Ultimate Internet Access

We’ve had internet through UIA for 15+ years and had very few problems. We recently changed to fiber-​to-​wireless as our office moved to a building at which we couldn’t get regular broadband or shared fiber and T1 was too expensive and too long a wait for installation. The new service is great. They had a difficult time with installation here but kept at it. There was an extra charge for the excess installation time but hey, that’s fair. Whenever we do have a problem we can usually speak to an actual person at the company and get a resolution. I did notice their tech assistant hours are not as long as they used to be (it’s basically business type hours now and I think it used to be all the time) but I still prefer them over the «automation» one gets from the big companies. We’ve never had ANY problem with billing. And I like to support local businesses.

if there is a ZERO in rating, i will give ZERO, we been a customer for over 4 years plus, and recently we facing very un-​reliable connection wireless internet T-​1 service for our business for past three weeks, i have been spending my time to call them everyday to compliant our connection, and we are not able to do anything to improve our service or fix my complaint. this is TOTALLY Unacceptable, my business is effect by them on day to day has to suffer to relay on their service. i will not recommend their service to anyone to this company.

We had them for many years, at first the service was great, now it has gotten so bad that calls are not returned and service is not rendered. Then when you want to cancel they bring out the old :“cancellation Fee” calculation. I guess it works for them, when you can’t deliver good service try threats. Not a good way to run a company but I guess when your business is failing you do all you can.

We had them as part of our fail-​over solution for 2 years.
Since it was just a fail-​over, it was rare that we actually used it. I had our office wireless going thru it just so I’d know if it ever went down. That did happen once but I reset their modem and it was back.
I can’t speak to their line quality, bit I positively cringed at their poor business practices.
Essentially; they just don’t get it. They don’t think of it as earning a trusted business relationship.
1. They promised we could quickly (temporarily) increase the speed if the need arose. I didn’t get it on the contract — they seemed to run a very loose ship saying «oh yeah, we do that all the time, it’s just a 5 minute switch on our end».
When the time came, not only wouldn’t they do it but they refused to sell us that option even though it’s an offered product. I should say, they would sell it for about 15x our normal monthly price. How arbitrary!
2. They auto-​renewed us FOR A FULL YEAR rather than putting us on month-​to-​month. Sure, they «earned» an extra several months, but I promised myself to write this review the day we finally cancelled.
3. They’d «dunn» us with threats to suspend service about 20 days after their invoice-​print date. They’d never give a specific suspension date. They didn’t care that we’re a big corporation and it takes time to process a payment, much less receive it in the mail.
I spoke to their president about this (an indication of how small they are) and he was positively unyielding.
Good riddance!!!
PS: We really needed a paid-​by-​bandwidth WWAN connection since it’s just for fail-​over. Finally found that in Verizon. We get about 25 Mbps when we need it, but only pay $ 30/​mo when we don’t. Since we’d never use more than 20 or 30 GB during a fiber cut, the max we’d pay is still less than a month with UIA for far slower speeds.

As with so many of Ultimate’s internet customers, we came over after the collapse of Linkline Communications. Despite not having a contract with these people they worked their butts to make sure our Ethernet Over Copper connection with Pacific Telesys worked well. Their CEO called Pacific Telesys several times to make sure that we had service, despite the fact that the underlying carrier hadn’t been paid in months. Unfortunately due to Pacific Telesys cancellation of service we ended up changing internet service providers. However during that time Ultimate Internet worked hard with us to make sure that our email record which had been held by Linkline was transferred to us smoothly. This despite certain knowledge they would be losing our business.
Admittedly they don’t have the cheapest prices but for anyone who wants an ISP who will do serious work for any business I strongly recommend Ultimate Internet Access.

Great company to work with, excellent customer service and system is fantastic

I work for a manufacturer in Riverside, CA. Our only option for internet service was Cbeyond/​Birch. Our speeds were only 3.5mb/s, and the service would slow down drastically during the day. One of UIA’s salespeople had called us, and I set up and appointment with them. John talked to me on the phone several times, and I was very impressed with him. He came out and did a site survey, and told me he could get us 10mb/​s service. We signed up with him, and the whole process was great!!! The install team was professional, and had the install done in one day. John referred us to an outside subcontractor to install and setup a new firewall, and he was excellent as well.
John worked very hard to earn our business, and we have been very pleased so far. Our speed stays consistent all day long, and we have had no trouble at all since switching. We are looking forward to switching to them for our VoIP phone service when our other contract expires.

Out in the desert north of Helendale, we have few choices for high speed internet. No cable, and satellite device has limits on bandwidth. Then I found UIA internet. A new to the area company that provides service with micro wave. A good strong signal, I can now watch HD movies on Netflix and Amazon. Customer service is great, even though I haven’t had any problems. Not needing customer service to me is more important than continuously needing help.

