I really like to give little mom and pop shops a try when I travel instead of going to chains. When we arrived here we were a little disappointed. You walk up to the window and are greeted by a not so clean looking gentleman. The quality of the ice cream is not all that either. It melts way too fast. Yes, it is soft serve so it melts faster but not THIS fast. I wouldn’t go here again and I would not recommend it to anyone either. If you are in Orlando and are looking for some awesome soft serve do yourself a favor and go to Ginther’s. Just google it or look it up here on Unilocal. You can thank me later :)

I give this place three stars for its ice cream, but have to remove two for old fruit that I had with a sundae. This place doesn’t try and pretend to be anything — it’s a beat down ice cream shop in one of the scarier parts of Orlando. There is a ton of history here. The soft serve is pretty standard, meaning it’s consistent, and good. I got vanilla ice cream with blueberries and peaches. I found it very off-putting that the fruit came out of an old looking can just covered loosely in plastic wrap, and that it appeared to be months old. I ate about four bites of the sundae and threw the rest away. Owner was very nice and helpful, which is a plus. The person I was with ordered a cone and was very happy with their experience.

Popular ice-cream stand that’s become one of the city’s cultural POIs. Not fancy, but damn good & locally owned. Many local customers and occasionally tourists who are looking for a cold, homegrown cone!

I went here for the first time last night and I had never heard of it before then. My friends insisted we go, telling me it was awesome, and like any huge fan of ice cream would, I obliged. I like the history and the simplicity, but wouldn’t call it the best ice cream experience I’ve ever had. I had a chocolate malt and my friends got the famous banana split. The malt was good, it met expectations. My boyfriend’s banana split looked good, but melted super quickly. It’s worth checking out, but don’t expect anything fancy.

Guys and gals, you gotta go to Goff’s. This little walk-up spot on the SOB Trail near Church Street has been dishing out soft-serve ice cream for 65 years. That’s 65 years! Four stars for longevity.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. The only thing I ever order is the banana split. It’s the best I have ever had! The downside is Goff’s is located on OBT and sometimes there are a few sketchy people lurking around outside. This place is worth the risk of possibly getting knifed. Just kidding… kinda ;-) If you love banana splits like I do, give Goff’s a try! You won’t be sorry! I think there is a $ 5 minimum to use your credit card. Tight parking lot!

I would have given this place 5 stars if my banana split was not melting easily! This place has HISTORY because it has been around for a very long time. My sweety told me about this place and also older peers. lol My sweety thinks THISPLACEMAKESTHEBESTBANANASPLITEVER! So driving to this place I was careful because I heard its such as small shack you may«miss it» if u drive too fast. So driving from work I deciding do I want either a milkshake or a sundae/banana split? I saw the colorful sign on my right and it is a SMALLSHACK. I parked on the side of the shack and immediately saw credit cards sign. I heard many years ago they only accepted cash! So I immediately went to the front and it was a smll window where you can order. Also the ice cream menu was on my right side. The prices are kinda STEEP. A large banana split was $ 5.50. An xlarge was $ 8.00! I heard they r known for their creamy ice cream and their banana splits. so I chose a banana split. Mind you this banana split isnt a typical banana split because it is served in a Styrofoam CUP! They do not use bowls or platters for sundaes n splits… they only use STYROFOAMCUPS. The toppings were crushed pineappple, fresh strawberry, walnuts and a choice of topping — Chocolate or Caramel. If you want both chocolate and caramel its extra 50 or 75 cents i think. The sizes of these cups are somewhat disappointing because for the price you pay its not really the portion but more of «quality» i guess??? The ice cream itself is delicious and very creamy and the toppings were delicious and tasted fresh! The interesting part of this banana split was when you go deeper inside your sundae the toppings on top merges out! I guess they place some of the toppings«inside» of your banana split? LOL Twistee Treat IMO have better tasting Ice cream«custard» itself. However this is a good spot to experience an ice cream shop that have been in business LONGER than twistee treat! I heard their«Milkshakes» ROCKS. I heard especially the«PIneapple» one. May have to stop by here again and try that! They need to improvise either their prices or the portions for people to keep coming back for« Unilocal reviews» IMO because $ 8 for a mediocre styrofoam cup makes you want to experience that maybe only one time — Makes you wanna head to Twistee Treat instead?

kristy’s review: hmm… where do i begin… on our trips to places we haven’t been before, we always make it a point to try things and places as much as we can, the ones that we can’t get at home. so, on our recent trip to orlando, fl, my fab boyfriend decided to look for the BEST ice cream place around — i mean why go to tried and true places such as dairy queen??? so after a 20 minute ride(we missed it the first time and had to turn around and was soo confused — the place had awesome reviews so it couldn’t be that hard to miss right? FAIL!) as we turned back and finally spotted GOFF’S, we kind of froze in our seats. just so you know, i am a 5’1″(on a good day) asian chick and if i stretched out my arms like the infamous michael jordan poster from the 90’s, i’m pretty sure i reached from front of the store to the back of the store… i guess we were expecting something a little more… polished??? not sure. anyway, we had to try it at that point — what, turn back around AGAIN and look for dairy queen??? honestly, the ice cream part really wasn’t that bad… the toppings weren’t that bad either… i just wanted to even out the reviews here so that the next person who drives by on Orange Blossom Trl, looking for the neon sign or the half a block signage announcing the BESTICECREAMPLACE, they wouldn’t be as dumbfounded as we were… Joseph’s review: First, I want to apologize for the random use and non-use of capitalization by Kristy. 2+ years into this relationship and I am still trying to figure it out. Second, she is obviously a size queen and a major reason why she keeps me around. But… for the poor shack masquerading as an ice cream stand, she has no patience. True, I was expecting a bustling well-lit establishment with interior seating and a great atmosphere. But, it really is a shack with walk-up service and a homemade menu with lots of misspellings. But that is what gives the place character! The ice cream was solid and the price was cheap. The toppings were generous, so much so that I had to pass up on the hot fudge because it was already overflowing from the two other toppings I had requested. I’d give it more than 2 stars, but obviously, I am your typical whipped boyfriend.

A friend recommended this place as a classic ice cream stand offering one of the best banana splits he had ever had in his life… so here I am, checking out this place. :) I went ahead and opted for the much raved about banana split… I was very pleased with what I got! The ice cream is soft serve, ripe bananas, strawberries, pineapple, CHUNKS of walnuts(YUM!!!) and of course your choice of either chocolate or caramel drizzled on top. Between 2 people sharing, we had to be careful not to take bites out of turn. You know… the unspoken eyeball code you give when you’re sharing somthing when you secretly(but not so secretly) wish you had just ordered your own separate dish??? That one.

I just got a peanut butter milk shake there for the first time in years. The place is excellent just as I remember it. Still family owned after nearly 60 years. I am deeply ashamed that I may have given a chain store my money(especially as I have owned a business myself for 20+ years) for an inferior product instead of looking a couple of miles from my house. Do yourself a huge favor. Visit this place. It’ll never get under 5 stars.

I just can’t seem to say enough about this ice cream stand. And last night, they impressed me even more. The young kid working behind the screen made sure we were served the best ice cream creations with exactly what we wanted – he went above and beyond without even knowing how much we appreciate that type of service. And for $ 5 total, for two orders, you can’t go wrong.
