History

Established in 2007.

EarthWise Hauling was founded in 2007 with a 1986 F150 Pick Up truck and a few hand tools. Since then, it has grown to serve all of Orange County as well as parts of Riverside and Los Angeles. We are the first junk removal company to implement clean burning trucks that run on Natural Gas! Since 2007, we have diverted and recycled over 6,000,000 LBS of junk and trash that was on its way to the landfill!

We have not taken any junk to a landfill in over 7 years! Through partnerships with various recycling plants, e-​waste processors, green waste recyclers, transfer stations, and charitable organizations, we are able to recycle over 80% of the junk and trash that we haul.

We even have a contractor yard of our own that enables us to hand sort your junk and recycle as much as possible.

Our Founder, Joe Roth, has been featured in the Orange County Register business section in honor of his success. He as well as his employees are dedicated to continuing the success of EarthWise!

Hello,

My name is Joe Roth. I am 25 years old, and I started hauling junk about 8 years ago. After I graduated from high school at the age of 16, I received training in high end IT virtualization, but I just couldn’t make it work as business. I bought my first truck for $ 500 using money I had saved from fixing computers, and then grew my business from there.

I pride myself on offering my customers the most Eco-​friendly junk removal service in California, at a reasonable fee. I am proud to say that we are the first junk removal company that I am aware of that is now implementing clean burning trucks that run on Natural Gas!

In my spare time I enjoy having fun with my amazing wife Jahnene and our son Brezlan, as well as engaging in volunteer work. I also enjoy learning about nutrition, playing tennis, doing Insane workouts, and working on cars.

I try to be present on at least half of all the jobs we do in order to stay connected to my employees and customers.

I chose Earthwise when I needed some large furniture removed from my home, based on their Unilocal reviews and I like to support local businesses. The service they offered was excellent. By booking online, I received a $ 35 discount, which put their prices ahead of everybody else. I was able to book an appointment for the next day. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they did have to push my appointment back by about 45 minutes, but he called to apologize and keep me updated on when they would arrive. The guys were clean, friendly and fast. If you got something you need hauled away, call these guys. You won’t be sorry.

My office, AIA Orange County, has called EarthWise twice in the last six months to remove and haul away items from our storage unit and office. They are awesome! Fast, friendly, and eco-​friendly too! I called yesterday needing a quick pick-​up and they arrived this morning to take our old furniture and trash away. Great A+ experience both times.

These guys helped me out of a pinch after a long overdue garage cleaning. I bought a Bagster to hold the trash, but quickly realized it wasn’t going to be big enough. Late that night, I looked for a company to haul the junk, and called EarthWise because they were the only one open until 10pm. They got me in the next day.
The price was reasonable, but I do wonder if I could have negotiated. Regardless, I’m satisfied with the transaction; the guys came on time, they were quick and efficient, and I’d use them againin a heartbeat.

They were willing to work with me on a better price to get their estimate in the ballpark of some other companies I had been in contact with. They arrived about 5 min before their estimated pick up window and were kind and courteous the entire time. Long story short, there was a mixup in who to call and where to meet since I was at work that day but my fiancé was home. I received a follow up text from one of the employees apologizing for calling me when I was at work and to let me know that the job was done. All in all, honest company, exceptional employees, competitive pricing, and environmentally friendly. Definitely would recommend!

I reached out to EarthWise to haul some appliances from my second floor condo. There were a couple of minor issues with scheduling and the job itself, which were completely understandable. A day or so later, I received a follow-​up e-​mail from Joe Roth to ensure EarthWise had done the job to my satisfaction. I e-​mailed my feedback. Within the hour, Mr. Roth responded, took full responsibility, and mentioned he had already implemented steps to improve performance. They even went out of their way to accommodate my request for a before/​after work hours pickup, which, when dealing with something I already didn’t have the time or equipment to handle, was a welcome relief. After much research I decided to hire EarthWise to come haul junk from my yards. It took them about 2 ½ hours. They took all the old firewood, misc Metal, Barrels, concrete, basketball hoop, misc wood, cut down a grilling shelter etc. Complete filled their truck up. They worked really hard considering some of the heavy stuff they had to load in their truck.
The men were very polite, hard working and always had a smile. When the time comes that I need to have stuff hauled away again I will without hesitation be calling EarthWise.

In the past I’ve rented dumpsters during my garage cleanses, but this time I opted for a junk removal service. I found Earthwise on Unilocal and chose them because of their 5 star reviews, they were local, and their prices were significantly cheaper than other businesses.
I set up an online appointment (35 $ off) during the evening of July 2nd, hoping to squeeze in a last minute appointment the NEXT day. They called me around 10AM the next day and arrived at my door within a few hours. Man, what great customer service!
The owner gave me an estimate up front and the price was very reasonable. Note: don’t bother with the Unilocal $ 125 for $ 100 voucher. The $ 35 online appointment discount is a better deal and doesn’t stack with the voucher. I ended up emailing Unilocal customer support to cancel it.
Every time there was an additional cost, the dudes would let me know what it was and why before loading the stuff in their truck. I really appreciated that extra courteous step. I had some left over marble from a kitchen remodel and super dense/​heavy stuff like that costs a couple bucks extra.
Even thought it took me all morning to drag all of my junk out into the driveway, the Earthwise crew cleaned everything up within 30 minutes. I was pretty amazed at how quick and efficient they were. I also appreciated how they swept up my driveway when they were done.
We finalized the bill and credit cards ARE accepted. The crew was super professional, efficient and chill. I’m happy to support their business and would definitely recommend Earthwise to anyone interested in getting rid of a ton of heavy, bulky, won’t-fit-in your-​trash-​bin junk.

I just had too much junk in my trunk!
On Sunday I used their online appointment form to schedule an appointment for Tuesday. Their website was simple and easy to use with a nice visual on how they determine their price. I didn’t realize that Monday was Labor Day and was wondering if they would call to confirm the appointment. On Monday afternoon, as requested, Joe (the owner) called to discuss about their service and to confirm the appointment. He was very professional and made sure to answer all my questions.
Tuesday morning I received a call from EarthWise letting me know that they would arrive ahead of schedule. That was fine by me. Kiyoshi and coworker, sorry forgot your name, arrived and greeted me with a smile. Again very professional. I showed them exactly what needed to be removed and they got to it. I usually like to supervise when work is being done around the house. They did not mind at all.
They worked quickly and efficiently. At the end of the job, they had me inspect the truck to show me how much of the truck was filled. From there they gave you the final price. I had underestimated the amount I needed but I expected it.
I was very happy with their service and will definitely do business with them again. I highly recommend them.
