We ordered three entrees and all of them were so delectable. The food taste like home cooking. I rarely writes reviews but this one deserved one.

This place was kind of a whole in the wall. You order at the counter, they give you a number, bring food to your table and then you go back to the counter to pay at the end. Everyone working there was very nice and the food was delicious and inexpensive! I’m glad Unilocal tipped us off to this place. The food: My mom got the gyro combo and said it was good. I got the veggie burger with fries and also a small salad. It was all great. The salad was fresh with a lot of the extras on top(they didn’t skim on the tomatoes and cucumber). The fries were good and the veggie burger really impressed me! I don’t eat meat and it’s always disappointing when the one thing on the menu you will eat comes out dry and inedible, but it was actually delicious! I would definitely return here and recommend it to others looking for a casual dining experience. EDIT: I also forgot to mention that we got the moroccan tea and it was AMAZING! Definitely try it if you go!

This place serves offers an authentic Moroccan menu. With all of the delights and tastes of Morocco. When you first walk in you feel like you’re in a regular place because it’s simple and open seating. Then you meet the man behind the counter with that big smile. I had a very, very tasty dish of lamb shanks, rice, mint tea and Moroccan bread. Extremely flavorful ! THEMENUHASDISHESFOREVERYFAMILYMEMBERFROM3 – 99. If you want to BREAK away from the average franchise restaurants in Orlando and eat well at a very reasonable price, this is the place.

The food scene in and around Disney is awash with mediocre chain restaurants of all types and prices. We didn’t really want that, so we went looking for something different and ultimately stumbled upon this place. It’s decent Moroccan food. Their sausage is tasty. Their sauces are well flavored. They use green olives liberally in their dishes. The prices are good. The service is helpful and friendly. Best of all… The place is not swarming with obese tourists from the Midwest! The food is definitely good enough to check out if you are looking for something different in the area.

We found this unassuming little place this past weekend, due to its proximity to our hotel by the Orange County Convention Center. We were a little concerned about what we could expect for the quality of the food, as the small restaurant looked to be sort of deli style. The employees were very gracious and soon had us happily digging into some spectacular offerings. Our group of six always orders up different dishes and we serve them family style so everyone gets a taste. We ordered: Chicken tagine — my equal place tie for favorite Chicken briwat — the star of the meal for everyone Beef briwat — delicious and complex Kefka kabobs — my equal place tie for favorite 3 meat mixed grill — perfection 4 meat mixed grill — perfection Veggie gyro — tender and flavorfull (The rice was amazing and not one grain was left on any plate) **Be aware that the couscous is only available on Fridays, so vegetarian options are limited– but still delicious!

First, as of this writing, the restaurant is not where the GPS takes you! Close, but in the commercial area next to the GPS target on the same side of the street. The search is well worth it! The food and service are excellent. It can get quite busy and crowded, especially on couscous days(Only Friday). On our first visit we had the Moroccan Combo, gyro platter, Moroccan tea and expresso. We wanted to order so many things that all sounded delicious. The gyro meat was superb. Seemingly homemade, nice flavor and spices. Chicken had a wonderful marinade. The beef and merguez were quite tasty and mild. For spicy, ask for hotter sauce. Vegetables are very flavorful as well. Salad, bread and sauces were also a part of our order. The staff are really great; most helpful, and patient in explaining their preparations. You do self order and the meals are brought to the table. Ample portions. Don’t over-order. You should find the bill quite reasonable and the experience worth an unsolicited tip. If we lived here, we’d be regulars. In fact, we met a local couple who do eat here once-a-week. That says a lot for an area with so many eateries.

Very local Resturant. Means you enter, you will feel it’s a take out place. But very good quality of Moroccan food. Very tasty lamb shank, with absolutely no lamb small. Chicken Tagine was very good too. Excellent value food. Good service. Don’t expect fancy ambiance.

