I made an appt at Dan’s Auto Service to have my brakes checked.
I dropped the car off at 11:30. They told me they’d call me in 20 minutes with an estimate. Since I live a distance away, I hung around Oregon City with my husband, who’d given me a ride.
Ninety minutes later, they still hadn’t called. So I called them. The receptionist explained it was «lunchtime» and they were just looking at my car now and she’d call me in 10 minutes. I explained I didn’t need the work done today, but just wanted to know if the car needed work. She replied tartly, «That’s what we’ll call you about in 10 minutes.» She was deliberately unclear about whether my car had been looked at yet.
Fifteen more minutes passed, and still no call. I gave up, and went back to the shop to retrieve my car. We saw the mechanic just driving the car into the bay. I asked for my keys back and told my husband I’d meet him back home.
As I was preparing to drive off, a female Dan’s employee came up to my car. Her first words were not an apology. Instead she said – get this – «Would you like to reschedule?» After I explained that I had been waiting over 90 minutes, she made lots of excuses («lunchtime», etc) but she did apologize.
So that’s my review. In the interest of fairness, I should point out that my original appt was for 11, and I showed up around 11:30, but no one mentioned that or seemed to care when I arrived. I don’t know if that caused any of their delays, but in any event, they should not tell me 20 minutes and just begin the work at 90.

Top notch guys. Will take my Subaru here as long as i have it. Great service and great work.

As an estimator/​production manager for HIlltop Collision Center, I would like to say that our shop uses Dan’s almost exclusively for suspension and mechanical work. They are honest, thorough, and reasonable, and we know that when we sublet a car to them we have the peace of mind knowing that our customers’ vehicles are SAFE to drive and have been fixed right… the first time, every time. It is great to work with a company that shares our high standards of quality. I would recommend Dan’s to anyone.

VERY good people here!
They did a vehicle inspection for a customer before a purchase. They were very nice and through with the inspection. Next time we need some service work done we would give them a try!
