Great store. Especially because the extremely good looking, bearded male, sales associate.

What a joke of a store. It’s holiday season, yet they don’t have enough workers to man more than one register. In fact the one register had a worker who couldn’t check out the customers. Management, get some training done with your employees. Figure out how to run a retail toy store. I left my toys at the service desk and walked out. Truly horrible.

I will never ever ever shop at Toys R Us again. i will always shop Amazon or Target from now on.
I ordered online the Elsa doll since they did not have it in store for my niece. It did not come. In fact Toys R Us charged my account and then a few days later replaced the money. They said nothing to me. They just cancelled my order. I was placed on hold for almost an hour waiting to talk to a supervisor and there was nothing they could do to get me the doll for the birthday part which was 4 days away.
This is the not the first time I had issues with Toys R Us. I called ahead before to check on items and I was told they don’t have that item by the teenager that answered the phone but then I stopped in anyways and found the item on my own. As a teacher I will be sure to tell all my preschool parents not to shop there and will be sure to share on Facebook and Twitter etc. how much Toys R Us only cares about making a profit and not kids.

If only I could make my «R» go backwards like they do in the logo. Oh, TRU, how many thousands of dollars have I spent at you in my lifetime; including that which my parents, grandparents and friends spent on buying me things here. If I knew that number I’m sure it would be scary.

As a kid, TRU was THE place to go. The reward for doing great things, the place to go when a gift check was burning a hole in your wallet, and the place my Grandma took me every year on my birthday and let me pick out anything I wanted in the whole store.
Yes, I was spoiled. Still am.

As an adult toy collector, married to an adult toy collector (adults who collect toys. Get your minds out of the gutter), Toys R Us is still on my somewhat frequent flyer list, but it seems the selection has gone way down over the years. I know Walmart has kind of taken over as the major toy retailer in the nation, and online sales are also making major headway, but it’s disappointing to see such little variety. The same things hang on pegs, month after month, year after year. Nobody buying them.
Customer service levels have sunk down to «all we have is what’s out» and quietly forcing their way in front of you to straighten a shelf, without offering help or letting you have your space.
During peak times, there’s almost never enough cash registers open. But the employees seem to be well-​trained and know the policies and procedures very well. Returns are a breeze.
Overall, the store is okay now. But it’s not the place it once was. That place will be locked forever in my childhood.

Took my son to Toys R Us so he could spend some Christmas gift card money. Normal layout with the regular after Christmas sales happening.
The sales associates were very helpful when trying to find a certain Skylanders figures. A+ in my book when it comes to trying to figure out what’s what in the crazy whirlwind of a toy store.

When I was a child we went all the way to 87^th and Cicero to go Toys R Us. We would look forward to it all week. It was one of the greatest childhood memories that I have. I just wish I would have not opened all those Star Wars dolls and left them in the box. Now present day. We go to the Toys R Us in Orland Park. This store is a mess. Its just dirty. There was an old Dunkin Donuts coffee cup sitting on one of the toys in the aisle. We checked out at 4 pm on a Friday. The line was 15 deep with 2 cashiers working. I finally yelled at the top of my lungs «PLEASE SEND CASHIERS TO THE FRONT!». One of the ladies looked at me like I was nuts. Two cashiers showed up. The line was moving. The attitude on my cashier was awful. It was also hot in the store. The last time I went there the power was out and they still let us go in and shop. I dont think I will be going back any time soon.

When you’re a kid, you can’t get enough of Toys ‘R Us. When you’re an adult… you sometimes still can’t get enough. :)
My husband and I did most of our Christmas shopping for our fabulous foursome (ages 5, 4, 3, and 2) at TRU, and it was an overall good experience. As mentioned in a prior review, service is most definitely hit or miss. Additionally, some of the items were shelved incorrectly so you really had to make sure the item you grabbed matched the price beneath it. But that being said… yay! I’m a fan. For starters, there’s a solid selection of crafts and craft-​like, hobbyist projects and that’s right up my kids’ alley. Oh, and they have a decent selection of sippy cups should your two year old decide that open-​mouthed cups and straws are simply not something she’s willing to even consider at this moment in time.
My husband is, at times, essentially a big kid. He and my five year old son are the only boys in a whole house of girls, so he went a little Cars crazy for him. If you happened to see a gal with short red (it was red then) hair and a partially shaved head dragging a man out of the store (as he looked lovingly and longingly toward the Legos, Cars 2 toys, remote control vehicles, matchbox cars, Toy Story products, and the like)…it was probably us. :) We didn’t have to deal with any returns and the check out line was amazingly efficient. The store is and has been, at least in my experience, reasonably clean. There’s always an unruly kid or two, but that’s less the kid’s fault and more the parent’s/parents’, you know? But I digress.
Overall, a solid bet during the holidays and beyond. I’ll be back again. Probably this week as my now three year old is about to turn four. And then in March, as my now four year old will be about to turn five, and then in May is my now five year old will be about to turn six… you get the picture. :)

Came a few days before Christmas and shelves were empty and toys everywhere, but that is to be expected. Help is hit or miss. I asked if they had a certain character and sales lady just basically was like if it is, it’s down whatever aisle. But the sales lady my sister asked about some baby doll was very helpful. She even came to look for my sister with a doll to see if it was maybe something she wanted.
Overall, not bad!

I have never had a «bad experience» at this Toys R Us. However, I have never had a particularly good one either. I remember how fresh this place looked 25 years ago when I went as a child. Now, I cringe at the sight of the floors and feel generally dirty after going through checkout. They have let this place go, which is a shame.
Not that they need an enormous staff presence throughout the store but you rarely see anyone outside of checkout. Even in the departments with large objects such as the PowerWheels and the bikes. Shouldn’t there be someone there to assist? Sure, I can grab a GI Joe off the shelf but I kind of would like some help getting down a bicycle. And given that not everything has the price properly displayed in these sections, I would like to know that I am about to spend $ 400.
The checkout area is run by the least enthusiastic people I know. They have zero personality. I’m sure Jeffrey does NOT approve.
Their bathrooms need serious updating. While I could care less about updating the style, sometimes you just need new sinks… ya know, after 25 years of inefficient cleaning.