Having never been to Morocco I cannot verify the authenticity of the food, but I can say that it was really good. We shared Briwat combo, chicken tagine and four meat grill. The staff were courteous and pleasant, the place is clean ave well maintained. We ate inside. The sauce for the briwat was a little like a marinara, but the briwat themselves were beautifully seasoned. The mixed grill was very well prepared. I loved the spicy merguez best, but all were very good. The tagine flavor was really a delight as I wish I could recreate it. Great balance of acid and sweet spice. We will definitely be back!

Wow! What a find! I was on South I drive recently and we decided to grab some dinner. We saw this place was down the street and had pretty good reviews on Unilocal and we decided to check it out. I am so glad we did! The restaurant is located in a shopping center. It is a rather impressive looking shopping center, but the restaurant is kind of tucked away in a corner. It is a counter service restaurant, so nothing fancy. You place your order at the counter and you can have a seat inside at one of the few tables in there or there are also a few tables outside. We chose a table outside. We put our number on the table and waited for our food. I ordered the kefta kabobs and they were excellent. The kabobs had a great flavor, but it was served with a sauce that you could dip in to enhance the flavor. The kabobs were served over a bed of delicious rice and with a side Greek salad. My only complaint is that they were supposed to offer me a choice of salad and they did not. My Greek salad was served with ranch dressing. What in the world?! I hate ranch and it was all over it, so I didn’t get to eat any of the salad. It was kind of ok though because the portion was pretty large and I really couldn’t finish the meal anyway. My friends ordered a kabob and a sandwich. My friend who ordered the sandwich was disappointed in her meal, but the two of us who ordered kabobs really enjoyed them. Addiditionally, we found the prices to be pretty reasonable. Each meal was about $ 9. If I am ever in the area I will definitely be back.

Wednesday evening in Orlando on a work trip. We always try to find somewhere new to eat — a culinary adventure, if you will. So, thanks Unilocalers — you brought us to Merguez! It is a tiny little place where you order at the counter. Don’t let that throw you off. We asked for suggestions and were told to try the Briwat trio, the Moroccan combo, and we picked the Lamb Shank and Moroccan tea. We loved the Briwat trio. The beef briwat is served with a smoky red sauce — very tasty! The seafood briwat had a nice spicy kick and the chicken briwat had a lovely sweetness. We had the lamb next. I think we licked the plate. Literally. Amazing. We were less thrilled with the Moroccan Combo. After the luxury of the lamb, the combo meats were dry to our palates. The tea was lovely. It was hot and sweet and minty. All in all a nice meal — we appreciated the recommendations and the staff were very nice in answering questions we had about the food, culture, etc.

Came by for a quick view to eat in the way to drop my husband to the airport and enjoyed a pretty decent meal. We shared a 3 meat mixed grill and a chicken tagine. The meat was all grilled to perfection and tender but wasn’t my favorite. The taste was a little bland. The rice was delicious. The bread tasted fresh and was soft. They served every mixed grill but one with tatziki. Seems like they just forgot because they brought one when we asked about it. They also only brought one set of flatware… the rest of us just used plastic. The set up is confusing and the woman in the front was not very helpful. We entered and we were not sure where to sit or how to order. We finally just sat ourselves and after a while realized no one was going to come over to us. I finally asked the lady where we had to order and she said up front. I am so confused… was she going to just let us sit there all night?

This is my first time sitting down and eating, we went around 7pm and there was only two other couples in there. while placing our order and waiting a lot of people were coming in to pick up their. Orders. When you walk in it is a decent amount of tables as well as outside seating. You place your order at the counter they give you a number ad you go and find a seat and once the food is ready they bring it to you. It is a family owned restaurant and the owners were There very nice couple and the mother was there, they greeted you like you were family. I ordered chicken kabob platter it came with salad with a ranch dressing rice and two skewers or chicken. There was no sauce in the chicken which I was afraid of because most of the time the chicken is dry. This chicken was however not dry at all! It wAs tasty, it did come with a side of tomato base sauce which I did not need to use We got a mousse type desert chocolate which was good however too sweet for my taste We also got Moroccan mint tea which comes already sweeten and it was just the right amount of sweet I will def be back to try other things on the menu!

