Ok. So I have been coming here for about a year and I have never been disppointed. Each time I come I get a chicken philly steak, fries and a drink… and it is delicious. I actually drive out of my way to come here. I also now have my friends and family hooked on this place. I might not be in Philly, PA but it sure feels like every time I come here. They get 5 stars and it is really hard to get 5 stars from me. I am a food critic by nature. The food is also reasonably priced. They just remodeled… looks great! The staff are really friendly too.

This place USED to be great. I am from Philly and this place used to do a decent job with their attempt at a a Philly icon. Today was by far the worse experience I have had at any establishment in a very, very long time. I don’t often write reviews and I write negative comments even less than that. I’m not sure if ownership has changed or management, but I do know they added menu items and raised all the prices significantly and quality has gone way down, something went wrong on the way. The mistakes made on our sandwiches were repeated more than 2 times in a row… ONTHESAMEORDER! We explained the way we wanted them made and they made the exact same mistake on the re-do. While we were there… it was a constant line of people in our same situation… all at the same time! We were in a fast food restaurant and waited over 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches… the personnel seemed like it was the first day on the job and I think we confused them by switching up the order. I don’t know, to me it seems as if your going to in that type of work, the ability to listen should be a prerequisite. Anyway… sandwiches were just as I expected, just as bad as the service. Too bad, that was the last time they will take my 20 bucks for a lousy meal. Good luck if you dare try them out… you’ll never find me there again. I know I am just 1 customer and 1 sale… the business won’t be hurt by this crappy review but I wanted to get it out there and I will be sure to let everyone I can know about my «wonderful» experience. Cant wait for a trip home for the real thing. Just change the name from Phillys Best to «we tried»

Geesh, I haven’t been here in year or so. This place used to be very good. Our steaks were over cooked and dry. They took forever to serve us when it wasn’t all that busy. Go to San Dimas… never had a bad meal there.

I went to Rockler next door and the smell from Philly’s Best was too tempting. Went in and received great customer service. Asked for recommendation but was already leaning towards the Philly Cheesesteak. I was happy when that is what they recommended as well. Got that and also some onion rings. The onion rings were amazing! Perfectly crispy and and soft onion in the middle. The cheesesteak was also great. If I had to do it all over I would order it dine in so that I could enjoy the cheesesteak while it was right off the burner. The onion rings didn’t survive the car ride home.

I have been here several times but not recently since I had moved. My husband and I went back and they have new staff. This made a huge difference! When I use to go the place was great! Good service and food! The new staff really need to be trained in customer service and cooking. My husband and I were on our way over there and decided to call ahead, so by the time we got there our food would be ready. Nope, the girl put me on hold and did not mute the phone, so I could hear her take several customers. I finally gave up and hung up. We walked inside and the girl did not greet us and was very unfriendly. I had to look for her to finally come over. She seemed so miserable. And the food was only mediocre. It was such a bummer to go back and be disappointed.

Philly’s Best? Not hardly. I’ve had lunch at four different locations of this restaurant chain, and this is far and away Philly’s worst. Walking into the establishment a tired, run down, looks-like-it– was-thrown-together-in-about-five-minutes dining room greets you. While appearances shouldn’t matter much, this is a case where the book could certainly and justifiably be judged by its cover. My wife had a Philly’s Best cheesesteak while I tried, for the first and last time, their Philly’s Best burger. My wife’s sandwich was loaded with half-cooked mushrooms, not much steak, and without the extra cheese we had ordered, but on the other hand it had a hair in it, so that’s a bonus negative. I’m also not sure how this happens, but this sandwich was completely lacking flavor, maybe it was in the hair, I don’t know, but barring that, it was nowhere to be found. The Philly’s Best burger had the same half-cooked mushrooms, but absolutely zero flavor. It was one of the sorriest examples of a cheeseburger I’ve ever had in my life. This is a burger that should be tossed from the menu and never ever see the light of day again. Maybe the other locations prepare them better, but this location’s preparation was genuinely pitiful. I’m sorry, but you need to do more than take a frozen hamburger patty and throw it on to the griddle to make a good burger. The only plus this specific restaurant gets is that the staff was pleasant, but that seems to be true of all the locations I’ve visited. To experience the ideal example of Philly’s Best, visit the San Dimas location. The restaurant was recently redecorated, but even before that it was clean and well kept. The food has always been amazing and the staff is warm, friendly and professional. Another hash in their plus column, parking is never a problem. Insofar as the Ontario Mills location is concerned, two words from this diner… Never again.

Great food, good service, and all the Philly Steaks you can eat! This is a family favorite of ours, and always will be. Service is quick and the atmosphere feels just like a local cheese steak shop in Philadelphia.

Bad customer service! I wanted to order a catering platter for my son’s birthday so I called to get information in what they offer. The girl that answered the phone was clueless and she said she will get the manager to answer my questions. On hold forever, the manager very rudely came on the line(seems like I was bothering him) Said, «Our platter is $ 129 feeds about 10 pp, and then hunged up on me! Wow, really!?. Very unprofessional coming from a manager. Wanted to call back, but why bother. obviously went somewhere else. Poor customer service and uncaring employees.

I come to Phillis best often. And I never had a complaint. But tonight was the worst service ever!!! We walked in, not even a hello, or eye contact. The two young men completely ignored us. I understand that they were busy. But they didn’t even look up and say we’ll be right with you, nothing. And when he finally came to take our order he just said what can I get for you? … Like really! Another down fall tonight, they are both not using gloves, handing money then going back to handle food, disgusting. I told him to please put on gloves before he handled my food. Super disappointed tonight!

