Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!!
I was referred to Dr Betsy, by a GP I saw when I woke up with a swollen, red, PAINFUL, sensitive to light, but not pink eye problem. He took one look at me and said «Get thee to Betsy!!!» (or something like that) We called and they got me in immediately!
Turns out I had an ulcerated corneal scratch (yes, it is as scary and painful as it sounds!), Dr Betsy and her staff were amazing! Thorough, friendly, and mostly VERY focused on getting me better. Dr. Betsy spent all sorts of time with me discussing the problem, the intense and agressive treatment and making sure I had a clear understanding of just how serious the problem was, but all with a very kind bedside manor and even keeping her sense of humor.
As you can imagine, I saw a lot of she and her staff over the following month or two. They were wonderful to my son, my mother, and me. So much so, that my mother who had just come out of her treatment with a prominent Newport Beach Dr for a macular hole, switched to Dr Betsy.
We both see her for everything!!! I drive from LA to go to her. They are great about keeping cost conscious and making sure I am making the most of my insurance, even took the time to crunch the numbers and figure out if I would save more using it for contacts or glasses. (naturally, I was getting both! lol)
Dr. Betsy, you’d better never retire, because I will never find another you!

Took my wife there for the laser treatment. First eye was done, went home and she had problems. Went to the hospital, informed the office of what had happened. She was told to come back. When she went back she was told that Brown eyes are more difficult than blue, that it was noting the doctor had done, it was the wife having anxiety.
Ok!!!

One word — LAZY.
I called to see if they could check to see what my insurance covers so I could come in for a check up and get new contacts.
The receptionist says I have to call my insurance and check myself. I said, when I go in, you have to check with them so you know what they cover right so I’m not charged correct? She said yes, she would have to get authorization.
What she is telling me is, she is not willing to take that extra step to help me. Do it myself. I called another company and they happily checked and advised me the info in less than 5 minutes.
Don’t you just love Unilocal people ??? Hopefully this makes people do their job better!

Best eye doc ever! I even followed Dr. Nguyen from the previous practice she worked at. Dr. did surgery on both my Grandma, Grandpa and Husband. I can’t imagine going to any other doc for my eyes. I feel like I’m visiting with old friends when I go here, and it is a great experience every single time. THANK YOU!!!

My husband has been going to her, but 3 mos ago was the first time for me. She is personable and very knowledgable. I am develping catarats and she reminded me to make a new appoinment to check on their progress. We also bought glasses from her and she was very reasonable.
The office is staff is excellent and tries to work with you concerning appointments.

Dr. Nguyen loves her work and it shows. She’s very friendly and knowledgeable — I believe UCSF for medical school and then UCLA for residency. I feel like she did a thorough eye exam, and I’m happy with my overall visit.
I will say, though, that waiting 40 minutes just to be seen was a little on the long side since I took off work to be there. Also, her assistant was a little on the argumentative side when it came to my bill. Apparently, there are mix-​ups about the insurance not paying for a refraction, but I called ahead to confirm that they would. Yet she did not want to hear that; instead I got a lecture on how they have to call 4 different plans to find out which is covering, etc., etc., etc. I think it was at the end of the day, so maybe she was just tired. Also, she said towards the end that part was not her specialty, so she didn’t really know. Otherwise, she did a good job of doing the initial examination. I would recommend this place to others.

i’m used to going to a regular eye doctor for glasses or contacts. this was the first time i have had to go to an ophthamologist.
reception: welcoming, friendly, professional
nurse: friendly, encouraging, professional
doc: friendly, encouraging, professional, UBERLY HELPFUL! was interested in educating you, not just doing the work up!
facility: simple/​modernish. the outside looks old, but once you go into the office, you can see theres been renovations. sections of the floors are warpped. the rooms are spacious. reception area is comfortable and full of magazines!
services: though the doctor is a retina specialist, she does do glasses/​contacts/​laser consults/​surgery and other things. i’m not sure what else, but those were the things we had discussed.
only thing is that my dialated pupils remained dialated for at least ¾ hours which is not normal. i usually can walk of my appointment with dialated pupils and be fine, but this place uses some sort of super-​dialation drops! (or at least it seems like it). i have to go back for a follow up in a couple of months and i have to admit, i wont be hella scared like i was when on my first visit (yes, i was scared, i dont like going to doctors)
SIDENOTE: the office is located on 1314 s. euclid, anaheim. they recently moved.
