For a restaurant, this makes a pretty good bar. Main thing to recommend it is a really nice beer selection. And the staff behind the bar was friendly and helpful. Plus the turntable is really cool. Food is meh.

This place is so weird. What passes for a club/entertainment in Johnson County. Doucebags galore. Completely devoid of character and personality. $ 5 cover charge pisses me off, but I think that’s just on weekends. Great beer selection is the only saving grace. Band was acceptable. Charging $ 1 for water after the band starts is ridiculous. I can’t understand the draw to 119 South. But it’s the only place offered for«going out» in JoCo. Will probably never be back.

Came here on a Wednesday night — they had $ 3 boulevard draws, $ 5 off pizza, AND live music. Pretty good combination. There was no one there though… Like 8 people total, with most siting at the bar. That was a little weird, especially with the live music. Maybe next time there will be more people to enjoy it! With so few people, I couldn’t tell what kind of crowd this place attracts. It’s near a country bar and a biker bar but I didn’t get a vibe from this place. I’d come back for the music!

I was looking for a nice place to chill for some bar food and craft beer. While not the easiest to find as they’re tucked away far into a shopping plaza on the corner of 119th and Metcalf, they were worth the journey. Local Tap is 1 of several bars/restaurants/clubs known as One Block South. This includes Fuel American and Local Tap. They seem to have entertainment on most busy nights. They also have an outdoor patio area which seemed to be hopping. I was chillin’ by the bar listening to their assortment of 70’s/80’s music played on vinyl with an old turntable. I chose Local Tap for their better variety of craft beer. I just missed their«halfy» happy hour by a few minutes which would have significantly reduced my bill. For snacks I had the fried mushrooms which were quite heavily breaded and also the Bacon Pie. I probably should have started with the bacon pie which is a dip blend of bacon, barbecue sauce and cheese served with potato chips for dipping. That made the Boulevard The Calling go down that much better.

Stopped in because they had the word ‘tap’ in their name, wasn’t thrilled about the $ 5 cover… they had every beer that mattered on tap. As for the pizza by the slice, best I’ve had in a long time. Excellent job local tap!
