I caught a nasty cold right before Christmas and it just wasn’t getting better. Normally I wouldn’t go to the doctor for a cold but I have a new job where calling in sick just isn’t an option so I wanted to take care of it before it got worse. I was really happy with my experience. I saw Dr. Urmanski and he gave me a brief but thorough examination and wrote me a prescription for an antibiotic and a cough supressant. I know lots of doctors are reluctant to prescribe antibiotics as so many colds are viral but I’m so glad he did; I felt nearly 100% better the next morning; the improvement was really remarkable. I found Dr. Urmanski very pleasant and professional and I liked that he even provided a bit of patient education during my quick appointment(he noticed I was coughing into my sleeve, which is what I thought one was supposed to do, but he told me that unless I held my sleeve closer to my mouth, germ droplets could still spread). I like it when doctors take a bit of time to educate their patients so this was appreciated. My only complaint was that I had to wait about 90 minutes to be seen as there were three patients ahead of me. I think Dr. Urmanski was the only physician on duty; I was expecting there to be more providers there. But overall I had a good experience. The woman who checked me in was very pleasant as was the medical assistant. I hope that you won’t need to go to an urgent care clinic, but if you do, I’d recommend this one!

Most clinics are just generally uncomfortable and lame, from my experiences. Urgent Care of Olympia is no exception. II was suffering from a rash all over my body. Not fun at all. After charging me approximately $ 110, I was diagnosed with scabies and given permethrin, which is a strong scabies treatment. Two weeks later, my condition was not improving. I went back. They charged me another $ 90, which I did not want to pay, because I was sure that I had been misdiagnosed. The doctor there didn’t know what was wrong with me. Luckily, he got me an appointment with a dermatologist somewhere else and refunded the $ 90 that I was charged for that day. It would’ve been nice if he could’ve refunded the money that I had been charged for the previous visit when I was misdiagnosed, but whatever. The dermatologist confirmed my suspicions that I definitely did not have scabies and was able to treat me. Go here if you’re desperate. They’re nice enough, but it was pretty unsettling to get a wrong diagnosis and have to suffer for two weeks longer than if he would’ve got it right or sent me to the dermatologist the first time.