I have loved Philly’s Best from the first moment I tried one if their sandwiches. Whenever I travel, I seek out the closest PB restaurant. I traveled almost 30 minutes to eat here tonight. It wasn’t busy when I arrived and ordered as soon as I walked in. The table I sat down at was dirty as were a few of the other tables so I wiped my table down myself. When I went to get my order, which was ready very quickly, I picked up my tray and when I turned around the order of onion rings spilled. Three of the large rings fell on the floor because the tray they were in was too close to the side of the tray and too small for all the onion rings to fit in. The cashier never offered to help puck them up so I picked them up myself and was never offered a replacement. Bad customer service. Even though the sandwich was very good… it wasn’t good enough to cover the lack of customer service. I will find another Philly’s Best to spend my money at.

I usually order an Italian hoagie, which is average. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak this time. It was horrible. The cheese whiz was awful. Not even the amoroso roll(which was good) could save it. There was also hardly anyone in there. The employees look miserable and the guy that appears to be the owner didn’t look much happier either. We are done with this place.

Average sandwich from a chain place. A little expensive for what you get with lots of additional charges for anything different. Not the best I’ve had nor the worst. Fries can be really good but weren’t the last time I went. Not a place to go out of your way for but if you are right there and have a taste for a cheese steak sandwich it will fill the crave.

If this is Philly’s best I don’t want to get near its’ worst! I ordered the Steak and Mushroom sandwich and added cheese with a side of cheese fries. The steak had no flavor to it and was rather chewy. The mushrooms were fine, but how do you ruin a mushroom short of burning it to a crisp! They charged $ 1 extra to add cheese and I chose the wiz. When I went to pick it up there wasn’t much wiz on the sandwich so I asked for more and they obliged without too much resistance. WARNING: The wiz is not Kraft Cheese Whiz and it is awful.(That’s what I get for asking for more!). The cheese on the fries was also wiz which made for a less than stellar meal! The bun fell apart before I was done with the first half because the grease wasn’t drained from the steak. I will keep searching for the Best cheese steak restaurant in the Inland Empire as this isn’t It!

Never had a bad meal there, employees will answer your questions with no issues and I have never had a order not done correctly. However the employees just don’t seem to be happy to be there…

Had their steak sub… Bread soggy and lacked flavor. You get charged $ 1 for add ons… Wow. If that’s a real philly sub than I don’t want to ever try a philly sub again!!! Doubt I will ever try this place again!

The fam and I were driving to the Los Angeles Convention Center for my daughter’s volleyball tournament Saturday 4⁄12 around 12pm. Since we were driving on 15N and would take 10W past Ontario Mills Mall, I asked the wifey to Unilocal a highly rated sandwich place, so my daughter could have some energy before her 3pm game. For the first time in a long time, Unilocal let me down. Four stars for Philly’s Best was extremely generous. The following review will explain my justified poor one star rating. I didn’t realize Philly’s Best was a chain, so maybe my one bad experience won’t be replicated at the other PB’s. PB in Ontario is located in a small strip mall outside of the Ontario Mill’s Shopping Center. When my wife found Philly’s Best on Unilocal,I got excited because I’m a philly cheesesteak connoisseur having eaten some of the best cheesesteaks outside of Philadelphia. Whenever I visit places and they sell cheesesteaks, that sandwich is my go to sandwich so I can see if their sandwich stacks up to the best tasting cheesesteak I’ve tried at DeFalco’s in Scottsdale, Arizona. Philly’s Cheesesteak in Ontario, you fall far, far, far short. First of all, customer service is truly lacking. When my family and I walked into PB, the older lady behind the counter, who looked like the owner, did not warmly greet us. She gave me the impression that we were bothering her. Note to old lady, besides your food, customer service ranks waaaayyyy up there if you want people to come back. When I asked the difference between a cheesesteak and a philly’s best cheesesteak, she rudely said vegetables. Sorry for asking a basic question. We ordered a philly’s best, italian hoagie, and fries. The philly’s best was messy, the bread was soggy, and the meat was nothing to write home about. The fries were soooo disappointing. Sogginess appears to be the theme of this place. I like my fries a little crunchy. These fries were like wet noodles and lacked any taste. When I asked my kids what they thought about their Italian hoagie, they both said the words that should tell you to avoid this place, «Subway is better.» Wow! The old lady asked if we wanted ketchup, so I asked for ranch. She had the gall to say ranch costs $ 0.50. Double Wow, you guys must really be hurting financially to charge customers for salad dressing. As I was snapping pictures of the inside of Philly’s Best Ontario, the old lady made a comment while chuckling about me taking pictures of pictures. Another note to old lady, you’re not funny. Here’s the topper and why you should never stop to eat here. When I told her I was taking pictures because I was a Unilocaler, her demeanor completely changed to a futile attempt at trying to be nice all of a sudden. She asked in what appeared to be a desperate plea, «What are you going to write?» Hopefully, this review answers your question. Final note to old lady, you don’t know who’s eating at your restaurant, so I recommend you treat your customers better with better food and waaaaaaayyyyyyyyy better customer service. I’m a proud Unilocaler and I did my community service for the day.

I’ve eaten at Philly’s Best locations before and they are usually great but this was the worst oneI’ve every been in. I had the cheese steak and it was mediocre at best while my wife had a BBQ chicken sandwich which was dry and very stale in taste and looks. The restaurant itself is dirty and run down looking and the bathroom is far worse by smelling of strong urine and tagging etched into the mirror. I would have just brushed this off as another lousy rating establishment but my wife and I both felt sick that night and exhibited symptoms of food poisoning. Avoid this place unless you like to feel ill.
