Checkpoint Motors is an ASE Certified Shop. This certification assures you that our staff has the knowledge, training and experience to accurately diagnose the problem and make the repairs necessary. Checkpoint Motors is well known for the practice of only repairing what needs to be repaired. This is so acutely ingrained into our business that we provide a 12 month or 12,000 mile guarantee on the parts and labor of the repairs we perform. I had a great experience with Checkpoint this morning when they diagnosed and fixed the leak in my Volkswagen while I waited. When I called for an appointment they were able to get me in quickly and were very thorough in explaining what my problem was and taking care of it at an amazing price. They have earned my trust and my business along with recommendations to friends and family.

I’m updating my review to say I’ve never found a better group of people to work with. If you are in the Oregon City area, this should be your go-​to shop for your car. I’ve had more encounters with them since my first review and I’ll never go anywhere else if they keep delivering like they have in the past.

I am very happy that I took my Jeep to Checkpoint when I noticed my check engine light was on. They diagnosed it quickly and were very thorough in their explanation of what needed to be done. From absolute neccessity to least important. Total repairs were $ 2,100 but with their proper guidance and considering the Holidays was able to get the important items take care of with only paying $ 900+ vs. the $ 2k. I will definitely go back to complete the remainder repairs and recommend their services to anyone in the Oregon City area.

Checkpoint Motors saved the day! With a car that was about to die (needed a new alternator) I was referred to James by Les Schwab when they told me the problem wasn’t my battery.
It was 4pm. I had 1 kid with me, needed to pick up another kid in 1 hour and my husband had just left out of town on business.
I pulled into Checkpoint Motors parking lot. We went in to the office and told my story… pretty stressed and near tears. James looked at me and said, «we can get you in». They also said that they could take me home, which was way above and beyond, and a calming moment for me that this too shall pass.
I received a call the next morning at 9:08am with a diagnosis of my car and some additional information about concerns on work that the dealership did on my car just a few months ago. I couldn’t believe how fast they took care of me!
I’ve lived in Oregon City for over 13 years and have driven by Checkpoint Motors a great deal, but until someone referred me, I didn’t know about their amazing service and staff.
Thank you to James, Angie and the rest of the team for taking care of my car and my family in a time of stress. You will continue to see business from my family and I will be telling everyone I can about Checkpoint Motors!

It took my husband and I years and years to find the perfect auto shop after moving to the area. It’s hard to find a shop that you really feel you can trust and you genuinely like the staff. We’ve only been bringing our vehicles to Checkpoint for about a year and half now, but each and every time we’ve had an exceptional experience. We’ve had owner/​mechanic James and mechanic Bob drop everything to come out and give a quick look at or opinion on an issue. And they’ve shown us and explained why things were needed. We’ve had mechanic Eduardo save our daughter from spending money on something we thought her car needed, but he found that it didn’t need the part – it just needed to be cleaned. He could just as easily have sold us the part, but he was honest. We had Bob track down an electrical drain that an auto electric specialist in the area could not find after 3 hours of searching. And last, but certainly not least Angie, who runs the office, is super sweet and kind every single time we see her. She has never once been rude or impatient (do you know how hard that is to come by!?!). Always a friendly welcome and she is very helpful as well. We finally found the perfect auto shop with an amazing staff!

My family and I have been using Checkpoint Motors for all of our vehicles for many, many years. Every time, they continue to provide excellent customer service.
Recently, I’ve gave them my Toyota to install a new timing belt and to fix some oil leaks. James, who works at Checkpoint was great in communication as to what they found, what needs to be done and what he recommends.
I would recommend this place to anyone to get quality repairs done.

James has been servicing our vehicles for several years. We just had our BMW X3 serviced and are pleased. The X3 required some troubleshooting. Checkpoint did it again! Took my car in for a major tuneup. Their customer service was spot on. They went over what really needed to be replaced, and what I could afford to wait on. Instead of the global «75,000 miles we’re going to do everything» schpeel, they really analyzed and gave exact feedback. They go above and beyond every time I go in. I can’t say enough good things about this place. My car recently broke down, and they totally went out of their way to help me out. It was very much appreciated. I had never been to this place before, and they were treating me like I’d been going there for 20 years. You don’t find customer service like that a lot anymore. I will certainly go back… well I’m not hoping my car breaks down again anytime soon, but we’ll be back some day!