Yet another Unilocal hidden gem. It’s Ramadan and I believe they have different business hours, my wife called mid afternoon last week to see if they sell any Moroccan sweets(brewat, chebbakia), they said they did but they weren’t open until 5:00 pm. Location: can’t remember which address we plugged into the GPS, needless to say, it didn’t take us to the restaurant. If you end up at the CiCi’s pizza plaza, make a left out of that plaza and head west, Merguez restaurant is located at the next plaza to the left. Food: due to the holly month of Ramadan, there are a few items crossed off from the menu but you still have other options. For those of us who are fasting, we were served a plate full of different items; Rice, deep fried tilapia fish, boiled egg, dates, kefta, ze3louk, piece of bread, seafood spring roll, msemmen and beghreer. Plenty of food to eat and you can’t possibly finish all of it. The meal also included a bottle of water, a bowl or traditional Moroccan hrira and a bowl of carrot juice. Would definitely come back and try other authentic Moroccan food.

What food we did receive was pretty good, but they left out half the order. The service is good if you can find someone, but they like to disappear in the back for long periods of time. I got the chicken panini, which wasn’t a panini, but a grilled chicken sandwich instead. To be classified as a panini, the sandwich must be inserted into a panini grill press, which I do not think this sandwich was. It just did not have the characteristics of being pressed. And, it took 20 minutes to come out. The floors were a little dirty while we were there, and not once did any employees clean anything during our visit. There was only one customer there other than us, and one guy playing on electronics with no shoes and his feet propped up in a chair. The music was driving me bonkers! Overall, there are just too many negatives to go back to this establishment, and I just can’t recommend it either.

Fabulous! !! Went there twice within one week! Loved every meal… it reminded me of real authentic moroccan dishes! If fact. many of the customers were moroccan! I went back on Friday to try the couscous but it was GONE by 7:45pm! So we ended up trying chicken bastilla and chicken tajine… both delicious! The chef also adjusted the spices to our liking.(love it spicy!) The setting is nice and casual. .definitely going back.

Go on Fridays for the best couscous in Orlando!!! Back in middle school, a Moroccan teacher named Mrs. Afifi made an amazingly delicious, wonderfully flavored, exotic dish that I instantly fell in love with. It was lamb couscous. That lamb couscous became the standard against which I measure all couscous I’ve ever had. And none ever measured up. But, for the first time, I’ve found one that could give Mrs. Afifi’s couscous a run for its money. Restaurant Merguez serves couscous only on Fridays. They make a limited quantity. I speak from experience when I say come before 8pm. They do run out. It’s simply the best couscous in Orlando. I wish it was a regular item on the menu. But if serving it only on Fridays guarantees it’ll be this delicious every time, I’m ok with tyem serving it once a week. A MUSTHAVE.

Welcome to Morocco, ladies and gentleman. We came for a Friday lunch, it was all local Moroccans eating here, which is testament to authenticity. We ordered Merguez which is something I was looking for since we visited Morocco 2 years ago. It was just like I remember it from LaGrillaDaire in Meknes, Morocco. They aren’t the fastest place but sit back, relax and good food is on its way. Update 3÷8÷2015: This place just lost a whole star for what they did today. I am a regular here now, coming as often as possible. We ordered some Moroccan Mint Tea with our meal. When we got it, it was probably an oversight but it was over brewed so it was very bitter. I did what any person would do which was to take it back and kindly ask for a replacement. 60 – 90 seconds later I get the same tea pot with cold water added to it so now its warm diluted over brewed bitter tea. As a Moroccan tea maker myself I know that between brewing and steeping you need about 4 – 6 minutes. I can overlook long cook times. I can overlook even as a new restaurant many times they are out of key signature dishes(although I think that is starting to get out of hand now) but what that was is either the employee got offended that I didnt like the tea or didnt feel like redoing the tea, either way its unacceptable. A 5 star rating is great food and great service. I have had over 6 pots of tea at that place(6 check ins) and its been perfect every time. The loss of a star has nothing to do with the $ 2.99 pot of tea, but rather how the restaurant handled an unhappy guest. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt by keeping their star rating at 4. If they keep running out of key ingredients like Merguez which is THEIRTITLE, then I might have to update this review.
