Topgolf

First timer after hearing good things. May increase the rating later. Having fun so far. On a cooler day and the heaters keep you warm. Only issue so far is that one of their clubs snapped when my nephew was using it. Nearly hit me in the head. A staff member saw it, but none came to assist or check on us. Fortunately none was hurt. Makes me wonder if they check their equipment for signs of stress.
Cheese fries were very good.

Great facilities and also nice food. However the lady (team leader) at the concierge was so rude to us, she needs customer service training!

You better be coming for the golf which is just as much fun for the pro as it is for the novice. Very cool experience that really can help the skilled golfer practice versus just mashing a bucket of balls on the driving range. You svire mote points by getting vloser to pins. And the way the ground is contoured, even absolute beginners have their ball roll into one if the targets to score points almost every shot.
But deciding to pass time waiting for an open bay (which can be 1.5 to 3 hours) by dining is atrocious. We sat at our table for 20 minutes before we even saw a waitperson. When someone did come to take our order, that was LITERALLY the last time we saw her. The kitchen made up for the horrendous service a little by bringing the food out very quickly. And it was decent bar food. Our drinks went unrefilled for the entire meal while we say there for an hour. When I say, we never saw the wait staff again. I meant it. I didn’t see her waiting on other tables or running back and forth from the kitchen. She disappeared. The table next to us had a different waiter and he was the same way. Never saw him. We finally got up and left without paying. They had my credit card with an open tab so I had the host at the golf golf bay add drinks and dessert to that tab and close it at the end of the night. I tipped the bay host very vwell but I hope he didn’t have to share it with the bar staff.

Really fun outing. Think of a bar with golf rather than golf with a bar. Gets expensive fast and people wait in line to play. Fun for a special occasion or an outing with friends, but is an expensive date.

Ever since this Topgolf opened in Kansas City, I’ve been intrigued after hearing rave reviews from my coworkers and a couple of friends. Now, I’m no golfer and I don’t normally have fun with a golf club with my awkward elbow but from the two times that I’ve visited, I managed to have fun.
Topgolf is massive and situated in a large greenspace in OP which is a bit of a drive for me but I understand it caters to a certain clientele. The wait can be quite long, over 2 hours from what I’ve heard both from employees and friends. The best deal is definitely during the lunch hours (up to noon Friday-​Sunday and until 6pm all other days) where the cost to get a bay is $ 20 per hour. After those times, it doubles to $ 40/​hour. Still not bad if you’ve got a large party. I found Saturday mornings are very busy as many are trying to get the $ 20/​hr deal before noon.
Topgolf recently came out with a revised menu which overhauled most of their previous menu items. There are still some dishes from their old menu such as the Mushi (think Chipotle burrito). My two visits were within a week of each other and was lucky enough to experience both their old and new menu. I wasn’t too thrilled about their dishes on my first visit but was actually excited about a few items on their new menu. Their wings are quite good as they are seasoned well and the glaze options that they have are good; I was a fan of the Asian Sesame glaze. I was surprised with their Sunrise burger; the egg was a good touch and the patty cooked well. I was a bit disappointed in their Brisket Grilled Cheese because I was expecting slices of tender brisket but it came out as pulled chunks that were a bit dry, it tasted of corned beef in my opinion. Overall the food is decent, a bit higher on scale than your typical bar food but lower than a casual dine-​in restaurant. The food prices are decent and the chips & salsa are unlimited refills.
The staff is a hit or miss in my opinion. An experience with a certain team lead at the concierge (which is where you reserve your bay) was not good and as I monitored her throughout my wait, I noticed that she was rude to certain people from my perspective. I get that this place gets quite busy and it is most likely difficult to handle everyone at a certain given time but one should not argue with your customers. On my second visit, I thankfully bypassed the concierge and went straight to the bay where our host was pretty awesome and attentive. He forgot an order and brought it out free of charge which was over the top of what he could have done, so bravo to him.
Overall, Topgolf is a nice place to have fun, eat, and chuck some balls at colored targets. The heaters are controlled by the employees so make sure to let them know if you’re too hot or too cold so they can adjust accordingly. If you come at night, on certain songs, the targets dance to the music which I found pretty nifty.