My husband’s job recently moved our family from Kentucky to Victorville, CA. After a few days in our rental home we discovered that we had no T.V. service without buying a cable subscription and virtually no options for internet service in our area. As a stay-​at-​home mother to a 1 year old with another child due in 4 months who had never lived far from family, I was devastated! Being able to Skype with our family back home was so important to us and here we were, in CALIFORNIA of all places, unable to see those who meant the most to us. The few internet options that were presented to us were 24 month contracts with barely the speed of dial-​up (meaning no Netflix or Skyping). It was honestly to the point that we were considering breaking our rental contract and moving somewhere closer to town. My husband saw a flyer that UIA was upgrading our neighborhood to fiber internet within the next year so out of desperation I called to see if there was anything… ANYTHING…they could do. To my surprise, I was listened to by an incredibly helpful phone representative (John) and told that he would contact his manager to see if they could help us out.
Long story short, about a week after initially contacting UIA I had high-​speed internet in my home at a reasonable price with a contract that was exactly what we were looking for.
I honestly could not have been happier with the customer service or the product I’ve received. Everyone and everything in regards to UIA has far exceeded my expectations and I am extremely grateful for what they did for our family. I will be recommending them to everyone I meet and can’t wait to see the new fiber upgrades in our area later this year.

While I do not like writing negative feed-​back, I feel that if I had read some reviews on UIA months ago, we would have tried harder to find other providers.
We used to have LinkLine (loved them), but they were bought out by UIA. How did we find out UIA bought LinkLine? Other people in our building complex.
When contact with UIA was made (a bill of more than double LinkLine’s price), they were very rude. It was like speaking to a power-​hungry nerd with an over-​sized ego. They actually laughed at some of our questions over the phone, as though tech talk is common lingo for our non-​tech-​savvy owner.
At the end of the day, we felt we had no other option, but to go with them. No other companies claimed they would service internet to our area. We are now stuck in a contract for a year with internet of less than ¼ of the speed we originally had (with LinkLine), for double the price.
I’m giving UIA 2 stars, instead of one for only one reason; The internet is adequate. It’s not a glacial speed, but it certainly doesn’t compete with the speed (or service) we had with LinkLine. If the review was just about their personal service, that 2^nd star would –without question– be nonexistent.
Work on your customer service, UIA!

We were with Linkline for years and they apparently sold their business to these guys. The communication about the acquisition was very poorly handled. UIA did not notify Linkline customers. You found out about the acquisition when you used mobile mail or found the new charge on your bill. The notification on their website (
) looked very unprofessional – we initially thought Linkline had been hacked. Not long after that, our emails started being rejected because they were suspected spam. We also got over over 1,500 undeliverable emails that were spam that indicated someone had hacked into our email account. This had not happened in over 10 years with Linkline, so we completely lost confidence in UIA’s ability to service our account.
You can probably predict what happened next… We sent an email to cancel service and they ignored it, choosing instead, to bill us for another month’s service. Since they did not respond to the email, I called to follow up, but they still insisted on billing us for the service stating that I had cancelled service on the date I called, not on the date I sent the email. Obviously, it suits their purposes to say they never received my email and I can’t prove it now because the email account is closed. We have other options in this area and are very happy with our new provider. Our other family members who have UIA have also been plagued with spam and are in the process of canceling their service.

Do not get yourself into the UIA mess. Our company got pulled in by a UIA salesperson in the summer of 2013, with promises of faster Internet and new phones. We were supposed to switch providers in August, and by September we still did not have it. They recommended phones for us, which we purchased by their advice, since we do not know anything about phones. The phones were terrible, and because UIA took so long to get everything transferred, we passed the date where we could return the phones that we were unable to use. Thousands of dollars in loss.
We continued to receive bills after we cancelled their service (5 months later), even though we had never actually received their service. We spoke with their CEO to complain, and he refused to let us out of the contract.
The customer service was decent, but their company policies are terrible, they will rope you into contracts that they don’t fulfill on their end, and you will be stuck.

Customer Service and technical support are the best. I was very skeptical using this technology, but could not find a provider for cable or DSL in the area. I can tell you from experience now that this technology works very well and my skepticism was unfounded. I’d recommend UIA to others with similar conditions as mine.

I’m skeptical, but hopeful! I live in an area of Moreno Valley that has no other broadband/​DSL internet option. I have tried everything from dial-​up to Satellite with disappointing results. About 2 years ago I found point-​to-​point wireless from a company in Rancho Cucamonga. That initial company has sold a couple times but their customer service was always a bit lacking. So far UIA has been improving the internet service and most importantly the customer service since taking over. For someone that has virtually no other internet option, I truly appreciate the improvements.
I was impressed when they called me to let me know there was a problem with the tower serving the Moreno Valley area. Yes, you heard right. they called me!
I will keep up with this review and update the rating if things keep improving as promised.
