Yeah it is a Walmart, but I consider it one of the nicer Walmarts in the area. I prefer to go at night so it isn’t as busy with people, usually after 1am. I am usually the only shopper in the store, sometimes there are one or two others. Yes the aisles are busy with boxes and people stocking the shelves but they are just doing their jobs and you should expect it at that time of night. The people working are always nice and apologize for being in the way. When I shop there during the day the associates are just as nice. There is another Walmart Neighborhood Market at 91st and Metcalf and it isn’t nearly as nice and the staff aren’t as nice either. This is my go to grocery store week after week.

Just came here and the service is HORRID. Came in on my lunch break(3am) to pick up a few things for Valentine’s Day for my sons party. I walk in and see two employees talking and wasn’t even acknowledged. I then went to the 1st cashier station since that was the only light on. I stood there for about 2 minutes and no one came so I walk down the aisle and I saw one of the employees talking walk over. Thinking she would check me out, she just out something away at another cashier station without being acknowledged once again as we made eye contact. She walks away. So I end up leaving all the things on the cash register station and walk out. Still no one acknowledging my presence. I end up asking someone outside if they work there and then proceeded to ask if anyone was working at the register. He said someone was and asked if I wanted to talk to the manager. I didn’t have time so I drove away. Way to go Walmart. You still are very upsetting. Train your employees at this location on customer service regardless of the time of the«day».

I only go to this walmart because it’s so close to home, it’s small but nice. My only gripe is the people who work here. The first couple of times I thought ok they must be just having a bad day but nope this is how they ALWAYS are. No smile, no hello, no thank you nothing! This place really needs to teach their cashiers some people skills.

I know a lot of people have differing views regarding the chain, Wal-Mart. Here’s the deal: for me, this location is ultra-convenient, & ease of checkout is wonderful!!! As with most businesses, however, this one has it’s ups & downs. To start, I have tried to communicate to this location that a stop sign is desperately needed at the intersection on the North entrance into the parking lot! It says«STOP» on the ground(as you’re coming in from the North, heading South), but without a physical Stop sign, hardly ANY drivers stop. I keep thinking I’ll just go, & let an approaching car hit me, but nahhhh! No time for that. LOL I do enjoy the low prices of items for sale, & selection is *usually* good(although, it’s aggravating to see one item at Hy-Vee, i.e. V-8 Bloody Mary mix, but no where to be found here!), and inexpensive little pies for sale(picture to follow next time I visit) are JUST enough to whet my sweet tooth. The stocking, I’ve noticed, usually occurs later now(after 10pm), but yeah, I just ignore them. They’re there to do a job, so don’t expect them to be friendly. I wouldn’t be, if I was doing that. LOL The BEST feature of this location is that they’ve replaced the self-checkout scanning stations!!! They work 10X better than before, & I never have problems with them! I know we’re losing the human element when we utilize the self-checkout kiosks; however, when you have other customers squabbling over this & that, these beauties allow you to get out in a quick & efficient manner!!! LOVE em!!! Employees have all been pleasant, & helpful with any problems. On a followup review, I’ll note the name of one cashier that has been there for a while, & does a VERY good job.

I’ve been here a number of times — it’s my ‘go-to’ when I frequent the Hampton Inn down Metcalf. I love the 24-hour convenience. Yes, the parking lot is a little tricky, but no different than any active, retail spot. The facility is well stocked, clean, and easy to walk around. I haven’t had issues with the shelf stocking traffic referenced in the other review, and I could see how stocking during peak traffic could be a pain. That said, the store is fairly open and large. Staff have been friendly. It is funny how Walmarts do seem to attract a certain clientelle … wait! I’m shopping there! D’oh! There is a target a couple of miles south on Metcalf, but this location is just fine.

I pretty much hate this place, but it does offer some benefits, so here goes: I hate it because *they are open 24 hours but they decide to do the bulk of their stocking massive tall palates of bulk items around 8 pm when PLENTY of people are there shopping *the guys working as stockers have no social skills. .. .not so much as a «sorry» or «excuse me, but gotta get these 500 cases of water stocked NOW» *parking lot is absolute GARBAGE! I am a very careful driver. I am always on the lookout for the other guy’s inattention; that’s what driver’s ed taught me in high school.. .. And I have nearly wrecked many many times. This on its own causes me to question every stop I make here. Poor design + stupid people = accident waiting to happen *a lot of people apparently feel handicapped, as the spots are always filled with non-handi id’d cars, plumb up onto the sidewalk! *the dredge of SoJoCo shops here. Ok so yeah, so here I am frequenting and reviewing, but some creepy, ghetto-ass people come in here. i always lock my car doors and have car key poised to STAB Why I return: *cashiers are so nice!(Except dude in the express lane) *they have weird, cheap stuff that HyVee doesn’t have(six lowfat eggrolls for $ 5? Giant subs from the deli for $ 5? Yes, please!) *it is right by the gym.…and that is mainly why I come here. I have no chow at the house, and after working out at 10pm, I do not feel like hauling ass 5 miles in the other direction to HyVee for dinner materials Coming back? Yup. Sadly. I affectionately refer to it as MFSITWWW(my favorite store in the whole wide world). Reverse psychology.
