CRAPPY CRAPPY CRAPPY! That’s the first thing I have to say about this resort. I wish I could give this resort negative stars. This is set to be a high end resort. It’s beautiful and has lots of pools and bars and restaurants. UNFORTUNATELY, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL! Worst service I’ve ever had at any resort, yet alone a resort of this caliber. First, there is no room service or food anywhere on the property after 10 pm. They have a cigar bar but there are no employees there. You have to walk downstairs to another bar to get a drink and take it upstairs. You also have to ask the bartender at the downstairs bar to open the cigar cabinet upstairs. There are no ice machines available. You have to carry your ice bucket to the concierge in the lobby to get ice. Good luck with that because the concierge also works the check in desk and the switchboard and there are only two of them on duty. We called down to the concierge three times during our stay and all three times the phone rang a minimum of twenty times before it was answered. There were dirty dishes in the elevator lobby that were never picked up during our entire stay. The worst thing was that the fire alarm repeatedly went off in the early morning hours. There was no emergency but there was also no announcement advising there really was no emergency. We guessed it was a false alarm because we just happened to see one go off in the hot tub area from our balcony. The first alarm prompted a call to the front desk just to be advised there was no emergency. Again the phone rang about 40 times before it was answered. Sort of understandable as I’m sure there were hundreds of guests calling to confirm. Again, it all could have been avoided with a simple announcement. The other calls we made, there was no excuse for the phone to ring more than 20 times. Lastly, after the alarms blaring several times and is getting no sleep, they wouldn’t even allow us to check out late to try to get some actual sleep. Also, if you are trying for high end resort, you should probably invest in some flat screen TV’s rather than the old console version with crappy picture and even worse sound. Worst customer service ever. I would expect much better from a resort like this. We will never be returning to this place which is sad because we visit this area a lot. We’ve traveled all over the world so we are accustomed to staying in high end resorts and getting great customer service. I only mention that fact for credibility and a baseline so it doesn’t seem like I’m unreasonable.

We have stayed in a one bed, 2 bed and 3 bed suites which are all very tastefully decorated at this resort, and have had a wonderful experience each and every time. Lots to do for children And adults., I believe 3 pools outdoors, one indoors, a spa, kids club. (we have a 4 yr old) bikes to rent, and situated on the beach which has beds., chairs and umbrellas for the guests .
We have also been to the restaurants at this resort which are a little on the pricier side, but the food & wine is good and there is no qualms there .
Overall. Would highly recommend, we have been here 3 times this year alone

Amazing. Relaxing. Wonderful. There was nothing hear I disliked. Definitely a place I will recommend to friends and family.

SADLY DISAPPOINTED! Starting with the fact that another couple who jumped the line was checked in before us. Then the tepid to cool shower with slow drain. Request for extra pillows ignored. Shorted washcloth towels today, had to use hand towel for bathrug, as they forgot to give new ones. Cleaning lady didn’t hadn’t shown up by 3pm the following day either. Oh and NEVER mentioned upon check in that Spa hours CLOSED EARLY at 6pm and Cigar bar now operating at 9pm instead of 7:00pm. I called concierge and the young lady left me on hold until another concierge picked up. At least HE knew the Cigar bar hours. Once high season is over, service seems to drop. Very disappointed for a resort that was rated so highly.

First off. this place is massive. Count on getting a little lost when you first get there. With that being said, it is really beautiful. Stay in the ocean view lodge if you can – very peaceful beachy room with large balcony and ocean view. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I was here for a work event and it was handled very well from top to bottom. Food at the Atlantic grill is very very good (great Bloody Mary too).numerous pools and beautiful beach. Lots of nice areas to relax and take in the scenery. Free parking too. Wifi/​service was poor. Overall great place and quick drive to St Augustine which I definitely recommend!

We spent three days in the resort. The Lodge is their hotel in the resort. It only has 20 rooms. We arrived on a Monday and promptly checked in. We drove around the complex trying to figure it out where to check in. Well, you check in a different building than the hotel building! The resort can use better signs! We went to the lobby of the main building and once again wondered about 3 minutes trying to figure it out where was the reception desk. Finally I asked the concierge and she tells me that they do it there (?). As we were waiting to get our room assignment she is complaining to her co-​worker that someone in the hotel is not returning her calls. As a guest I do not want to hear the internal problems of a hotel personnel! We finally checked in and drove out to our building. The building has 20 rooms on the 3^rd floor, a restaurant and meeting rooms on the second, and the golf shop on the first floor. I guess it could be considered a «boutique» type hotel. We opened the door and expected to have a wonderful view of the beach and instead our balcony overlooked the party tent they have set up on the side of the building for their special events. It was horrible. How can they advertise that all rooms have beach front? When you pay $ 200+ /​night for a room, we should have gotten better, specially since it was a weekday! Very disappointed.
In addition, one of the days service did not even come to our room to get the beds done and towels replaced. They told me that tot was because I had the «do not disturb» sign on the door, which I had for only for 30 minutes (12p — 12:30p). I guess they could not bother to check in the afternoon if the sign was removed? They only have 20 rooms to take care of!!! I called to let them know and the «concierge» wanted to blame it on me! Not very professional! She offered to send someone at 9:00 pm and I told them that it was too late but that they need it to know and reminded them that they only have 20 rooms on this building!
In addition, one of the pillow cases had some sort of stain on it. I wrote a note to service to change it and left it on the pillow to make it easy for them.

