Solid. I have been a couple of times and it is always good. The menu is kind of limited, but that’s Ok. It’s one of the better alternatives for reasonably priced home cooking done well.

I know I’m not from the South but this is what I imagine when I think good Southern cooking. Seriously the food is amazing, and easily the best fried chicken I have ever had. It puts places in NYC to shame. The sides are incredible and so was the experience. My only wish is that they stayed open longer.

Food is consistently good here. Hours are sometimes limited but it is a mom & pop shop so that is to be expected. Is it the best food I’ve ever had? No, but it is good food at a reasonable price. Staff are very nice and the place is clean. We’d definitely go again.

Nice find indeed. I got the four veggie plate… Collard Greens, Lima Beans, Mac & Cheese, Rice & Gravy. Delicious, and two Cornbread Muffins were the perfect addition to the veggies. Yummo! Very much a reminder of how momma did it up in her kitchen.

Fantastic, no frills soul food in Auburn. This is a cute little restaurant with a sweet staff and a solid menu. The fried chicken breast is the best I’ve had in Auburn, and also the largest! All entrees are around $ 8, a steal for the portion size you get. This is the kind of place that you can pop into on your lunch break, get a great sit down meal for a wonderful price, and still be back to work on time. Highly recommend.

Good southern food, nothing fancy but tasty with good service. The staff wore costumes on Halloween, when we ate there. I had a grilled pork chop(tender, lightly seasoned) and my husband had a grilled chicken sandwich, which came on thick toasted white bread. Cole slaw and collard greens were excellent. My corn bread muffin would have been great except it sat in the collard green juice.(A bread plate would have helped.) Glad we stopped.

I had a good, solid lunch here while working in the area. Per recommendations I naturally had the fried chicken. The de-boned chicken breast had been patted out to an almost flat condition. This allows consistency in cooking so it was not over done at all. Breading has a nice flavor so this was an excellent main dish choice. I had creamed corn and mashed potatoes as my sides. The creamed corn was especially good. The mashed potatoes had a bit of the potato skin left which is always a nice touch, a bit under seasoned for me though. The gravy had me puzzled… it looked and tasted familiar. Then it hit me… KFC. Now, I do NOT know for a fact that yesterday’s gravy was«imported». I did not have the temerity to ask the question directly. But, when I asked the server if everything was home made, I got an interesting answer. «Well, I don’t think you can exactly say everything… but a lot of it is.» So, friendly atmosphere, generous portions, tasty food all at a very reasonable price… Not bad at all.

My new go to place. This place is a hidden gem. I have had fried chicken from here several times and the food is so good and great prices, especially for homemade food. Just ate breakfast here for the first time and it was wonderful. Great service, food & prices. LOVE the biscuits!!!

* * * * * says enough. Dont go expecting dover sole, chateaubriand or veal parmigiana cuz youd be in the wrong place. Fried delights are what this place is all about, as it should be. Southern comfort food without all the laid on thick Southern charm — and price tag — that one gets in «historic» Southern settings. Straight forward to the point no BS Southern food that I grew up on. And darn good at that. Loved those collards and black eyed peas. Add the fried chicken and you almost hit that big #5 *. They even offer the mandatory(not tabasco) pepper sauce — try to get that in Charleston, will you! Cant think healthy but you’re not supposed to. Think fried, salty goodness. I was too full to even consider dessert, a shame, I am sure. And no, don’t look for crème brûlée — think apple & pecan pies, coconut cake. B fast is next — and I am looking foward to it. Two issues: Corn muffins are a tad too sweet for me. And, sadly, only b fast & lunch service. Id love to hit a dinner there. Understandable, being a small family place but just a shame not adding a few delicious pounds on there some evening.

Need a place after church on Sunday in the South when you aren’t home? This is the place! We have been multiple times before, but it’s been a while. The girlfriend and I stopped in after church today and we were both thoroughly pleased. I had the fried green tomato BLT(fried green tomatoes, bacon, creole mustard on a heavenly bun) and the girlfriend had the grilled chicken. They seriously have the best grilled chicken in the world. Always seasoned well and juicy. Also a great selection of southern sides. Had banana pudding to finish the meal and it was very good as well. The service was also very good, and the food came in a timely manner. Also, the prices are fantastic. Got out of there for $ 20(including tip) for two meals with sides, drinks, and desert. I just wish they served breakfast on Sundays! I do not know why we haven’t been back sooner, but we definitely won’t wait so long again.

We came here for lunch and had their fried chicken, grilled pork chop, and ham along with some green beans, fried okra, and mashed potatoes. The meats were really good– out of the three I tried, I would have to say the fried chicken was the best. Very moist with crispy skin. The sides were very mediocre, but the portions and the quality of the meat carry this place.

Oh my gosh! We just had the best meal we’ve had since moving to Auburn a year ago! Delicious homemade items! I could eat here everyday and it’s very reasonably priced. My husband had the fried chicken and he said it was out of this world. I had the grilled catfish and it was great! Homemade tartar sauce really topped it off. The cole slaw was fresh and home made as well. The lunch price includes bread and iced tea. We’re planning to return on Monday for the Monday special — country fried steak This place beats Pannie George’s, the Bred Pub and Byron’s hands down for a good old fashioned ‘meat’n 3′.

I am appalled that this place has absolutely no reviews even until now. I came here the other day for lunch with my brother and hands down, this restaurant is the winner for best fried chicken I have ever had in Auburn. It was ridiculously delicious, hot, freshly breaded, and enormous. I have never seen a chicken breast that large in my life. Do actual chickens even come in that size? What was also ridiculous was how perfect the breading complimented the meal. I would only come back here for the fried chicken. Do not order the grilled pork. It was tasteless, tough, and awful to chew on. The broccoli and cheese casserole was cold and flavorless. The braised cabbage that resembles old floppy greasy vegetable noodles and the cream corn actually tasted better than they looked. The restaurant feels like your mom and pop’s cafeteria. There’s one larger bright dining room and a smaller room closer to the entrance. Once you’re done, you pay upfront so don’t be wasting time waiting for the waitress to come back.
