We went to Mahoney’s last Sunday for dinner and in full disclosure we have eaten there 4 or 5 other times. We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer. Like other reviews, they are the best cheese curds I have ever eaten. I ordered the Slow Burn(Burger), my son had the Slow Burn(CHX), and my wife ordered the Turkey Reuben. All the sandwiches were very good. It was a slow night with only a few tables occupied and the service was good. We will continue to patronize this place when up in Oshkosh.

From out of town. The positive reviews speak true. Walleye was this pick and deserved the rate. Mac & Cheese was very good. Atmosphere is very relaxed. The service at the bar tables was excellent. Glad we came here!!!

Excellent soups, sandwiches, and hamburgers. When Mahoney’s says that their dishes are made from scratch in their kitchen… believe them. Really great service, as well, in a fantastic and welcoming environment.

Really good food. Had a steak and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. My date had the shrimp pasta and that was also very good. Make excellent old fashions and I haven’t found a place that makes them better. It is on the expensive side but very much worth it

I love this restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is always good. The cheese curds are fantastic and I love the Pear and Brie PB&J. It’s unique and it’s a combination that I now get cravings for.

Had the Ahi Tuna Club and my husband had mushroom meatloaf. Fantastic! Great food just too much of it when we were traveling. The server was more than helpful and we didn’t wait long for anything.

Went here for dinner on Tuesday. We chose this place because of the patio seating. It was a beautiful day out & we wanted to enjoy our dinner outside. The service sucked! They were so slow about everything. They took forever to take our order, we had to go to the bar & order drinks & our appetizer. I ordered some melonade thing for my drink. It was pretty good. It crept up on me. I was pleasantly surprised. We ended up ordering cheese curds for appetizer & red eye burgers, one with Brussel sprouts & the other with garlic parm fries. The cheese curds were literally the best cheese curds I’ve ever had. They were so freaken good! I will be dreaming about these forever… The burger… was ok. It wasn’t good, it wasn’t bad. I’ve had better. The garlic parmesan fries were good, but super salty! I tried the Brussel sprouts. It had bacon in it & I loved it. In a weird way, it tasted healthy, even with all the bacon. I think I would go back, but just for drinks & the cheese curds!

In oshkosh for the big fly in and air show. stopped in this joint Friday night with 3 friends. between us we ordered a steak broasted chicken pot roast and a wrap of some sort broasted chicken was good and my friends were happy as far as i know. not a horrible experience but for the price i expect a better level of food. they have good ideas but the execution is not up to par. three stars due to the friendly server.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was excellent. My husband had the walleye trout and said it was excellent. I had an oriental cabbage salad topped with grilled salmon and loved it.

We are venturing farther from our usual airport-perimeter haunts this year since we’re in Oshkosh early for the airshow, and headed to Mahoney’s for a night. It was a gorgeous pre-sunset evening, but the patio looked pretty full so we grabbed a seat at the bar. Unfortunately, since the patio doors were completely open, the a/c was blasting hard directly on everyone in the bar area. That took a few minutes to acclimate to. We split an order of cheese curds and the walleye w/veggies dinner. Both were fantastic. The cheese curds were gooier(not as squeaky) than most places we have had them but were perfectly done and flavored. The walleye had a fantastic presentation with the pesto mashed potatoes, veggies, and balsamic drizzle. Drinks were about average, although they have a few infused vodkas for specialty drinks that look really good. Service was friendly but not particularly attentive. The bartenders tended to walk by without making eye contact or noticing empty glasses a fair amount, but when they did notice, service had a smile. We were full enough after splitting a dinner that we couldn’t even think about dessert. Maybe on the next visit.

