Was it healthy fast food? Cautious answer… I think so. I had the wild caught Coho Salmon burrito with some black beans and salsa. Tasted good and even though it was built with a flour tortilla, it only had 600 calories and filled me up. I think when I’m in a hurry and need a quick lunch that Rubio’s is tasty and healthy enough that I will go again.(Can you tell I’m not a fast food fan?!?)

This place is great! I’ve been going to Rubios restaurants all over since the 90’s. I’ve been to many Rubios and this is one of the best. The staff is kind and accommodating. The burritos are always nicely sized and they just renovated the place making it look very nice!

I have been loving Rubio fish tacos for over 20 years… when I lived out of state Rubios was one of the first places I hit! Today was taco Tuesday and fish tacos were half off… Doesn’t get any better than that. Service was great, place was clean and the only reason I’m not giving this Rubios five stars is that they had a little smell going on… don’t know what it was but… you know. Tacos were first cabin good!

This was my first time going to this location the staff had great attitudes and the store was very clean. I ordered the Baja steak burrito it tasted great very fresh and great quality meat. They have a really good salsa bar as well. The prices are a little high but I think it is worth it for the quality and the taste you are getting. I have also tried the chicken quesadilla at there other location I would recommend trying that as well it is really good !!

This review is for only one item — their shrimp bowl. Although I tend to not eat at chain type places I had a freebie meal here so I came in for lunch when I had personal business in the area. I ordered the shrimp bowl on the recommendation of the cashier. A very good choice! First of all the shrimp was grilled and seasoned perfectly. Such a contrast from Mimi’s Café!(See my earlier review). There was a correct ratio of shrimp to rice, black beans, spicy mayo, guacamole, pico de gallo and lettuce. It actually tasted better than it looks in the photo. I would recommend this particular item if you ever visit this outpost of the Rubio chain. Four and a half stars.

Just ordered and picked up the California Bowl. What a sloppy mess, nothing like the menu photo. I looked at it, and said, this doesn’t look like what I ordered then, LESLIE insisted that it was correct. It had grilled vegetables on it, with some kind of brownish sauce. Not the Chipoltli sauce, because I ordered it without the sauce. It was not edible. I came home and looked at the menu again and they were wrong, so I called Leslie back and reluctantly she admitted that the grilled vegetables were not supposed to be on there. I reminded her that I told her that in the store, and she insisted it was correct. I will never go there again, and advise you inspect your food before leaving. Leslie said I could drive across town and get a refund, but it was way too far.

Really good fast casual Mexican restaurant in Southern California. We went here after a long day at California Adventure. We were looking for fast and good. I saw Rubio’s and suggested we stop after eating at another location in Monrovia when I was in town for work. Rubio’s has a great variety of offerings. I had the Coastal trio of tacos. They were amazing — you get an original fish taco, a shrimp taco, and a blackened tilapia taco. Everyone else in my party got something different and all enjoyed what they ordered. This is a great place for a fast meal.

We usually go to the Rubio’s on 17th& S. Tustin St.(which we love), but we decided to check out the newly renovated Rubio’s near the Orange Mall last Saturday(4÷16÷16) night. We approached the door, and it said closed! It was 9:07PM on a SATURDAYNIGHT in SoCal ! — - Who does THAT?! 3 or 4 other«parties» were turned away(right then), too! … We went across the street to the new«Cane’s Chicken», which was yummy, but L-O-U-D(music!!), but they were open until 2:00AM !!(Who does THAT, even?!!). We’ll be back to this Rubio’s for –sure–(ALWAYS yummy!), but … can you push closing time back to at least 10:00PM on WEEKENDS?!? … Thanks! See you«next» time!

Gabe is an idiot and should be immediately fired. I ordered two fish taco specials and some other dishes for take out, and what does he do? Rings up a two-fish taco special. So I had to wait an additional 12 minutes after getting my original order, not including the 5 minute argument with the other cashier about how I told Gabe four(4) times exactly what I wanted. Yes, four times I had to clarify I wanted two specials; and he still got it wrong. Needless to say, I get home and only one of the meals is actually warm. To be fair, I come here quite often. Perhaps every couple weeks, and have never really had a problem(or I wouldn’t be coming back). Of course, I’m mad about the order getting screwed up, and the resulting cold meals, but I am particularly bothered about the other(presumably more senior) cashier’s unapologetic, and argumentative attitude. I guess Rubios does have a very relaxed, «sh!t happens, get over it» culture.

I came to Rubio’s today to get some lunch for my family. I was greeted by Hannah who was so friendly and helpful. I wish more restaurants had employees like her. Thank you and keep up the good work!

I’ve been coming here most days for lunch for the past 5 years and this is by far the best Rubios ever. The food is on point and the managers Ka & Paul are always smiling and super helpful. If you want to see how a Rubios is supposed to run, come here. The lobby and salsa bar are always clean and the food comes out quick so it’s perfect when you’re on the go. 5 stars!

Taco Tuesday’s or a plate not much worse you can do but eat some good food from here with their multiple sauces that I mix to make the ultimate salsa even with the Diablo and jalapeño sauce. They are not that hot. But they sure are tasty

I had not been in Rubios for a long time. I don’t know why there aren’t that many of them near where I live in Irvine but I was in Orange passing by and I was hungry and Rubios sounded really good. I usually get either their Shrimp burrito or Mahi Mahi burrito but yesterday I went with Mahi Mahi. I am not too good with names but I remember the manager’s name Paul whom was extremely friendly and helpful and took my ordered exactly as how I wanted. Mahi Mahi burrito with rice and beans on the side. Then he brought it for me himself which I was pretty impressed as a former fastfood manager, that’s what sets apart a good manager from the rest. My dentist is in that area so I will make sure to go there again next time and try their other options. Keep up the good job.

Of all the fast Mexican fast casual concepts, Rubios is the best. Fresh food and brew. I had the Langostino burrito today. Yumm! Staff is friendly and service is top notch.

I LOVE fish tacos and Rubio’s never ever disappoints me. I love their combo plates because it comes with a good amount of beans and chips! The price for their combo plates are also very reasonable! Their open salsa bar seriously gets better and better every time I go. On top of their well known three type of salsas, they now offer two additional ones — which makes it a total of 5 different types of salsas to chose from! I love how they also offer unlimited sliced jalapenos, onions, and limes/lemon at the bar too. There are also plenty of plastic containers and utensils for you to take as well. Like they say, Rubios is home of the fish tacos and is always one of my top places for fish tacos!
