I’ve only been here once so far, but I will be going back. It is a small restaurant, but has a great atmosphere. I had a burger that was cooked to perfection and I am very picky about my burgers. I also had calamari for an appetizer, which was good as well. The only«drawback» is because it’s so small, there’s no waiting area for when there’s a crowd.

Excellent! Miguel was our server-great job explaining etc. Decent. Angus burger was cooked perfect @ 10 bucks-pleased. Also had Red Snapper stuffed w/crab meat. Could of had more stuffing but was cooked perfect. Quite tasty! Craft beer selection wide. Very reasonable. John, the owner, met us at door as other reviewers stated. Very friendly. Asked where we were from-1st thing(Chicago Heights). Kept checking w/us as he knew first time there. Will be back

Let me first say, I like Johns for the ambiance it has added to the community. It is small, but quaint, and it is tastefully decorated. As a matter of fact, Johns has a very sexy and chic décor, with red painted walls, black painted flower murals, and chrome light fixtures.. The owner of John’s is personable and a family favorite for most. He greets most guests personally at the door to seat you at the table of your choice. If by chance, John did not get to seat you, he will definitely stop by while you are dining. Now, at this point, I have been patronizing John’s since it opened a couple of years ago. I typically really enjoy the Johns Burger, the Bison Burger, or the Ruben Sandwich. All of these are usually very hefty and delicious.. But, I must say, I do not recommend the Ribeye. Otherwise, you can enjoy great ambiance, a good burger, and certainly a great drink! John’s is one of the small town favorites!

Went here for the first time based on Unilocal reviews. We were greeted warmly and given option of sitting in the bar area or restaurant side. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the salmon blt, the salmon was cooked perfectly and was a generous portion. My companions ordered the burgers and said they were outstanding. Prices were very fair given the quality and generous portions. We’ll be back!

My husband and I went here for the first time and truly enjoyed it. We were advised to get the Angus Burger and the Jambalaya. They both were awesome. Spicy sausage in the Jambalaya made me very happy. The burger was one of the best we’ve had and we enjoyed everything about it. We will be returning to try other items. We also loved the bread. Grateful to have a gem in our neighborhood.

Great burger — best I’ve had around here. John is a welcomed site. Not many owners stop by your table these days. Calamari was also one of the best I’ve had, hated to share … Definitely worth the chance.

Not great. This food wasn’t great. They have potential, menu items that sound good. But what i had wasn’t good at all. Might give a second go, a year or two from now. Potential.

I really really really like this place. The crab cakes are delicious and the cocktails are as well. The owner is always around and loves mingling with his guests. That speaks volumes from my perspective. He is open to suggestion and makes great recommendations. There is plenty of free parking.

I Really wanted to love this place… really I did. I visited last night and ordered a medium well burger which came well done but I decided not to complain because it was my birthday weekend and I didn’t want the I was eating I noticed what appeared to be a small white hair on my French fries, I immediately showed the waitress who called the owner to the table. When he got there he looked at it and told me that it was a piece of onion from the burger. Now I know what a purple onion and a blonde/white hair looks like but it seems as if he was adamant about it not being hair. I think he could have remade the meal, well at least the fries but oh well I can’t tell people how to run their business. Not sure if I will be going back. I did like the ambiance.

We came here to celebrate our Anniversary. I recognized John from the Elmhurst Restaurant! Small world. . I had a wonderful glass of Merlot. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, which are stuffed with sundries tomatoes, and spinach. Next, we had the squash soup. AWESOME! !

I haven’t been back there since the owner, John, tried to convince me the medium rare steak I ordered(which came medium well and I promptly sent back) was medium rare(didn’t have a hint of pink it it). Then he complained about meals getting returned and his food costs. Eh? Is this exchange going to be on a reality show sometime? Even the patrons around me couldn’t believe what he was saying. Eat at your own risk…

We had the center cut pork chop, so thick(2 inch thick), with the brandy sauce, so very goooood. Comes with cooked vegies — awesome. The garlic bread was the best we ever had, such a wonderful flavor and the crust was very tender. I’m a chocolate lover, so you can guess what desert I went for, mmmmmmm.

We should have tried this place a long time ago! If your looking for great food in the south suburbs, you need to try John’s! Great food, great atmosphere and the owner, John is serious about making top quality food. I had the black angus cheeseburger and my wife had the vegetarian jambalaya. Both were excellent. Fresh baked bread and pretzel roll for the burger was very tasty. Very good service. We will be back soon, John!

I love John’s, It’s my guilty pleasure when I come out to the suburbs. The owner is so friendly and is always kind when I come in with my grandma. I really enjoy their burgers. They have a decently stocked bar as well. The staff is polite and always in actions and moving which is what I like to see with wait staff. This place is great for a lunch or dinner date.

This restaurant was incredibly impressive. Great staff, knowledgeable and friendly. The food is perfection. We stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. We were worried that our casual attire sometimes boisterous kids would be out of place. While rowdy kids don’t seem like a good match, our party was just fine. Our waiter was very attentive, taking time to thoroughly explain any items we had questions about. Still, the real star is the food. Everything we had(Jambalaya, burger, chicken breast) was expertly seasoned and prepared. I can’t recommend John’s more. We will definitely be returning.
