This is the best facial I’ve ever had! Located in a serene and relaxing environment, it’s a great place to pamper yourself with a lovely massage or ultimate facial. Hidden gem. Highly recommend!

I’ve been getting the treatments done since sometime last year and all was good until I wasn’t able to make an appointment because I live an hour and a half away and due to traffic was not going to be on time so they advised me to reschedule. I have been trying to do just that since the beginning of JUNE! I have called more times than I should have to, have left more messages than it should take to get a call back, have sent several emails that have gone unanswered and have also tried to use their online scheduler with no more luck than any other methods of contact they give you. I would say I’ve attempted at least 30 times to make contact since June, and of that I’ve only received 1 phone call back (which was in July) while I was at work where I cannot sit around and stare at my phone waiting for a call, so I missed it. Haven’t heard back from them since. This is completely unacceptable «service» and I do not understand how they can offer various methods of contacts but yet they choose to not answer any of them. If I didn’t live so far from the place I would just show up just to see if they are still open. I’ve tried calling on different days and at different hours and no one, I mean no one has EVER picked up that phone! Good luck if you choose this place!

Two levels of service here — customer service and the professional services. One gets zero stars, the other five, hence the three star review. I have had good experiences with each of the laser hair treatments I’ve had. Four to date. Each technician different but all professional and made sure I was comfortable. Also friendly. The front desk/​customer service experience is a totally different story. Like the majority of reviewers, I also experienced problems with getting in touch with someone. I’ve called five times and left two voice mail messages with no returned call to date. May never be able to schedule my next appointment at this rate. And if you walked into the place for the first time and saw the staff they put up there to greet you? You may not come back again. I had the fortunate experience to move past it since the treatments were good but I swear, they get worse with each visit. VERY unprofessional appearance and attitudes. Not to say they’re rude, just not at all interested in doing anything more than clicking the computer screen to get your next appointment scheduled. You won’t get smiles or professionally attired greeters here. You’ll get sweats-​wearing (on a good day), smoking (just outside the entrance), cell-​phone (personal) talkers instead. I wonder if the owner is aware of this at all? Doesn’t take a genius to see there’d be better reviews if they focused on the front-​end a bit more.

Horrible establishment. Is not ran professionally at all. They don’t even answer their phones, and it’s impossible to fit their ridiculous schedules. Def would not recommend this place, even with the cheap groupon discount.

Absolutely disgusted with this place. They have no idea what customer service is nor have they once picked up their phones for appointments. If this wasn’t a prepaid service I would have walked out an hour ago. Doesn’t even deserve one star

This place has absolutely terrible service. For starters, a friend and I bought a groupon for a gel manicure and a pedicure. When first calling the salon, in late September, they stated they didn’t have any openings until after Halloween. I don’t know many nail places with appointments backed up that far in advance, but didn’t think much of it at the time. When I tried calling to make an appointment after the holidays, they told me they didn’t have any appointments until February, so I made an appointment for February for my friend and I. My friend had to cancel so I called to reschedule, nobody would answer. I would call multiple times in a row and still not get an answer. I decided to write an email asking to make another appointment. Finally got a response a few days later with an apology since they are short staffed and made a new appointment.
I’ve received multiple texts giving me the appointment time. The day before the appointment I get a call stating they only now have one nail technician and she is only available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal but I live an hour away, my friend is the one who lives near the salon. With the constant issues and rescheduling I’ve had to deal with this place I am completely over it. I will be contacting groupon to try and get my money back. This place has terrible services and doesn’t hire enough people to accommodate their customers.
If you live close by this place might not be too bad, but if not, don’t waste your time or money. Very unhappy with my «services» here.

I wrote a review that got deleted… hmm I wonder why? Here it goes again. This rating is based solely on my appointment and appointment makings. Im a licensed esthetician and would like to think I know a thing or two about running a successful spa. I recently bought a group for the 8 laser treatments. Lets start by saying I was a little apprehensive that the spa was able to offer such a great deal for such a small price. In my experience of working at high end salons and spas when they have specials like that going on it is usually hard to keep up with clientele. I saw they had a great rating so I decided to take a chance. My first time calling I got the voicemail so I left a polite message with my number and service I was requesting. No call back. Two days later I called again no answer, I left another voicemail. The next day I called again no answer I left a voicemail. Mind you each time I called was within business hours. I decided to go on the website and request a call back. Two days later I was called by I’m assuming the front desk attendant who apologized, stated the phones were having problems and scheduled my appointment. I decided to give the spa a second chance and go ahead with my appointment the day of my appointment (today) I received a text message reminder for my appointment. I arrived fifteen minutes early and surprisingly the lights were off and no one was inside. My appointment was at 2:45 pm. Why is a spa that is supposed to be open from 9am-​6pm closed at 2:30? I waited in my car until 3pm and no one showed. I called the spa and left a message explaining my situation. I have never received such bad service ever! I can see this spa closing within the next year if they keep these practices up. I urge the other people who have had this happen to them to leave comments and ratings as well so the spa can receive it’s true rating. I have seen other similar comments and not once has the owner responded or apologized. Why in the world did you decide to open a spa only to never be there and never answer the phone??? I called groupon today to get my refund I definitely will not spend a dime at this horrible excuse for a business.