Ok, I am officially done with Mahoney’s. Our last visit was around 7pm on a Sunday. We opted to sit in the dining room(mainly hoping for better service than in the bar area), and upon asking for an order of cheese curds, we were informed that they were out. Really? We settled for the mussels appetizer instead, which was quite tasty, but not the cheese curds I’d been craving. I opted for the Italian burger, no bun(low carb diet), and a bowl of their delicious tomato basil soup. Honestly, that soup, and the recollection that they had cheese curds, were the only reasons I agreed to dinner here in the first place. However, when my soup was brought out with my meal, as I had requested, it was decidedly lukewarm at best. I had to flag down the waitress, and when I informed her that my soup was not hot, she promptly admitted that it was her fault, because she had served it up in the kitchen and then let it sit until my meal was ready. Excuse me? Do you not understand that soup gets cold pretty quickly, and lukewarm soup that then quickly gets totally cold is not at all appetizing? She seemed surprised when I confirmed that yes, I would like it warmed up, and the returned dish 1) had decidedly less soup in it(I had eaten approximately two spoonfuls) and 2) was steaming, piping hot, clearly fresh out of the microwave. While the soup is delicious, I don’t remotely understand the difficulties I encountered. The waitress apologized, but I don’t get why she did something so ditzy in the first place. Also, my water glass was refilled exactly once, after I had drunk all of it and resorted to stealing the boyfriend’s, and instead of bringing a pitcher, the glasses were removed from the table and then returned. I was not offered an additional refill and there was no one in the dining room to ask. I saw a manager-type person walking around, but he did not stop at any tables to see how things were — and believe me, I would have given him an earful! So lousy service and cold, mediocre food do not make me a fan of Mahoney’s. I am done.

Relied on Unilocal to find somewhere to eat while traveling… what a great find! When we pulled up I was leery this might be another standard bar fare restaurant, but those concerns were quickly put to rest! Homemade hand breaded cheese curds, Makers Mark Old Fashioned’s and The sangria was perfect! Everything tasted fresh to order, crispy broasted chicken, amazing salmon and homemade grown up mac and cheese are leaving us looking forward to returning next time we are in town. Good service, a patio facing the sun and surprisingly great food all add up to a win in my book!

Amazing food and incredible service. The PB and Brie J was amazing! I would recommend this to anyone. We were traveling from out of town and were greeted as locals, what a welcoming experience for this New Yorker!

Let me start off by saying that we had the nicest, most wonderful server ever! Jason was exceptional, personable, and just lovely. The cheese curds were delicious! Fresh, still squeaky, lightly battered, and super stretchy. They rival the best cheese curds that I have ever had. The rest of the food was another story. I had the haddock sandwich and it was ok. Too salty for my taste. My date had the Italian with chicken and she thought it was delicious. The Parmesan fries were another story. They were totally inedible. Powdered Parmesan just wrecked these crispy fries. There was a ton of it too! Gross… Just gross. I would rather have fresh Parmesan and less of it than what was served. They really have some potential but need to do a little work in the kitchen.

Finally decided to give this place a go. We ordered the parmesan garlic fries and the ghost pepper Yolo BBQ wings and they were delicious! The server warned us they’d be spicy but that didn’t bother me one bit. Personally I would have loved for it to be even hotter, but for this area being deprived of «spicy» foods, this definitely hit the spot! I’ll be back for more of them. I wonder if they can even make a special ghost pepper sauce without the bbq? I also got the mac n cheese which was very yummy, but it needed something more, maybe some bacon or even a mix your own with different toppings or types of cheeses. I can’t wait to come back and try some other menu items. For it being more upscale I love how they think outside the box a bit too. Kudos!

A great restaurant for the whole family! Upon entering the establishment we greeted and seated very quickly. We ordered some of the homemade cheese curds which I would highly recommend trying… they were very good. Pepsi products but also have Dr Pepper for soda which was a good thing(not really a Pepsi product fan myself but to each their own… nevertheless they have Dr Pepper). We also looked at their hot drinks list and found another thing I highly recommend: Hot Buttered Rum. The drink was very good with cinnamon sugar around the rim. Very good stuff! We ordered our meals and didn’t have to wait long at all. The Italian with chicken sandwich was very good(pesto mayo was a nice addition to the chicken). Also had the garlic Parmesan fries sticking with the theme which were also very good. The other big meal ordered was the Mac and cheese with chicken, another good hearty meal. Kids meals did not disappoint either and I was happy to hear«Would you like fries or apples?» It may seem a small thing but not all kids meals really give healthy choices so I thought it was cool. Service here was also amazing with just the right balance of attention and space. The outside fire features were also going when we left and were really cool to go see. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Service Atmosphere Quality This place nails it on all three. My mom and I came in for dinner on a Saturday night when gradation was taking place and there were multiple show’s taking place around town. We were seated immediately. Our server, Deb, was far more attentive than we expected considering how busy she was! She gave great recommendations and we settled on sharing the apple stout ribs. We enjoyed the atmosphere so much that we moved over to the bar for post-dinner drinks. Hands down, my new favorite place in Oshkosh. I’ll be there again, and I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for great food in the area!

Pretty decent bar with good wait staff. I’ve been here a few times and it’s never too loud and it’s an overall good time.
