Gold’s Gym

I find this gym very dirty. It rarely looks clean n smells sweaty. Its always hot like ac is not running. Staff are not very friendly.

This is a great gym overall. TONS and I mean TONS of equipment. The price is great and the best part is that it is 24 hours. I have been to 24 hour fitness down town Orlando (which is also a great gym) and I have seen a multitude of LA Fitness’ (Which are all garbage) and Gold’s is the best one. It does have over 10,000 members and I’m pretty sure that from 5−8pm they are all in the building at the same time (not exaggerating) but any other time you don’t have to wait for anything and It’s a good time.

The cardio theater is the best! Gym is always clean and always being updated, which is nice because most gyms just collect that yearly fee that «goes to updating the gym» and never does.
The filtered water is seriously one of the best ideas. Who actually drinks unfiltered FL water?
Everything is always very clean, and when machines break they are fixed/​replaced promptly.
The staff is friendly and knowledgable, and I’ve never seen a better variety of equipment and different things/​classes to try. Best gym I’ve ever belonged to.

I went to Gold’s Gym for 2 days during a business-​related trip. Entry into this Gold’s Gym is included in my Blue Cross Blue Shield fitness program membership (a really great deal — look into it if you have BCBS or related insurance!)
There are 2 group fitness rooms — one right next to the front entrance, and one in the back right corner. The Zumba classes that I went to on weekday evenings were all in the front one. That classroom, at least, has an elevated stage so that you can easily see the instructor, as well as a party-​like atmosphere when the instructors turn the lights down low and turn on the colorful, moving simulated-​disco-​ball-​type lights.
To access the free towel service, you apparently have to pay extra each month because this is considered a premium service.
There is also a small café at the front of the gym, serving things such as salads, sandwiches, smoothies, etc.
The Zumba classes I attended were taught by Raul and Ana. They were both fun, and Raul’s was slightly more high impact than Ana’s. However, Raul’s music was SO loud that after the class, my ears were ringing. Distinctly unpleasant.

Pros:
Overall this gym is AMAZING. they have great overall instructors and really good classes. There are ALOT OF MACHINES!!! The people here are of all backgrounds and so far I haven’t had to deal with any «meathead» behavior lol
The cinema cardio room is the best idea ever. They have great movies playing.
The ladies have a special area to workout NO MEN ALLOWED! Which is great!
Cons:
The cycle room NEEDS new machines. Seriously. I can’t get through a class without my butt and pelvic region hurting. I am not new to cycle class either. My old gym’s cycle class was great!!!
MORE fit barre class. They only have it at 830 in the MORNING!!!

Excellent gym — by money the best in Orlando. Everything anyone could want in one gym. From cardio to supplements to Crossfit — they have it here. One of my favorite gyms in the country.

Amazing, powerful, full of drive classes all week long.

This gym has all the equipment you need and more. It is 24 – 7 which is especially great on the weekends if I have things I want to do during the day. The gym is clean, well equipped, parking is never an issue, and the staff has always been helpful and friendly. The equipment at this Golds is truly top of the line.

By far this is my most favorite gym in all of Central Florida. The staff definitely takes care of the facility and continuously finds new ways to keep it up to date. It does get crowded at times and it has your usual amount of douches, but… stick to your routine and make the best of your time.
Bathroom & Shower facility is clean. Trainers look like trainers. People actually clean up and wipe down equipment. And… people help motivate one another. PLUS!!! They are open 24hours unlike other gyms.

I’ve tried Planet Fitness and the new Signature LA Fitness in Windermere and among the three this place is the best!
I had personal training with Jonathan Bloodworth (MMA Fighter) and he’s the real deal. He’s super friendly, very knowledgeable and he knows how to push you. I have lower back issues and he knew exactly what I needed to do to strengthen my back while avoiding injury. I used to do Tae Kwon Do, so sometimes we would spar. He also taught me some boxing techniques. Jon taught me proper technique for everything and we did so many different types of exercises (using machines, free weights, body weight, martial arts, cardio) that I never got bored.
In my experience, the staff is super friendly. They always greet me with a smile and still when I leave the gym. They’re also always willing to help. They have no problem answering any questions and if they don’t have the answer, they’re happy to redirect you to someone that does.
Everytime I go, the facilities are very clean. They have disinfectant spray and towels at almost every machine. The ladies locker room is always clean. And I always see a staff member cleaning down equipment too!
This gym is huge by the way! There are so many machines, free weights and workout areas. They also have a separate workout area upstairs for ladies that you can only access by going through the ladies’ locker room. There’s also a cycle studio and two other separate studios. The Cardio Cinema is spacious and really awesome. They have a theme for the week and each day they play one movie on loop that goes with the theme. I can watch a movie while on the treadmill, stair master, bike or elliptical, it’s so great! It definitely helps time fly by. There are mirrors on almost all of the walls, which I love, so I can check my technique. I also love that they have TRX systems and they’re awesome. There’s also a Kiddie Gym daycare center here and a hydromassage machine, which I use after every workout. I also really like that there are showers, a sauna, and a tanning bed in the ladies’ locker room (obviously can’t speak for the men’s). Oh there’s also a masseuse with a separate area located in front of the women’s locker room and there’s another room where you can get fat melting laser treatments done. I also really like that the water fountains have an automatic attachment on the wall that makes it super easy to refill your bottle.
I love that there are 3 different studios (1 separate cycling studio) for classes. They offer a good variety of classes: Zumba, Body Pump, Yoga, CXWORKS, Pilates, cycling classes and so many more. And these studios keep the sound out from the main area of the gym. For instance, during yoga class, it’s nice that you can’t hear what’s going on in the main gym. That’s a huge problem I had with the Signature LA Fitness. The one studio is next to the racquet ball courts and you can literally hear the racket (pun intended). It was very difficult concentrating and getting into a relaxed mood, which is essential for yoga.
There’s also a café called Amazon Café. I haven’t tried it yet but it looks good and I think it’s nice that they offer it.
In my opinion, the most important factor to staying fit is staying motivated. And I’m always motivated to do my best working out here. There are so many fit people that workout here (something I unfortunately did not experience at Planet Fitness or LA Fitness), it’s really hard not to be motivated by them! They’re truly inspirational.
On a side note, I don’t know what it is but everytime I come here I always see a bunch of buff dudes. Like I’m usually one of few females I see out in the main area of the gym. I don’t know if my ladies are hiding out upstairs (I’ve been in the ladies’ workout area like three times) or I don’t know if it just happens to be the time I go or if there really are more men that workout here than women (probably the latter). But when I do see a fellow female, she’s usually super fit. So, please don’t let these super fit people deter you from joining. Instead, let them inspire you. You could be missing out.
Dr. Phillips Gold’s Gym is the best! And I’ll continue to keep coming here (going on a year strong) so long as I still live in the area.