I bought a groupon for laser hair removal. I live in Gurnee and figured with the great price i’d be willing to make the hour and a half drive to Orland Park every 6 weeks for treatments. However I have only gone twice and have had to reschedule my third treatment 4 times now! I am beyond frustrated with their terrible service.
The 1^st time: I received a confirmation text the morning of my appointment reminding me to come in for my appt that day. It was snowing really bad but i figured ill just go and get it over with bc its so hard to reschedule. I make the 2.5 hr drive in terrible snowy conditions and called 8 times to tell them id be 5 mins late but never got anyone to pick up the phone. when i finally arrived, i see theyre CLOSED! i couldnt believe that no one contacted me to let me know not to bother coming in! no email, no call, no text, not even a message on their answering machine to say theyre closed due to weather. if anything, they sent me a text reminding me of my appt that morning!
2^nd time: It was snowing again for when i rescheduled it and I called and they said theyd be closing early. thanks for not making me drive all the way out there again, but i had to call myself and see if theyd be open. annoying. so i rescheduled a third time.
3^rd time: im on my way out the door to make the 1.5hr drive and i get a call saying their technician was sick and left for the day. and no, there was no one to fill in. ya im pissed. so i reschedule yet again.
4^th time: im at work and receive yet another phone call saying that the technician had a family emergency and had to leave. this was the last straw for me. i am now almost two months overdue for my treatment from this rescheduling B.S. and i told them they need to find someone because im coming in for the appointment that i scheduled. they offered me to start my treatment from new because it was probably less likely to work after a 2 month gap between treatments, but i told them what difference will that make if you keep rescheduling me? they said theyd call me back in an hour. they didnt. after 3 hours of calling them nonstop to see if they found someone to do it, they finally said i could come in.
i prepaid for this service and expect them to provide it, not keep coming up with excuses for their technicians. Hire more, or when someone leaves unexpectedly, have a backup. its not a difficult concept.
Oh, and they never answer their phones. ive learned the trick is to call 4 – 6 times back to back and then theyll finally answer.
if you live less than 10 minutes away from them and are someone who doesnt have a job, then go for it. because you need to be flexible to fit into their ridiculous schedule.
i wish i didnt waste my money on this place. i suggest you dont either.

I purchased a groupon for the laser hair removal and made an appointment, I was really excited about it including the cute appt reminder text, it was great, thats when my good experience ends. I arrived early for my 10:30 appt and walked in the salon no one at the front desk a woman was giving a pedicure so I immediately wished thema good morning only for them to look away quickly and not speak I stood at the desk for 2 smooth minutes before addressing the woman giving the pedicure. I spoke very respectfully and asked was there anyone I could speak with, again she ignored me and continued her conversation with her client. I walked over to them and apologized for interrupting their conversation the lady spoke gruffly and told me to sit over there for the girl. «over there» was pretty general so I stood waiting for another three minutes then the pedicurist spoke again «No! over there, behind the curtain «I walked behind the curtain to a darkened area of the office. I walked in the waiting area and heard voice I spoke aloud Hello? only to hear laughter and conversation coming from a closed room. I already felt uncomfortable being in a area of Orland I’m not familiar with. I spoke again and sat to wait, I called the office number, no one answered. 10:36 came and I called Groupon to let them know how I was being treated at this salon, very unprofessional, and a little racist based on the sneer on the pedicurist face when I dared to speak to her. I will NEVER RETURN and I wouldn’t recommend this salon to anyone, no matter your race. it was an extremely unprofessional atmosphere, I felt as though I wasn’t welcomed and that losing my business was no lost to them.

Bought a Groupon for a mani-​pedi and would not recommend this place to anyone. Had an appointment before noon and the bathroom was untidy, dust balls everywhere on the floors and horrors, the pedicure tank on the chair next to me appeared to be broken with various tank jets open/​removed showing all the disgusting grunge. To top it all off my manicure and pedicure was so messy it looked like a right handed person did it with their left hand! It was rather dark in the salon and when I got out into the light it looked even worse. Don’t go there!

This place is ok. I went there to get my legs lasered. After the first treatment I didn’t notice too much, but the following treatments were successful. I literally didn’t have to shave for almost four weeks straight and I have dark thick hair. The equipment they use is good, doesn’t really hurt, done in a flash, but the last two times I went it broke down and didn’t do as good a job.
It’s very difficult to get in touch with the front desk. They rarely, if ever, answer the phone and don’t bother leaving a voicemail. Other than that, the service was pretty good so if you live in the burbs that way I would recommend it. Otherwise, if you’re in the city there are other options.
The main problem I have, and the reason why I won’t be going back, is that I broke out pretty bad from my last two treatments and though I’ve been tending to the 20 angry red bumps which are ingrowns on my legs I’ve had them for nearly three months with no sign of them disappearing. It makes me want to cry because I used to have nice legs.
So…long story short, this place is alright for those who live close-​by and who don’t struggle with ingrowns, but I would recommend going to a more professional establishment. I will not be returning for my final treatment. They can have it.

