Small family restaurant, great food, fast service, good prices. One block from the beach. Hamburgers are great we will definitely come back again and again. Breakfast is also very delicious.

Love this place! We usually get the tri tip omelette with biscuits and gravy and a short stack! The food never disappoints and the owners are part of the community so everyone kind of knows each other. Great food, great prices, and fun relaxed atmosphere. This is our usually Saturday morning breakfast spot.

I love these hole-in-the-wall places. My wife and I stopped in here and enjoyed a tri-tip sandwich and a tri-tip salad with potato salad and macaroni salad sides. The food was delicious and the place has a barbecue feel, even with the pesky flies!

Great trip tip Philly style. Love the garlic frys. Pulled pork was good. Very large portion size at a good price. Yes I have had better pulled pork but for around this area this is best. I would suggest taking food togo because as others have complained they have a major fly problem… Don’t know if the owner knows about using fans to keep them out would be maybe $ 100 for a few fans faced at opening that would help and some biograde stuff talk to a local chemical distributer it will break down grease, food and help prevent them. I use in dumpster and get it cleaned by city for free every 90 days it helps a bunch.

Pretty good lunch of tri tip, the BBQ sauce is tasty and the rice with beans are good. But the restaurant is a small shack(you can easily drive past it) with minimal efforts to prevent flies. The cook and likely owner is not friendly at all, never thanked us for the business. I would recommend trying somewhere else, seems to be lots of other options. Nearby pizza was awesome. The taco shack across the street is probably better. Most small businesses like this, you find an owner operator who really appreciates visitors.

Tri-Tip is phenomenal here and breakfast is fantastic! the ambiance has a down-to-earth punk rock vibe with great music and no fuss attitude service. ABSOLUTELYLOVEIT! it is literally right by a pretty secluded beach so is perfect for a day trip, a date with a loved one for some yummy food and beach time, or great for work /business interview or team lunches. hands down i miss this place the most since i have moved and make sure to stop there any time i am in LA as it is definitely worth the drive. many options of food and absolutely killer eats. the lemonade is fresh real stuff too not that fake nasty lemonade. A MUSTGO!

Our son brought us to Big Daddy’s for breakfast today. He spoke highly of the breakfast burrito, so I ordered it. It was delicious & hot! Can see why it was a fav or his while on base at Port Hueneme. Yummo! Maybe, we will just have to return tomorrow before flying home…,

Husband and I wanted a delicious breakfast for cheap. My husband got the breakfast burrito which was hot and fresh. He really enjoyed it. I had biscuits and gravy and a short stack. Both were hot and fresh as well. We loved the simplicity of this place. Simple, easy food for a great price.

One of my favorite places to grub when in Oxnard. It has the appearance of a rundown surf shop as some have claimed but don’t let the looks fool you. This place cranks out quality comport food with a homey atmosphere. Some of the most humble, hard working folks I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. The menu has plenty to offer from breakfast(tri-tip, eggs and potatoes) bomb burritos with homemade salsa to pulled pork sandwich(off the hook) plus so much more. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. I bet you’ll be back again as i have myself every time I’m in the area.

Excellent little BBQ spot in a hole in the wall location. Get the tri-tip sandwich«mom’s style», it’s really good. Great music on, friendly staff, and really good potato salad, too.

Pulled pork sandwiches are the bomb. Their homemade BBQ sauce is great as well. So far Iv been here 3 times and everything Iv had is good, and the menu is huge. Don’t let the shack look of it turn u away. It’s a locally owned fits the beach scene. The people are super nice too.

This laid-back beach eatery is just the place to grab a bite whether you’ve just been surfing or decided to have a lazy morning and sleep in. Basic menu of eggs, potatoes, meats and burritos fixed any way you’d like them. Nothing fancy, but it always hits the spot. Expect a friendly staff and beachy-eclectic environment.

I have been to this place a few times when I was a child. So it was a little nostalgic when coming back more than ten years later. The place is exactly the same. Same corky interior, with unusual posters hanging on the wall. It was quite stuffy inside and the music didn’t go well with the beach vibe. We were the only patrons in the restaurant at the time. The blonde lady who helped us take our order was super friendly. She had a smile on her face and was happy. I wish more people had her upbeat spirit. The cook(maybe owner) was an older gentleman, not that friendly, maybe quiet. He was just okay and he seemed like he didn’t want to be bothered. Of course we had to get their best item, the tri tip sandwich. For three people, the total came to $ 30. For three sandwiches, the food was done in ten minutes or less. I was amazed how fast it came out. I think the french fries took the longest to make. Tri Tip Sandwich +meaty, perfect amount of tri tip +two meals worth of food for me +mushrooms and grilled onions were good +garden salad, potato salad, were all homemade and was the perfect side –bread was not toasted(this should be mandatory) –cheese was not melted(this also should be mandatory) –no spread on sandwich, mayo, BBQ sauce needed All in all, I enjoyed my sandwich more at home than at the restaurant. This is because I was able to toast the sandwich and melt the cheese. I don’t know if I would come back…

Got the tri tip plate from here, and I loved it! The beans were also good and the portions were awesome! I took home leftovers because I couldn’t finish my meal and it was just as good the next day! I love the atmosphere and the employees are great also, very friendly place!

Food is okay here. Seems like everything is either made from scratch or from a pre made bag from a grocery store. Biscuits and gravy(1⁄5) — not cooked all the way so it as a chalky taste and needed more seasoning Tri-tip sandwich moms way(3⁄5) — not bad but not great. Not coming back here. Only about 5 tables. Typical beach seating.

Love the philly style tri-tip sandwich with mushrooms. I like adding their BBQ sauce and hot sauce. I like the variety of sides they have so even the health nuts can enjoy. The side salad is always fresh. This place is a hole in the wall and I never would have gone here unless someone took me.
