Yes, indeed «Woohoo», we feel fortunate to have found Dr. Horvath!
Our aging dog could no longer handle the stress of being repeatedly crated into Hilo from Pahoa and we decided to call Dr. Horvath. I had heard about her at our former vet’s office and figured if they were recommending her it was worth a try.
Our expectations were exceeded. It is obvious she loves her work and is good at it. Our dog thrived under her treatment protocol. This is such a relief — after being advised by another vet to «just keep doing what you are doing» for a paw wound that wouldn’t heal.
It’s such a relief knowing Dr. H is practicing in our neck of the rainforest. I highly recommend her services without hesitation (and discovered she treats many pets/​animals of several neighbors as well.)

After going to several vets in the area we decided to try Dr. Agnes based on a recommendation from a friend who raved about her and said how much easier it was to have Dr. Agnes come to her home to treat her animals, so we decided to give Dr. Agnes a try. We have a herd of animals and trying to round them up and load them into the car and unloading them at the vet’s office was so challenging and stressful for ALL!
What a wonderful experience for us and our critters. No more fearful trembling at the vet’s for our dogs and cats! Dr. Agnes is a throw back to an old fashioned Country Vet! She offers a kind and gentle approach. She is very caring and listened and answered all of our questions and concerns. What a refreshing experience. Will we us her services again? ABSOLUTELY! While my wife & I were in Hawai’i looking for our new home things went sideways for us here and back in California. We had full intention of finding our new home so we went through the long and arduous process of bringing our cat into Hawaii with us so when we made the decision to return to Cali to take care of things we had to find a vet to provide us with some of the required documentation to take him with us… ugh.
We had 1 day left before we needed to leave and we called Dr. Horvath (a bit too early) & she responded, fit us in early and examined our cat. He obliged to her gentle approach, she gave him the required passing grade and filled out the appropriate docs. She took off to get them printed at the local printer access & returned shortly thereafter. Filled out the docs and supplied us with everything we needed to make our return trip with him in tow.
We have had 5 dogs over the years & our current feline family member of 15 yrs. I have found that when you find a good vet you’re in good shape but when you find a great vet you hang on till you no longer can have or maintain a pet. Dr. Horvath is a great vet and I can’t say it any better than that. Upon our return to Hawai’i we will again have critters amassed around us because we believe in balance & sustainability with our animal friends and live life enjoying all we can give to each other. Dr. Horvath will be our «Go To Gal» when it comes to keeping our critters happy & healthy!