This place is so cool. It’s for the novice golfer to different levels of experts. It is very active and there is plenty to do while you are waiting for your spot. I wish their was one closer to home, but I will be making sure that I hit it up a couple of times a year. The food was good — I had the chicken and waffles and it was the right size and very flavorful. I also had some sort of jalepeno margarita — not my thing, but I think it was made well.
We had a blast — the one thing that has me not giving this a 5 star was the waitress at the table. I wasn’t ordering any drinks, but she was kind of gamey about the guys who wanted to pay cash as they went and I felt pressured them into running a tab. If I had decided to get another drink while playing — I probably would have just gone up to the bar myself to get a drink — it wouldn’t have been a big deal to do that.

So much fun! And half price deals are amazing! My sons favorite place to go have fun!

Joined friends here on a Saturday morning. There was 1.25 hour wait when we arrived, so we played some fusball and billiards while we waited. You have to register for a member card ($ 5.50) to play, but then you are set when you return. We saw several people being their own clubs, which we’ll likely do when we come back. We hit range balls pretty often, but Topgolf added a fun, social, game aspect, with different options for challenging your group. You could go for points nearest the pin, or set it up to aim for surviving targets, with each player’s GPS-​tracked balls contributing to your score. So fun– I see why this place is utterly packed. I recommend calling ahead for a spot, because the wait by noon was 3 hours! We got some drinks and appetizers. They seemed to have a unique selection with reasonable prices. The chicken quesadilla ($ 10) was standard, and my friend did not recommend these nachos, which were halved, fried flour tortillas topped with Spinach and cheese. No one was really a fan of those, but otherwise our experience was great.

First time here and was with a group of 20 for team building from my company.
Great place, even if you do not golf, lots of fun, enjoyable time, and just a great physical way to let off some steam.
Kind of pricey, but facilities were excellent. They heat the area in the winter so you are not freezing.
Highly recommended!

Look if your a real golfer this place is not for you! Don’t go thinking you will have a place to practice your skills in peace. It’s loud, fun and lots of roaming people.
I been dying to come here being that it looks awesome driving by on the freeway. Thursday night, which happened to be the hottest night this year, was my night of choice. My friend said they have their prime hours posted so if you don’t want to wait do some research on when you should go. I came in about 9:40pm and there was no wait, we were immediately taken to our bay.
Staff… I can’t stress it enough they are amazing! Super friendly and eager, EAGER I say to help at anytime. Wore a genuine smile the whole time, I can tell they love their job. We happen to get a newbie in training and it being my first time and his first day (think this was Jacob or he was training the other, both did awesome jobs may I add) we learned just as much as he did that night. Maybe I’m laid back but it didn’t bother me at all.
Pros: spacey bay fitting maybe 5 I think, they have bigger areas for more people.
The location, décor, options of what you can do here, creative games, tvs at each bay, fast service, staff, drinks (didn’t try the food but I will be back to) After an hour you can start adding time of 30mins and then hours. 30mins is $ 20, or $ 10 per person so it could be more if more people are at bay.
Cons: maybe a tad bit pricey especially for someone who hasn’t used a golf club before lol I had to learn while using my time up. Staff also had to show us a lot using my time as well. The system may need an update due to my game adding a score of 16 that wasn’t mines, yay I won that match, but another match it added a ball that made my lose 5 points that I didn’t do. You have to get a topgolf card, it’s required. It isn’t to bad in price but it sort of threw me off as that’s an additional charge.
Wondering if they give specials for birthdays or holidays as I missed the Tinder Valentine’s Day here. Love this place it’s s must try.

Some of the most fun I’ve had in a long time! Ended up staying over 10 hours! We got there around 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate my Birthday. Next thing we know we are closing the place down around 1:00 — 1:30 in the morning! Great atmosphere, amazing food, and great drinks. Prices were reasonable and I’ve made a couple trips back since! Always a blast. Take your own clubs or rent upgraded clubs as the standard clubs there are horrible.

We met a few other couples for a date night. What a fun and creative way to spend the evening with friends. The food and drinks were amazingly good. We had a «stall» on the third level which was a very fun viewpoint to enjoy the atmosphere and golf experience. You don’t need to be a golf pro to have fun here. The games are definitely designed to be enjoyed by all. The evening was a perfect combination of good food, drinks and entertainment.

