Specialties
We assist older adults and their families with the physical and emotional components of their move from their homes to smaller, more manageable environments (independent living, assisted living, apartment). Older adults feel in control of the process instead of overwhelmed as we lead them to make good decisions. We coordinate the multitude of details from AT&T to unpacking and setting up the new home. Certified relocation and transition specialist Gerre Wade creates your floor plan and along with her team, sorts, tags, packs and makes arrangements for movers, estate sales, charity and shipments to family members. We carry appropriate insurance and all employees are background checked. National Association of Senior Move Managers Circle of Service member. In business since 2007.
History
Established in 2007.
Senior Move Services grew out of Gerre Wade’s personal experience with her reluctant father as she assisted his move to independent living from his home of more than fifty years. With improved nutrition and companionship, his health improved significantly from seven hospitalizations in one year to one hospitalization in the next two years. She saw the immediate benefits enjoyed by her father and believed that she could offer the same outcome to other older adults in similar situations. After researching senior move managers online, Gerre took extensive training in the field of senior moving and gained certification as a relocation and transition specialist. She attends the National Association of Senior Move Managers conference yearly where she learns the latest and best practices in her field so she can offer these skills to her clients.
