Definitive Vision

We have been going to Definitive Vision for several years and I won’t go anywhere else! Dr. Elwood is thorough, caring and helpful. He genuinely cares for his customers. The frames are always changing and always a huge variety. Not your run of the mill… They are wonderful at customer satisfaction, helpful in frame selection and handle all the insurance portion and explain it to you. Every time a family member or I stop in Dr. Elwood greets us and chats. A great neighborhood feel along with great services. They are very proactive with rebates too!

I called and somehow made it on the list for an eye exam same day. I think its just because they are a newer establishment. I use VSP and found them on the website for approved coverage. Since I usually just find the closest eye Dr. to my location at the time, I consider myself lucky with this roll of the dice.
Everyone was courteous and very efficient. I was in and out in about a half an hour I’d say. Given, I only ordered contacts and I knew the type I usually get, I’m a pretty easy sell. They’re price on contacts was very reasonable. I would definitely return next year or sooner if my insurance turns over at the beginning of the year and I can use it for glasses!

This place is chic and clean. Dr. Elwood and the staffs are so nice and classy. I have been going here for the past three years and never had any problem. They have a variety of cool frames and sun glasses. You can get the 50% off on second pair of glasses here which is so awesome. Highly recommended :)

Dr. Elwood is absolutely amazing! He’s the kindest, gentlest optometrist and always does a thorough, thoughtful eye exam but still gets you in and out of there pretty quickly. For being a small shop, they have a fairly good selection of eyeglasses and sunglasses, but they can be significantly pricier than big name shops like Lenscrafters, etc. The one downside to being a small shop is that it does take awhile for glasses to come in, since they have to send them out and aren’t doing them there. Otherwise, a great local optometrist that I would highly recommend.

I got a new pair of glasses here a while ago & didn’t even realize how excellent the experience was until I had the misfortune of going somewhere else (Stanton– avoid!).
The Dr at Definitive was very professional and he worked with me to balance out my need for eye care and not spend a fortune. I got new lenses and had them put into an old pair of frames I still liked. I almost regretted this choice because they have an excellent selection of designer frames.
I wear glasses everyday. My prescription is so high even people at the doctor’s office sometimes raise a brow. This means I need glasses sturdy enough to hold my coke bottle lenses & not break when I constantly switch between glasses and sunglasses. Also, I still want to look stylish. Definitive has lots of options for high quality frames and the service is exceptional as well. If I have any further eye care needs the rest of the time I’m in Omaha, I will return to Definitive.

Great doctor and great location in midtown.

This is the place to go. I’ve had regular checkups and glasses most of my life (nearly 50 years…), so I’ve been to a lot of shops — big box, small business, top-​of-​the-​line, and cheap… The first time I stopped here was because Dr. Elwood was new to MidTown Crossing and close to work. I’ve been back every year since and won’t bother with the rest. Appointments are always on time, Dr. Elwood and his staff are outstanding, and they have nice facility with the latest in technology, lenses, and frames. Prices are fair, they take most insurance plans. Plus, I get to support a local small business!

I’ve been getting eye exams here for 3 years. Dr. Elwood is extremely professional and personable. There is no dilation because they use a digital imaging machine. The glasses choice is pretty good. I just found out that they will price match contact lens prices you find online (up to a point). Good to know!

I’d grown tired of making an appointment at my previous optometrists office, only to be kept waiting till the doctor saw me, then feeling like I was being rushed when he did finally show up. A friend recommend Dr. Elwood, and I’m so glad that they did! We were made welcome by the very friendly front desk staff when we arrived, then as soon as the new patient forms were completed, Dr. Elwood came out and greeted us. He has a very calming demeanor, and is very patient and informative. You really do receive personal attention here, and I couldn’t believe how quickly and efficiently my eye exam was conducted — with no waiting! The office is clean and modern, and, from what I can tell, has state of the art equipment. In fact, at this office, it is now no longer necessary to have your pupils dilated for the glaucoma test as they have equipment that can check without dilation — this made me very happy!

This office exemplifies how a smaller, neighborhood business can provide quicker, friendlier, and more personal service. My entire experience was wonderful from beginning to end. Dr. Elwood combines the latest technology with warmth and caring. I’ll be sending more business his way!

Dr. Elwood and Jerry (sp?) were extremely helpful and courteous. I’ve never worn glasses before and Dr. Elwood made me comfortable with the entire process. They explained how my insurance works and answered every question I had. I will definitely return as a customer and would recommend them to anyone.

I’m a new patient/​customer and will definitely be back to Definitive Vision. Dr. Elwood and Alex were both very friendly and professional, and the exams for contacts and glasses were through and painless (no dilation!). I don’t have vision insurance, and found their pricing very competitive with no hidden fees.

I was very pleased with my experience as a new patient. I wasn’t kept waiting, the exam was thorough, and staff were VERY helpful in the all-​important frame selection. I will definitely return for my annual appointment.
There is also a deal on ordering a second frame, which I will be taking advantage of in the coming weeks. I wear these things every day, so having another choice to wear is worth the investment.

I can’t say enough good things about Definitive Vision! Dr. Elwood and Alex do a great job! They only stay open late one night each week, so it took us a couple of weeks to get an appointment. However, we didn’t mind since we were the ones without any flexibility. They were ready for us right away, and the exams were quick. Our eye insurance covered a good portion of the Exam and glasses/​lenses, so it wasn’t too bad out of pocket for two designer pairs of glasses (Nike and Kate Spade). They take about a week to 10 days to come back after your eye exam, so really not bad at all. We’ve recommended them to friends, and they have had similar experiences! We will continue to go back here for our yearly appointments!

Efficient and thorough exam; they have a way to take photos of retina without having to use dilation drops that blur vision for hours-​really appreciate being able to get right back to work without those. Frame selection is good; lots of the latest & trendiest styles. Not many budget priced options (most $ 200 – 270) so if your eye plan doesn’t cover it all just know you’ll be paying some out of pocket. Alex, at the front of office, is very friendly & has a great eye to help in frame selection.

Really love this place. Eye exams are less than $ 100 and the doctor is kind and thorough.
The front desk guy is great. He’s very helpful when it comes time to pick out lenses and he even took it the extra mile and agreed to mail my new glasses to me so that I didn’t have to drive back to the store.

Easy to make appointment. Great selection of frames. Very friendly staff and Dr. Elwood was efficient yet available for questions. Like the smaller feel of the office and can’t beat the location. I requested to keep my current contact lens brand and since they didn’t carry it in the office, they matched the 1 – 800 Contacts price.

Friendly, thorough, excellent selection of frames. The doctor even provided take-​home easy to read information about diet and nutrients essential for good eye health! That’s a first — something that is needed by more physicians!