This place is ridiculously so much fun! My only complaint is the limited parking if it is a busy Fri/​Sat night. The food is fairly expensive & just ok bar food. The drinks were $ 7 for wine or mixed drinks. My husband accidentally spilled a fresh drink and another was brought right away for no charge.
The heaters in the golf bays can be turned on — the only problem is if the table next to you is wanting them & you aren’t — you both either have it on or off. We got really hot & the other group kept turning the heaters on so that was a little annoying.

When my friend was describing this place, I had no idea what to expect. In fact, I don’t think I had any expectations going into it. I thought «Ugh, yeah golf is cool, but you really wanna spend a Friday night there? There’s like a ton of other places to go to…» Mind blown. Expectations out the window. Nightlife rules rewritten. I like watching golf and besides mini golf, I’d never really hit the turf before.
It stings a little bit reading the other reviews regarding wait times and what not, but honestly? We didn’t wait long for our bay. We walked around the facility and by the time we were done, it was ready. I made the mistake of wearing wedges. WORST IDEA EVER. Luckily I had flats in the truck. The service was alright. Our sever was nice but there wasn’t a notable guest experience to add. The food is definitely there and the menu is flexible for everyone. Chicken + waffle sliders were my favorite and the jalapeño gravy just fits to a T! The injectable donut holes are a cute dessert I didn’t anticipate either. You get a syringe choices of chocolate, raspberry, or Bavarian cream. Perfect for sharing. What’s also perfect for sharing? A FISHBOWL. Who doesn’t love a solid fishbowl.
All in all, this place more than I could have imagined. It’s very clean. Staff is friendly. Food is good and the balls are a plenty.

This is the spot for all avid golfers and people just looking for a chill place to relax and play. This is a great place to hang out with friends and family. Prices are pretty reasonable. It’s a better deal with larger crowds since each pit is a set price per hour. They have lots of fun golfing games to play for the group to rev up some friendly competition.
Overall, this is a amazing place to hang out and play. I love the cleanliness, huge outdoors platforms, tons of fresh air, great service, and yummy foods and drinks. Fun times to share for all!

My coworker was telling me about this place, so I finally went here on a Friday night to meet up with a few people around 8:45pm. It was a thirty minute drive for me but no big deal. The parking lot was packed, but I luckily found a spot. Definitely carpool here if you’re able to. We added ourselves to the wait list which ended up being about 2.5 hours or so. There was a Royals game playing so we sat at the bar while we waited for a golf bay to open up.
I ordered a Dos Equis Lager ($ 5.50) and the Mushi ($ 10) which was the most popular item on the menu. The food took a very long time to come out. It was interesting and it tasted like a mix between a subway, a burrito, and a sushi roll with a tiny spicy kick. There were six large pieces and was just the right amount for me. I would recommend that if you want an interesting appetizer. After we finished our drinks and food, then it was more waiting until our golf bay was available. We continued to watch the Royals game on the many flat screen TVs around the bar area.
If you’re going to golf here, then you need to get a membership card at the front desk. Our bay was on the third floor. There were a ton of golf bays on all three floors so that was cool. What you have to do is swipe your membership card then pay on the machine at the bay. I believe it was like $ 40 per hour since it was a Friday after 6pm but split with the six players (max number as far as card-​swiping) wasn’t bad. We chose a game where we had to hit the golf balls at the specific colored targets on the course. I haven’t played golf in about five years so it was a lot of re-​learning on my part. It was still fun though and definitely great to spend the night swinging at golf balls when the weather was great.
Topgolf was good if you don’t mind the long waits. I would come back in the future.

I really enjoyed myself at Topgolf. This was my first time using a club for anything besides mini-​golf, so this was a brand new thing for me. My husband golfs occasionally, so he knew what he was doing. We went on a Tuesday morning right when they opened and had no troubles getting in (of course). We waited in a short line to get my husband a membership card and then checked in. We were taken to the top floor and were given the basic run-​down of how to play.
Our scores showed only as one player since we only bought one membership card (this didn’t bother me too much). It was $ 20 to play for 1 hour which was a good deal in my opinion. I wouldn’t want to face 4 hour wait times and pay $ 40 like I’ve been reading in other people’s reviews… We didn’t order food, so I can’t account for that, but we often had our waters refilled without having to ask. There was fairly loud music and some kids and young adults who weren’t too quiet. This didn’t bother me, but I’m guessing it may bother some «serious golfers». I had a lot of fun swinging and playing for the hour that we were there. On our way out, we even played a game of foosball (this was a free table too, not one you had to pay for). I would definitely go back. Hopefully the next time I go, there won’t be anything over a short wait just like this time.

