History

Established in 2011.

Ming’s Thing started in 2011 as a Food Stand on Farmers Market. Our «Sloopy», a Chinese Pulled Pork Sandwich and «Jian Bing» a Crêpe popular on the streets of Northern China were instant hits, and have become a favorite staples with many of our customers.

In 2012 Ming added her line of all natural scratch made dressings, which we use extensively for many of our dishes. All dressings are also available for our customers for purchase. Soon after Ming began to produce her line of charcuterie, scratch-made international inspired sausages and cured meats. In 2015 Ming opened the doors of her commercial kitchen to her customers and is offering a food truck style ambience with comfortable seating and phenomenal food. We all look forward to welcoming you

Meet the Business Owner

Ming Q.

Business Owner

Born and raised in Beijing, China, Ming spent a big part of her youth in her mother’s kitchen helping prepare the family meals. The idea of transforming simple items, such as noodles, into something absolutely delicious motivated her to try new recipes and continue honing her culinary skills.

At age 24, Ming opened her first restaurant in Beijing which became an instant success. A few years later, Ming switched gears and went into the hospitality business, where she ran the room service international business hotels.

When Ming and her family moved to San Antonio in January 2009, the growing culinary scene, particularly the blossoming farmers markets, motivated her to join in and start a business. Today, Ming’s Thing can be found at her train cart at 5249 McCullough Ave. And Saturdays and Sundays at as the Pearl Farmers Market. As in Beijing, hungry customers line up to eat Ming’s food and many work with Ming to cater dinner parties and special events throughout the week.