Had a quick stay here and there is so much to do! The beach, of course, mini-​golf, gym, ping-​pong, foosball, indoor Olympic pool, awesome sports bar, restaurants, everything you could possibly want for a really nice stay! It’s just a great place with lots for families to do.

The maximum score for any place that still shows Fox News on their public TVs is one star. That’s all you can say about a place like this.

We did a 2 night stay at this beautiful resort. Concierge was very accommodating even checked us in 2 hours early! Beautiful and spacious rooms with large bathroom! 6 gorgeous pools and the lazy river was the best part for kids. We did in room dining that was very convenient for us. My only complaint was that TVS in room were very outdated! Hopefully they change that soon. Overall a great experience!

Great golf. Beautiful beach. Rooms are large and decently appointed. What’s not to like? This would be an ideal place for a serious golf weekend trip. The Ocean course is fun and interesting, not too tough — the Conservatory is a terrific layout. Long, great bunkering, very large greens, generous off the tee, in great condition. Natural setting. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Compared favorably to other more famous Florida golf resorts at half the price.

Great sevice, their staff are super friendly and what a service they are that you don’t want a leave this amazing place, a lots of pools lazy river, different kinds of activities for kiddos most definitely will be a place to came back again it’s like hidden treasure.. we love it!!!

Great service from the moment we walked into the resort: very helpful and quick concierge service, poolside service at all pools with full bar and extensive food menu. Clean and very nicely decorated rooms with great mattresses and pillows.
Quiet and peaceful near rooms but so many options for adults and kids here from 4 pools including zero entrance, water slide, and adult only pool with hot tub. Hourly crafts and kids club are all available for those with kids.
You can watch players on the golf course from the pool and the private beach is a 30second walk from the 4 resort.
I can’t wait to bring my family back here!

Probably the worst customer service and food experiences that I have had in over forty years of travel. This resort needs a complete overhaul if it plans on attracting high end clientele, which it seems it wants to with the pricing it charges. No one is trained, you get better service and quality of food at Subway

Stayed here for three nights attending business meetings on site. Meeting rooms and food service were outstanding.
Signage was terrible as we couldn’t even find the resort entry easily.
Hotel room was dark and appeared outdated. It lacked many amenities that «lesser» chains provide. No full length mirrors, no mirror that was easy to apply makeup with, poor lighting, nicked up dark woodwork, shower unit that wasn’t attached to the tile. Also, the dinky little brochure with a map of the facilities was small, with tiny type and didn’t really explain what was going on in each area.
Not exactly a four star!

I planned my Christmas party for my friends here last saturday with never had stayed before but the reviews were enticing. I booked a three bedroom condo for one night (which are privately owned) for some of my guest as others booked their own suites. We were pleasantly surprised as the condos were of nice size and the views from the balconies of the ocean and the gold course were outrageous even though it was overcast. The resort has a romantic feel to it with a nice bar downstairs to have a drink which we attended for the live music and really enjoyed the dancing. The lazy river was closed by 6pm but the gym was spectacular with the steam room and saunas. We enjoyed the Christmas lights on the property and the Sleigh which we took pictures in. I will definitely return to this resort because of the customer service. They went out of their way for us. When I left I had two carts full of party supplies to put in my car. As I arrived down stairs a little tired from a long night to get my car figuring I would have to wait for the valeted car and wait for them to pack my car. I was immediately overwhelmed as I stepped out and there was my car front and center and everything was nicely packed away already in my car! I then felt really bad as I was on a shortage of cash by that time as I would of doubled my tip just because of that one gesture! This was a great experience and I will always tell my friends this is a place to experience when they ask where to stay. Thank You All at Hammock Beach. See you soon to try that lazy river!

