History

Established in 1971.

Bob Kramer founded Kramer Photographers in the Chicago area in 1971. In 1978, he relocated to Palatine and opened his first studio on Northwest Highway. By 1986, the wedding and portrait business soared, necessitating a move to a larger studio at 17 East Palatine Road. Within five years the business had grown, and an even larger studio was needed, bringing us to our present location at 101 West Palatine Road. Over the years, studios in Naperville and St. Charles were opened to accommodate our clients in the western suburbs.

Our full-​time staff of photographers has received numerous awards from the Professional Photographers of America. Our photographers have been chosen to teach at the Winona School of Professional Photography, run by the Professional Photographers of America. This is one of the highest honors a photographer can achieve. Over the years we have attained the praise and status that follows dedication and commitment in the art and craft of photography.

Amazing studio with best equipment and well experienced friendly photographer. Walgreen and cvs pharmacy pics suck. got pretty good looking passport size pics from this place. Highly recommend for visa and passport photos

Mr. Kramer did some photography for me on 04/​25/​2015. I wanted a few photos for my online dating profiles, and not a lot of photographers do those. I also wanted one of the photos to double as a professional head shot.
I’ve had photography done by a couple of professional and semi-​professional photographers. The good ones know how to make you pose so that you look very natural. The less natural you feel, the more natural you will probably look in the photographs! Mr. Kramer is one of the good ones. He totally helped me make my photos look natural, and the re-​touching was gorgeous. We did a lot of different poses and took a lot of pictures, yet he showed no irritation that I stuck to my plan of selecting just 3 for purchase. Gave me a good deal, too.
I now have dating profile pics that make me look at least 20% hotter than I am! (You can see them all in my profile.) Thanks, Mr. Kramer.

If your looking for dated equipment, backdrops and over priced 80’s theme portraits of you and your family… then you have found your place! Oh and please don’t let me forget the creepy owner Bob who forces conversation when there is none. His agenda was not to provide a high quality portrait but to navigate the quickest way to get paid. I don’t know how much easier I could have made it by asking for a simple white backdrop but instead he used an old gray sheet and hardly any light to take the picture. Not impressed and would recommend you saving your money and going elsewhere.

Our family photos came out beautiful, capturing the joy and connectivity of our celebration. Andrew, our photographer exceeded our expectation of truly professional, quality pictures that displayed personality and although posed, were natural looking. My husband believes he has a magical camera making his face appear slim and of course, handsome.
The progression of timing for our event photography was very well thought out as to not tire out Grandparents with standing outside and the lighting and colours captured was just stunning. He did exactly as requested, making sure all guests were in at least one photo and kept us on schedule, gently reminding us of the photos we requested ahead of time. Highly recommended for classic style photography you will cherish for decades. Huge thanks.

My family has been taking photographs at Kramer since before I was born. It’s definitely worth the price and they consistently do great work. We’ve done solo shots, immediate family shots, and entire extended family photos. The studio is large and has tons of options in term of backdrops, stools, props, etc. The photos always turn out really well and Kramer has a great process for helping you select which ones you want to order. We’ll definitely continue to come here in the future!

It’s been almost a year since we had our group photos taken. It was an exciting time because we haven’t spent Christmas together in years. We wanted to have our family portrait taken. There were about 30 of us then, but up until now, people have barely purchased the photos. Not very happy with the results, and its way over priced. I would not recommend this place to anyone I know.

We had our family portrait done at Kramer in Palatine. It was a great experience. There were 10 of us — 8 adults and 2 small children. It was amazing to watch Bob work with the children to get just the right expressions. You could tell from the suggestions he made that this was someone who really knew what he was doing. Many of us came into the session a bit nervous never having done this before. Bob turned this into an enjoyable and fun time for all.
The resulting pictures were outstanding! The proofs were ready in a couple days and the finished pictures within a week. They were all mounted and sealed. We had the 2 largest pictures framed right at the studio. I would gladly recommend Kramer Photographers to anyone! Great people to work with.

I had my wedding photographs done by Kramer and they did an outstanding job! The photo book was beautifully done and captured the dramatic details of the cathedral, despite the low light. Friends of ours have also had family portraits done at their home by Bob, Don’t know how he managed to have ALL the family pets look directly at the camera, at the same time as the humans, and smile!
They also have wonderful backdrops and props in their studios. They are 100% professional and I highly recommend them.

I have a great Experience and fun!
Great place to do a family portrait. My daughter graduated from Junior High, Bob Kramer did a great Job and the price was in the low side.
Also Bob does our ExecNet Networking group picture and always its always awesome!!!
I do recommend his place for any great Portrait; they have other two locations Naperville and St. Charles.