Feels like a meat market everytime I’m in here. I like going to the gym working out and leaving. I hate having to deal with annoying people when I work out. I give it two stars because of the movie room.

Front desk staff is completely stupid. Managers are shit. They don’t care about anything but taking your money. I was a member for a year & I couldn’t wait for it to over because of their shitty customer service. Go to L.A. Fitness! Way better all the way around.

Luis at the front desk is an awesome guy — so helpful with all of my questions. Had a problem with my account and he fixed it right away. He gets the 5 star rating!
Dylan is the best when it comes to sign-​ups. I’ve brought a few friends in now — and he’s the guy I always send them to. I’ll know he’ll take care of them!
While you’re at Gold’s make sure you check out the cardio cinema. It’s my favorite workout area.

This gym is amazing. Plenty of space, tons of various equipment, staff is so friendly, free hydro massage, a lifting platform (not a true one but hey I’ll take it, it even has its own little room), massage therapist/​accupuncturist on site. The trainers appear to be competent, which is a huge compliment from me — I teach trainers at a college and in most gyms trainers tend to be morons (especially including the Gold’s gym i go to in NY).
Only reason this isn’t 5 stars is they don’t have bumper plates or 35# plates, and no power racks, just squat racks.

I joined since they opened and still under construction over 10 years ago or so… well, I don’t even remember.
I recently rejoined just to find out this is still THE BEST GYM IN ORLANDO!
Location, Equipment, Members, Cardio Cinema, Music, etc, etc, etc.
If you need to be motivated when training come here! All ages!

Gold’s Gym in Dr. Phillips is a 5 star rating for the front desk staff who are always ultra friendly and smiling, no matter what time you decide to visit.
The 3 star rating comes from the lack of the ability to move in the space, since there is so much equipment. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the setup of the machines, so it can be difficult to navigate where specific machines are for a particular workout. It is tough to squeeze in between machines and walking space is small in general. The Gold’s could use another 2000 square feet with the same amount of equipment.
Like any gym, the members are pretty discourteous about wiping up their own sweat from machines, so the best thing to do is clean the bench, machine, or seats before and after using them. A plus for this gym is that there are plenty of cleaning bottles scattered around the gym and a staff walking around making sure the cleaning solution is full, so you can continue to sanitize if necessary.
Also, like any other gym, prepare to be gawked at and sized up by everyone no matter what your gender or size is. It’s just natural.
If there was a better option in the Dr. Phillips area for the money, I would go, but it’s still nice enough to warrant 3 stars.

I love this gym, I come every day, the best thing about golds for me is the cardio theatre, I also love the women’s section, sometimes I don’t like to squat in front of guys.
My package comes with tanning, hydra massage, group fitness classes and towel service. The showers are pretty nice, clean and there is shampoo, conditioner, and soap in there.
I adore the sauna, it’s my new favorite part of life. It’s a dry sauna so my hair appreciates that. The front desk staff is my favorite, especially Joe, he’s always super friendly and welcoming.
I really don’t like the general manager, she’s rude, dismissive, and so fake. She doesn’t care about any of the members of the gym and although they «accept suggestions and tips» she actually just sends an automatic generic «forget about it» email.
She actually told me that they were considering removing the treadmills from the cardio theatre. REMOVING THE CARDIO FROM THE CARDIO THEATRE.

This gym is serious fitness personified. No slackers here. Come to Gold’s to be serious, be focused, and get the best out of your workout. Absolutely awesome gym. A sea of equipment. Open ²⁴⁄₇. Day pass is good for 24 hours too! I was recently in town for a convention and was able to train here over the course of three days and loved it! A day rate pass is $ 15 and is valid for a full 24 hours. I was able one day to train at 7am, hit the trade show, come back at night, and then use it again the following morning. Three times on one pass — what a great deal!
Just an amazing amount of equipment. Huge array of cardio with a monster wall of tv screens to hook into. So many weights, racks, benches, machines, etc. Upper level with more cardio and machines overlooking the main floor. Cardio and high energy aerobics classes each day. Such an amazing array of equipment everywhere you look. Even have cool water fountains that fill your water bottle by sensor. Store on site to purchase Gold’s gear or grab a protein drink on the way out. Friendly desk staff.

Yes, it is a gym and a good one. But mainly I want to mention that the «kiddie gym» which is the childcare for members is wonderful! The girls are great and my little boy is always excited to go in. There are little areas in there: one with soft stadium seating with a large tv showing kid movies and shows another area has a large indoor playground like at fast food places. I’m pretty picky when it comes to who keeps my toddler but I have no worries while I get my workout in!