This place was OK. Not 5 star worthy in my eyes. Stay was October 9 – 12, 2014.
Pros: Customer service was friendly. Rooms were comfortable. We had everything we needed in our room to prepare meals.
Cons: Walls are PAPER thin (could hear people next door moving their hangers on the rack and their conversations as if we were there) — no privacy. The water spout in the hot tub was too short and when running the water, it splashed on the side of the tub rather than smoothly flowing into the tub. Lots of walking to get places within the hotel. Golf shop guy was snippy. Golf coarse was closed the Saturday we wanted to use it — no indication of that when booking, checking in or when organizing a tee time thus why the guy was rude. Doors did not really lock unless you slammed them closed. No extra toilet paper in the bathroom.
Oh — the beach has a reef/​HUGE sharp rocks. There is no indication of that on the beach what-​so-​ever so be prepared to get hurt if you go into the water.
I was expecting it to be a little more «posh» per se based on their advertising but would only come back if family members booked a trip — not on my own accord.

We have vacationed here for 9 years, since it was a Ginn property. We love the big rooms and the Ocean Front views. The pool is AWESOME! My kids stay busy on the slide or the lazy river or the hourly kids craft project. Golf is great and course is well maintained. We were upgraded to the penthouse on year. A four bedroom two story beauty facing the ocean. We have also stayed in the Villas and they were not Ocean front but very spacious and comfortable. Sushi bar in the Hotel :) Easy drive to St Augustine or Daytona. We love this place and will return next year!

I wish I could give it 4 or 5 stars, but I just can’t. The staff had emailed a few days before asking if they could help with anything. I told them we had just moved to JAX from LA and I was celebrating my birthday. When we arrived, no acknowledgment was made in that regard. The staff were all very nice but the prices extremely steep. The bar at the pool was fun and the bartender was great! The food was pretty decent there but when I asked for ranch they handed me a warm packet of Newmans Ranch. We went to Loggerheads after Atlantic Grille (see my other review) because nothing else was open at all (cigar lounge, Delfinos and bar lounge were all closed I’m assuming because Sunday?) It was nice and dark and we were the only ones there. The bartender was very friendly and we liked talking with her. The sad part is we asked her about the resort and she knew nothing much to give us advice. She said they stopped training and giving tours of the property to staff so she couldn’t really tell us much and said they told her to explore the property on her off day. What?! They should have full knowledge of restaurants, the club, hours, rooms. What’s open and what’s not. Insane! When we checked out, they said they called for our car, but we waited more than 10 minutes in valet to have them bring it up. I should also mention this was on a Monday in mid September so it was NOT busy.
We asked for a late checkout and were told they could only give us until 12pm and every hour after would be an additional 25 $ plus tax. Seriously!!! On a Monday at barely 50% capacity? So we ended up just leaving at 10:30am. Bummer. I give 3 stars because the location to us is great and the pools are nice and staff are nice. But, they couldn’t even acknowledge I was here for my bday, the Atlantic grille didn’t want to acknowledge the disappointment in the food and the valet apparently didn’t want to acknowledge us at all.
I emailed the concierge, the hotel AND even took their survey before I did this Unilocal,hoping SOMEONE would respond to me. To this date (10÷9÷14), no one has, sadly.

I did not stay here; however, I visited for 2 full days, so my review is solely on my experience. My cousins stayed in the main tower on the 5^th floor and had a suite with 3 bedrooms. It was plenty of space to easily/​comfortably sleep 3 couples. My Aunt and Uncle and their 4 kids also slept here comfortably. The room also had 3 bathrooms, which was nice and convenient. The furniture and linens were all clean and comfortable, and their room was cleaned each day.
As for the grounds, the first day it was raining so we went to the indoor pool. It would have been nice if it was a little larger, but being in Florida, I’m sure they count on most people using the outdoor pools. Otherwise, it was clean and a good bath-​tub temperature.
The following day, we went to the beach and were impressed by the friendliness of all of the attendants. There were plenty of beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc. available. We also went to the children’s pool for a while. I didn’t go down the slide, but my cousins had fun.
We ate lunch at the pool side restaurant and it wasn’t anything special, but was good. The drinks were especially good. I had the goombay smash and was surprised to taste a generous pour!
Overall, I would recommend others to visit here!

I have been here the last six years. It is the perfect place to get away with or without the kids. I’ve rented the four bedroom villas and also stayed in the main building. Right now, I’m in the lodge– it is nice to be alone with just the hubby for the weekend. They have everything you need. EVERYTHING. You can stay and never use your car while here. You are only 30 minutes from St. Augustine if you want to venture off. The pools are great– for some reason they are not heated right now :(Which is not good — because it’s chilly out.
Other than that– it is perfect! I will come back as often as possible. The spa and restaurants are also really good. The Atlantic Grille had an awesome breakfast buffet.