I definitely agree with the other reviews about Simply Serenity’s laser treatments. They are quick, painless and I started seeing INCREDIBLE results six months ago when I had the first treatment. The staff is very friendly, I had a few different estheticians over this time period but they were all very knowledge. They are constantly upgrading the equipment for the newest technology. I just had an appt today and was told it was a newer machine (it was also a different new machine a few months ago). Another great thing is you are constantly asked if you are uncomfortable or if the application is too hot. :)
Although my drive is about an hour away I will still make future appointments here.

Just finished another session with Sam for laser hair removal. I have tried 2 other places before and I have to say that Sam has been by far the best! Both of the other 2 were painful (even though they used a «pain free» technology). Not only was it painless but I am seeing great results! Would definitely recommend, and if you can request Sam!

I come here and see Sam. She has been very professional, easy to deal with, and nice to talk to. The facility seems clean and well run. I would recommend this place to a friend.

Purchased a, Living Social I believe it was, package deal for laser hair removal on a large area, in this case my back. It’s 8 visits’ worth and I’ve used 5 of those so far. The salon itself is very posh and upscale-​looking. It has 2 comfortable waiting areas. Staff is stylish and professional when greeting you. I’ve never had to wait too long at my appointments. They also have a slick text message and email-​based appointment reminder system, the latter of which can export to a number of calendars.
I’ve had laser hair removal before in Naperville and in Water Tower Place on Michigan Avenue and am pleased that Simply Serenity’s laser has been both the most comfortable and most effective of any of the three. What felt like hot rubber band snaps at the other places is more of a pleasing constant heat sensation at Serenity. SAM is also my favorite esthetician to date. She’s very personable, friendly, and, bless her, was able to dry shave a few areas on my back that I couldn’t get to nor bother a friend to tend to in advance of a couple appointments.
Very satisified. Highly recommended.

So I came here with a groupon for a no chip mani and spa pedi. It was my technician’s first day.
Pros:
Very clean
friendly staff
the manager is offering me another free no chip mani because of all the issues they were having that day.
Cons:
1. She did a horrible job with my pedi and mani. I asked for a french mani/​pedi. When she was applying the white polish, it was done so poorly. They were not even, didn’t go to the edge of the nail, and she didn’t fix it unless I pointed it out to her.
2. it took about 2.5 hours to complete my service that day. It was because the lap was not drying my nail and when she tried to put another coat on, it smeared my whole nail. Then when she tried to fix it, she didn’t do a good job. She had to fix a few of my nails about 2 – 3 times, and then got so frustrated when it didn’t work and asked me what I wanted to do about the situation. OK… there you go.
3. when the nails weren’t drying like they should, she started fussing to the manager about it. it is so unprofessional to discuss issues in front of the customer.
Overall, she did a horrible job. I still left a tip and didn’t say anything because I felt bad since it was her first day. She kept complaining saying that she was still getting used to where all the equipment was and that they only scheduled her to work that day and she was getting backed up. i really don’t want to hear about your problems. also, when you mess up a nail, please don’t make me point it out to have you fix it. my one friend who used to be a nail tech laughed when she saw my nails and said that it looked like a child painted them.
I’ll be back to redeem my complimentary no chip mani, but I will not be asking for her.

I had my first visit here 3 weeks ago for laser hair removal and I am so impressed with the results. Unless technology has drastically changed in the last year, this salon has the best lasers anywhere. I have done treatments for my underarms before, and after 6 sessions I still have plenty of growth (less than before, nowhere near gone). At Simple Serenity I only had 1 session on my legs so far and I go a week without shaving. It is insane. It was painless too. I am also doing my bikini area here and it’s the same thing– amazing results for just one session. It’s better than my 6 somewhere else. Maybe the owner here actually invested in the best laser technology available. Anyways I’m so glad I found the deal through Living Social and will recommend to all my friends. My sister is already going there as well.

Came to the Medi spa to try laser hair removal for the first time. The procedure was quick and painless! The doctor was very friendly and answered all my questions. Prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back!

I have been looking for a new place to get my eyebrows waxed, since my old salon doesn’t do a great job. So upon noticing the new signage I thought I’d give Simply Serenity a try. I am so happy I did! Eva was the aesthetician and she did an absolutely perfect job on my brows! I couldn’t be more pleased. She took her time and really made sure they were perfect. Not the rush job I was getting at my old salon.
The staff was friendly, informative, professional and overall I had an excellent experience! I am giving it 5 stars based on my service alone, since it’s the best eyebrow wax I’ve ever had at also the best price. I will definitely have to go back and try other services.
