Justins Towing & Storage

This towing company does business in a poor neighborhood and targets families and women. Justin has a junk yard in Queens near a drug store. Many cars have been illegally towed from the parking lot of the Rite Aid on 96^th and Rockaway Bld. illegally (see Unilocal complaints), including my Minicooper on 12÷19÷15. My mother in law, aged 86, lives nearby the store. I parked in the parking lot as a customer, in order to pick up the medication she needed. While waiting my turn in the store, I spoke with her by cell phone to make sure I had the correct prescription and her doctors name. Her medication had not been called in by her doctor, and after some minutes, I left the store. Within those several minutes, my car was gone and I thought it was stolen! Despite the towing company’s claim, I heard no one asking about my car, nor was I approached by anyone in the store while on the phone or otherwise. I noticed that there was a man leaning against the wall outside on his cell phone. In the dark, 2 signs posted at the ends of the parking lot warn of towing and the address but cannot be seen, so you have no idea where your car has been taken. The informer is paid by this operation, and is therefore dependent upon car removal for his living. When told of the pick up address, I had to walk several blocks to find the lot in the dark, and was charged 134.00 to release my car, along with another family who had the same experience. The employee refused to hear my assertion that I was a customer, and just demanded my license and cash, standing in the dark junkyard. This shakedown of families is illegal, abusive and is theft of property. I had no receipt to show the owner, since I did not purchase any medication! The thuggish owner did not even care to hear my complaint, or my demands to release my car which was blocked by his tow truck. I feared for damage to my car if I left, and decided not to call 911 and wait in the freezing dark junkyard with this crew of thieves. This scam operation illegally targets women and families with children, decides what a customer is or is not, then adamantly acts as judge and jury. A similar shakedown operation was eliminated 1 year ago at the same site after a detective was towed. This holiday season is time for predators like Justin to be stopped.

Agh God is so good! Today I was parked illegally in a lot and was Towed by this company but because I’m 9 months pregnant they were kind and courteous enough to waive the fee and return my car without any hesitation. Thank you!!!

This business was recently hired by Rite Aid on Rockaway Blvd in Queens to tow away cars parked illegally. On the very first day of working with Rite Aid they towed my husband’s car even though he was at Rite Aid to get his flu shot! My husband had to ultimately pay $ 136 because they wouldn’t release his car otherwise. We have the receipts from Rite Aid with the time stamped and everything.
I called the district manager of Rite Aid who asked this company to give us a call so we can get our money back and they are NOT calling us. What gives? You would think this business would want to call back and make a wrong right but I AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM THEM. Very deceptive and beware if you shop at Rite Aid you may end up paying $ 136 for a flu shot!

«Justin» fails to explain or even acknowledge the fact his «company» uses spotters to illegally tow your vehicles in his reply to me. That’s an ILLEGAL practice used by towing companies to prey on people for their money. You and I both know you use them, that’s ACCURATE. Your drivers intentions when using spotters is never to actually tow the car but to instead to let the driver take back his car and make money off of them immediately. This is factual. This is exactly what what the police department told me about towing services like this one. But of course you ignore that completely in your reply. And I already tried to reach you on NUMEROUS occasions and was told you would give me a call back when you’re at work and I never once received a phone call. In the future do your job. I have your driver on videotape using the same young teenage spotter in street clothes less than an hour after «catching» me. Your driver was parked a half a block away around the corner of the parking lot hidden, as the young male in street clothes calls it in. Then the kid even approaches me and apologizes to me for doing it to me but said he had to. Said they’ll «cut me a break» if I pay them this amount of money in cash. When I called them out on using the spotter the driver said they came to the location TOGETHER and leave TOGETHER, but he was just standing outside at the moment. That’s the ONLY reason I paid when it happened because I believed them. After talking to my older brother who’s in law enforcement I come back with my camera and videotape them doing the SAME THING to someone else less than a hour after it happened to me! Same young male in street clothes just standing in the parking lot phones in to the tow truck driver everytime someone parks illegally. The tow truck is less than 30 seconds away around the corner waiting. This is not me misleading anyone, this is the FACTS. I have it on VIDEO with your company’s tow truck visible, along with your driver and spotters faces. I will be uploading in on to YouTube. If you want to see for yourself FEEL FREE to contact me. For the record it’s not about the money. If it was about that I would of gotten over it by now. I can admit to parking somewhere temporarily that I shouldn’t have. Hundreds of people can daily. However it’s the ILLEGAL method used by your shady tow company to get people. There’s a reason it’s illegal and a reason tow companies have been shut down for practicing this illegal method. You can counter act any legal action we take all you want. Crooks won’t win big guy.

Is it normal practice to try and tow a car that has only been in a lot 5 min… With someone still inside?! That’s exactly what one of your drivers just tried to do. Something sketchy about a company that offers money for junk cars and tries to randomly grab a car on the go.

My car broke down called Justin’s he came and picked me up with his nice tow truck nd brought me to my mechanic!!! Great price !!! Friendly!!!
