This store always maintains an excellent and diverse stock of beer, liquor, cordials, and wines. Megabeers and craft beers are both represented with singles, six packs, and cases available.
Whether you’re looking for cheap, Very Special, añejo, or whathaveyou, they have you covered.
And the hours are great. Staff is friendly.
I shop here every time I come to town to visit family.

Large selection of wines… I mean LARGE! Pretty comprehensive collection of craft beer. But missing the really hard to find and select craft brews. Place is just a warehouse of alcohol! If they dont have it… Theres a good chance you are out of luck!

Great selection, clean, friendly service and their open tastings this is my new favorite place to shop.

This is my favorite liquor store! Just freakin’ amazing! Why? Maybe let’s just start with a list:
–Fairly extensive wine selection of varying price ranges and varieties to make any wino happy!
–Ability to build your own 6 pack
–Rum, rum, rum, rum! Holy crap, people! An entire row of nothing but various types and flavors of rum! Who does that?
–Overall selection: If they don’t have it, probably nobody else in the area does, either!
–Clean store that is laid out well so you can get in and out in a hurry if you like.
–Friendly and helpful staff
–They sometimes even have tastings during the day on the weekends. It’s totally MDL’s fault that I now know that I love limoncello. Probably wouldn’t have ever known that if I hadn’t tried it there.
Yes, I do check out other liquor stores every once in a while, but I have never found one that I prefer to MDL.

MDL is one of the best liquor stores by far along with great customer service! And pretty stoked it is so close to me! I definitely frequent it often. Prices are comparable and there is always a deal going on. Always look around up front to check those deals out. Also if you add yourself to their email list they’ll let you know when there fabulous tastings are! Which are fabulous to say the least. I love the beer tasting but I must say my favorite table is the very first one right at the front of the door. It’s a mixed drink one with something different every time (usually seasonable). The recipe is always there for the taking so you can recreate whatever it is you’re sampling!

I’ll be posting many updated reviews for this business, due to it’s close proximity for me. Tonight’s visit was as good as before … employees are so helpful, nice, and awesome!
Tip: Check out the front of the store; after I bought my 3 beers (see uploaded pictures), I found the $ 1.00/bottle bin. That’s pretty cool, if you’re looking for an inexpensive couple of beers.
The selection of beers they offer is over the top. One of the best things in life is exploring new breweries!!! This visit, I sampled 3 beers from Anchor Brewing Company out of San Francisco, CA. The Barley Wine Style was my favorite!!! Wonderful complex flavor profile!!!

We don’t guzzle booze too often, but when it’s time for a few adult beverages, we hit MDL.
Big place. Good selection. Prices seem better than most of the other options in the immediate vicinity.
I don’t enjoy the grape, but I’m sure that those who dig wine can find what they want at MDL. The large area devoted to wine looks pretty impressive.

Big fan of this location on 95^th Street in OPKS. Always a solid number of beers, liquor, and wine. They have a great selection of craft beers (in their own coolers on the west side of the store), international brews (northwest coolers), and traditional American brews (north coolers). Also a great selection of local beers and liquors.
The wine «room» provides an excellent selection of both local, domestic, and international bottles. You’ll be hard-​pressed to not find a bottle you’d like to try here.
Staff are friendly, lines are always short, stock is always readily available. A great one-​stop shop for your drinking needs.
The con is having to purchase non-​alcoholic items next door. This is a Kansas thing, not an MDL thing. I wish KS would get their act together and just allow everything to be sold in the same store. It’s a pain to walk 5 feet to the other «store» for ice, mixes, toothpicks, or tonic water. Kansas, «let my liquor go.»

I absolutely love this place! I saw a review that the employees weren’t very helpful but I have always experienced the exact opposite. Everyone there is always extremely helpful and honest. The prices are decent and the atmosphere is very unlike the typical liquor store. Always impressed.

Great selection of beer! Great selection of everything else, too, but I am a beer snob. MDL never lets me down. One thing I LOVE is that the staff greets me nonchalantly when I walk in, and then they leave me alone. I can spend a good 20 to 30 minutes standing in front of the beer coolers making decisions. It’s kind of like when I used to stand in front of the open fridge when I was a kid, only my mom doesn’t yell at me for it.
Aisles are spacious and the place is spotless. Seriously. For wine lovers, a HUGE wine section is on the west side of the store. I think that’s where they keep the fancy stuff, as the cheap stuff is on the east side. Anyway, no complaints about MDL.

One of my favorite liquor store. Store looks much smaller on the outside that it is on the inside. Great selection of both liquor and beer. They even have wine! The customer service is super nice, they’re always friendly!

This is certainly one of the better selections for wine and spirits. I can almost always find what I’m looking for or at least something cool or new to try. There is always one person there who can answer any liquor or wine questions I might have. I do wish their european wine collection was a little more extensive, but the midwest isn’t as big of a consumer so I understand the need for more California and Australian wine which is more popular, but they do have some great bordeaux and spanish wine options.

People are helpful if I have questions, but they let me do my thing if I don’t. I’m not a big drinker, but use wines to cook with, and they have a decent selection of single-​serve wines so I don’t have to buy a whole bottle and end up wasting the rest of it after cooking with what I need.

Nothing but great things to say about this place. They have multiple check out lanes, so there is rarely a line. The liquor and beer selection is extensive. But, the winner here is the wine. They have a separate wing to the store that is huge and has an awesome selection. Different vintages of the same wine are common here, which is fantastic.
Store is huge, staff is friendly and it’s down the street from me. Can’t complain about a thing here.

The selection here is amazing, the prices are comparable to pretty much any liquor store. The employees are always helpful, friendly & give great suggestions if needed.

I was very impressed with MDL, especially after driving to 3 or 4 other liquor stores that did not carry what we were looking for, Bushmills 10. Now, you may not be as specific about your Irish Whisky, however, my father is particular about his Bushmills 10, and we were set on stocking up. We found it among thousands of other bottles of alcohol at MDL. I read the review about their «old» beer selection, and have to admit, I didn’t even look at that side of the store, as mentioned, we were on a mission. This place was huge and had liquors I had never heard of. I did take the time to look at their wine selection, they carried a few brands that I had recently spent more money purchasing at either Costco or World Market.
Maybe this place has improved, or maybe it’s just not a place to go for beer, but we were definitely satisfied and pleased with their wine and hard alcohol selection. In fact, dad also found Bushmills 16, so we left with a few bottles of each. Mission accomplished.

MDL is a biggish liquor store near 95^th and Metcalf. It’s an excellent source of really old beer, not aged beer, old beer. You can find out of season seasonals littering the shelves. The staff pairs malaise at their situation with scorn for the customer.
They get 2 stars because they do typically have what I’m looking for, the store is clean and they have pretty good specials from time to time that they advertise on their Facebook page (which isn’t the norm for a liquor store, especially in Kansas).
MDL is an option if you know what you’re looking for, won’t need any help and possibly pay the least amount possible. Odds are, though, you’ll feel a little dirty about yourself after visiting.
