Lady Jane Craft Center

Great place to do last minute shopping. Very helpful staff and good selection. My 9 year old son always finds everything he needs for school. I like this store and I recommend coming here.

First time at this store and I needed a rush customized order for m son birthday party. The staff in the store was exceptionally nice and helped my sister and I out above and beyond. I was very impressed with the customer service in this store and I will definitely come back.

I’m new to making my own bracelets so I wanted to check out a place that was close took me and small so I wouldn’t feel intimidated asking my questions.
While the store is a bit dated they had a decent selection of natural stones for beading and supplies. Not the biggest selection but it gets the job done. Staff was really helpful and honest about what I needed and didn’t. Wouldn’t purchase prices for high end high ticket items here but worth checking out for basic items and stone/​crystal beads.

This place sucks. It is basically a 99 cents store with the words «craft store» written. I bought a plastic thermos and it seriously cracked because it was to cold out. I bought some big markers and they were dried out. I didn’t bother trying to return the items because this place is a little far from where I live. It is nowhere as good as a real craft store. The place is dingy and I saw people argueing with the workers in the store. It really shows a lot about the store. It is probably managed by people who don’t give a shit. Everything was out of order I could barley find what I was looking for.

An absolute disappointment. You would think that with the amount of space, the store would have a variety of craft supplies. A large portion is dedicated to beads, which I suppose is useful for those who make jewelry or do beading. I will definitely be traveling to Michael’s for my crafting needs.

Big store, decent selection, decent competitive price. This place is near the Belt Parkway, easy to find, definitely worth stopping by if you’re around the area.

I would give this place three and a half stars if I could.
I used to have to trek out to Lady Jane any time I wanted to go to a craft store in the past. This place has been around since I was a child a long, long time ago;)
I was never impressed with thier selection, but didn’t really have other options way back when. I dropped in a few days ago to shop for some bead supplies and was pleasantly surprised!!!
They have dedicated an entire secetion of the store to beads and beading supplies! The selection was decent. They had a bit of everything, which was nice. I was really impressed with the amount of findings, different kinds and qualities of seed beads, glass crystals and swarovski crystals.
While the selection was very impressive, I felt that it needed a bit of fine tuning. For example, I was able to find one kind of finding that I needed, but not in the most common shape it comes in. It was available two less popular, more stylized shapes that would’ve been harder to work with. The selection of seed beads was spectacular, however, I felt the colors could have been selected with more regard to fashion trends. There were a lot of earth tones for example, and not too many bright options. Also, I would find an e bead in one color and not be able to find a matching seed bead to use with it.
Lady Jane has come a long way in recent years as far as the beading department goes! I would stop by here again because the selection varies from the more commercial offerings at AC Moore and Michael’s. But, shopping for what you need is easier in the other two places. I guess I would return here if I were looking for a novelty item.

While nowhere near as big or vast as big-​box craft stores like Michael’s or AC Moore’s, Lady Jane Craft Center gets the job done. They have a beautiful beading section, which is the best I’ve seen outside of beading-​only supply houses in Manhattan.
The sections are rather small, but carry a decent amount of supplies. There is a scrapbooking section, fine arts, floral, sewing, and baking supplies. The staff were friendly, although I was able to find what I wanted with little assistance, since items were in appropriate sections.
The best part of this store is the sale or clearance prices. I have gotten things dirt cheap, probably because the staff wasn’t sure what it was worth. The worst part of the store is that if you want something very specific, they may not have it here. Also, they have turned the entry area of the store into a dollar store, not a dollar craft supply section, but an area where you can buy toilet brushes and dish soap.

This place is pretty decent. I have bought baking pans and baking supplies, fabric, ribbon, stuff from their «bead shop», glue, holiday decorations, etc.
I don’t go often but when I do I usually find what I am looking for. The staff are also very friendly. Once I went with my mom — she needed some findings for some jewelry she had. The girl there at the «bead shop» was so helpful in showing her different options and different tools and my mom got what she needed.
Another time I went in to get pipe cleaners to help hold my hair up in horns for a Halloween Party. When a staff member came over to ask if she could help me — I told her what I was doing and she immediately came up with a much better idea. It was easy and held up with a lot of dancing! In fact people at the party assumed it was some kind of headpiece or hat — no one could believe it was my real hair. I would have never come up with the idea on my own!
For a local store — it is pretty decent and the prices are also pretty competitive.

I really don’t care if the staff don’t have STAFF written on them, or if the aisle signs are handwritten, or if the store layout is unimaginative (and by the way, it’s not poorly lit at all). There’s no place with a big variety of craft supplies near me, and Lady Jane is a quick couple of exits away on the Belt. The people are either knowledgeable, or honest in their lack of expertise, but either way they try to be helpful. I went there today for foam boards, foam glue, matte finish and Krylon paint. I found all except the Krylon, though they had alternatives I could have chosen from. Looks like my Halloween prop will shape up nicely now. I was pleasantly surprised to also find a good quality wallet fob chain for only $ 1. Oh yeah, and there’s even a parking lot in the back.

I think out all the craft stores in Queens this one has the best selection and prices. Is a little out of the way for me but its worth the drive. Its hard to get help but once you do they realy take their time to explain how to do any projects and even give you ideas.

After all these years of living in this area and never shopped here until now… I needed four foam core boards which will be cut out to shape of numbers for my (hopefully soon) high school reunion.
Upon entering Lady Jane, the set-​up and lay-​out is very dated to the 1970’s and 1980’s era as it’s very dark and the aisle numbers are hand-​written as their signage. Customer service is knowledgable about crafts and products, yet patrons would never distinguish staff among customers as they dress in everyday street clothing of jeans and sneakers. Wow, can presentation attire in retail hit the floor that low? The staff does not wear any name tags, or aprons to identify themselves as Lady Jane employees, thus the two stars.
There is very limited 12″ X 12″ scrapbooking papers unlike Michael’s and A.C. Moore. They do not carry Krylon’s Acid-​Free Spray, which I desire to preserve a newspaper article. There are classes offered for beading as Lady Jane offers a good selection of beading despite of the lack thereof scrapbooking crafts.
Still no other arts and craft retailer can ever bet Michael’s or A.C. Moore!

i’m suprised that i’m the first reviewer… yet proud. i usually (always)come here for the beads. compared to the other places i buy beads (michael, ac moore) this place has the best selection. they even have classes to make the most intricate things, but i think the classes are a little to overpriced, you’re better off buying a book from them. the people here actually know what they’re talking about when it comes to beading, unlike the ladies at michaels! they also have a great selection in scrapbooking materials, knitting and sewing materials, painting materials and lots of stuff to make party souvenirs with! this place is a bead heaven!