You wouldn’t ask Pete Weber or Ernie McCraken to review Rock n’ Bowl at the local lanes. Similarly, you shouldn’t ask Tiger Woods or Jordan Spieth’s opinions on Top Golf. In reality, Top Golf is the Rock n’ Bowl of driving ranges and as an avid golfer, it drives me crazy.
I love the concept here, however. Great bar & restaurant atmosphere, super smiley employees, good music, cold brews, and a bevy of games to play while you’re hitting off the mats. These all spell a good time for birthday parties, corporate social hours, and feats of strength performed by college frat boys. It doesn’t spell a good time for the golfer wanting to hit some balls to hone their craft. Take that stuff to a real driving range.
Top Golf’s appeal is undeniable but there are some major drawbacks. We went on a Tuesday night and had to wait two hours for a stall. Yes, it gave us enough time to eat some dinner and a have a couple drinks before our group was called. But if I had just come here to hit golf balls, I should have just gone to Smileys for $ 10 bucks and 30 minutes. The food was decent and drink specials were ok as well.
Smileys (my baseline) lets you hit about 75 balls for 10 bucks. Top Golf isn’t measured by the ball, rather by the time you take. It was prime time when we went and $ 40 bucks a pop for each hour. We «golfed» for two hours and split $ 80 bucks eight ways, making the same price for Smileys but only for about 25 balls because of the time constraints. The games offered at the touch of a button are fun, but take away from the point of a driving range — distance and/​or placement. It’s not about how far you can hit the ball (there’s a net that limits the long drives) but rather accuracy and skill. And while you watch your ball sail near one of the zones for points, you’re wasting time when you could be setting up your next shot.
As a semi-​serious golfer, I shuttered often here. There is no concept of «shhhhh» or golf clapping. Don’t expect silence during your back swing. In fact, it’s just the opposite. The Shawnee Mission East kids one bay down might be trying to out drive each other and are perfectly content to scream, shout, and jump up and down upon meeting that end… and it’s encouraged. The music is loud, too, and they have already received noise complaints from local neighbors.
In the end, it’s worth the experience to give Top Golf a try when the time is right and the mood strikes. Stay away if you have any shred of golf decency in your body. Similarly, you’ll know you’re the horse’s rear when you’re toting in your own clubs while most of the patrons here either rent or use the «house clubs» already positioned at the mats. It’s a wild experience, but just not my cup of tea.

The facility is top notch and the food and service was great. Not intimidating as a first time golfer of any sort and all employees were super friendly.
Only complaint was that our fan in Bay 210 was broken and no one could fix it since it was a warranty game. I would give ppl at heads up before placing them there because when its 90°+ degrees out it gets so hot.

So I recently had the opportunity to check out the new Top Golf located in Overland Park, KS. This is not the first Top Golf I have been to, so I feel like I had a pretty good idea of what to expect.
For those of you who have never been to a Top Golf, you need to think more like a bowling ally but golf themed. This isn’t a traditional driving range. It’s a 3 level driving range, with GPS equipped balls in which the object of any of the games you can select, is to have your golf ball land in one of several target pits of varying size and distance. Doing so gets you points. Like a bowling center, you are charged based on the time you use the facility. I believe their rates are $ 20 hr during the week and $ 40 hr on weekends.
The facility has a full bar and kitchen, as well as other bar games like darts and pool tables. The menu has some very interesting and delicious looking flair on it. However all of the food I ordered came out cold, the fries were soggy, and the bar drinks weren’t mixed well. Also our server was no where to be found at times to the point that the employee I was there with often had to go fetch her. I really expected more from the service side of the facility, hence the 3 star rating.
In the end I think this place will be a big hit to the area and I expect it to be constantly busy. I just hope they get the kitchen and service issues up to snuff so that this facility can be the 5 star joint it’s capable of being.
Even if you don’t golf or never have golfed, don’t be afraid to at least go try Top Golf once.
