I came with my mom and we both had our hair cut and conditioned. We were in dire need of it too bc it had been months. Ok maybe almost a year for myself, don’t judge me! Cutting my hair is stressful even though its nearly down to my waist, OK?!
Anyway we both saw Jessica who is super sweet and friendly. Mom went first so she could get her color started and I waited in the front area; was offered coffee and donuts/​bagels. Once it was my turn, Jessica got a feel for what I was interested in doing and made me feel at ease that she wasn’t going to cut off more than I asked for (which surprisingly has happened many times at other salons!) Let’s just say, my mom and I walked out of there feeling AWESOME! My hair hasn’t looked this nice in years and I love how she added some long subtle layers that look so nice when I blow dry and curl the ends.
We went to pay and I was almost charged a gloss fee for my mom but I asked about this b/​c it was never mentioned it was extra since we both had conditions included. Jessica promptly came over and said ‘no problem, I forgot to say that was an extra amount so don’t worry about it.’ I truly appreciate that she came over immediately and spoke to us about it since we were confused and let that slide.
Salon is cute and cozy and they keep it SO CLEAN! It’s nice to see hair dressers sweeping the floor every 20 mins or so to clean up the hair trimmings. It made me realize they take pride in the look of their workplace and I knew as a customer it was going to be a pleasant experience overall. If only this salon wasn’t nearly an hour away! Otherwise I would be back more often

Still loving it here. After my stylist, Jenna, moved away, I tried a different salon that is a bit easier for me to get to. I was looking to go from brownish hair to as blonde as possible. Long story short, I left with not nearly enough highlights and my hair felt so dry and tangled easily. I came back here a month later to have John work on my hair and it’s very blonde and very soft. Even softer then before the bleach. I am pretty sure the name of the product they use is Olaplex, and that is what prevents the bleach from drying. I am so happy to have hair so blonde so soon that is in great condition.

Went this past weekend to get my hair cut and colored by Jessica and she did an amazing job. Not only was she super nice, but every other hair dresser I’ve gone to always talked me out of going light and she was all for it. I’m so glad I did it because it came out great and I am so happy with it. The entire staff was also super friendly — offered me something to drink, smiled as you walked passed, very outgoing. The friendliness of the staff made me feel really comfortable. I also really liked how the owner walked around, giving positive feedback to his employees and asking if they needed anything while they were working. Overall, extremely happy with the job that was done — definitely coming back.

I went there on a living social voucher back. And I was expecting to be treated kinda well. Let’s just be honest.
shitty bc most places do when you use a coupon… But they were super nice and professional.
I got my hair cut and blown by Jessica and she really did a great job. I’m super annoying when it comes to my hair but she def didn’t act huffy or annoyed by any means. She was patient and listened. And I believe that is key to keeping a client.
The only downside to this place is I have called 3x already for a follow up appointment but every time they seem to put me on hold than answer than put me on hold again. Until I get impatient and hang up. Maybe get more secretaries to handle the front desk?
Anyways going try to call for another appointment soon… Wish me luck ! ;)

So far the best salon I’ve been to near Tappan, definitely going back to get my hair colored by Jenna. Love the way she layered & styled my hair!

The appointment process was super easy. Requested an appointment online and got a call from Nancy the next business day and I was able to get an appointment with Jenna the next day!
As for Jenna, she is absolutely wonderful! This is my 3^rd time I’ve come to her for color. 1^st was a full head of highlights, 2^nd was a glaze, this time I went for an ombré look. She nailed it each and every time! She was super meticulous in highlighting my whole head. And was never pushy about color, she worked with me to make sure it was doable. As for the ombré, no dip dyed ends for this girl. The ombré blends nicely from root to tip. Prices are also reasonable. You get great service, for a great price. They’ve got a customer for life from me!
PS — they offer you coffee/​water, make sure you are comfortable, and everyone is super friendly.

John Anthony’s salon was easy to make an appointment, clean and staff were friendly. At my first appointment, I met with Jenna who cut my hair nicely. She listened to exactly what I wanted and gave her feedback as well. My 2^nd and last appointment with Jenna was a total regret! I came in for a trim, yet somehow she convinced me of donating my hair. I felt a bit uneasy because she kept pushing me when I truly wasn’t ready to chop 8+ inches of my hair! I loved my long hair and have been growing it outside my last cut. I wanted the usual trim but I ended up being pressured and donated 8+ inches. Yes, it’s for a great cause but a week later I completely regretted my decision! :(

I love John Anthony Salon. It’s conveniently less than 10 minutes away from my home & everyone there is so ridiculously nice. The stylist I go to, Jessica, is amazing with cut & color. She did my ombré last summer & it was beautiful. This year she turned my blonde ombré into a red ombré & I was obsessed. I recently had her cut off the ombré & just dye my entire head a reddish-​purple & it looks & feels great! I will be going back next spring to have her re-​ombré my hair. The owner is always very pleasant & the décor is very chic. I recommend this salon to everyone.

I went there today to use my groupon and love my hair color. I gave 3 stars bc I had to pay extra $ 38 for the clay or whatever! which she said not included in my groupon. Plus she didn’t do conditional treatment that was included in my groupon! When I asked she said the girl washed my hair did! I didn’t want to argue but I’m not stupid!
The girl who washed my hair was very nice! The place is clean and would go back again.

Very clean upscale salon with exceptional customer service. I have used two different stylists here, Jenna and Jessica. Both are excellent at both cut and color. My daughters have received specialty services here ombré and up do hair styling. Employees ask several times if they can get you anything, coffee tea etc. it’s a very comfortable atmosphere, you feel like they are old friends. Highly recommend.

I haven’t had a bad haircut in a while. Until today. I haven’t had a bad haircut because I am very particular with my hair and give them specific instructions on how I want it done. Today she did everything I told her not to. I told her I LIKE IT LONG but she continued to cut away inches. I told her long layers, very long as in don’t cut much off for layers and she made layers that come about halfway up my head. I told her a light face frame and she used a huge chunk of hair for face frame. Some stylists are just chop happy and cut and disregard anything you requested not taking into account that I’M PAYING FOR THIS. Luckily it was a livingsocial coupon so I only paid 19 $, figured I could get a quick trim and blow out, serves me right. They don’t stipulate in their livingsocial that you will be getting one of their new stylists. Should have stuck with Panico, which I will now have to make a visit to get extensions.
I will say regardless of the horrible haircut, the place is pretty nice and it was quick and easy to get an appointment although there was also issues with making the appointment online.

So yesterday was Valentine’s Day, and I decided to make a last minute appointment for a blow out that morning. Pretty shocked that I could get in at 4pm, on a Friday nonetheless, on vday! Jenna did my hair. FYI, my hair is flat and straight as a pin, I just wanted a little volume and a few natural waves at the end, nothing crazy. She did just that! My hair is difficult to style myself bc it’s so long, and I got good volume and natural looking hair without a curling iron. Stayed well all night! Also– the box of chocolates on the way out was a really nice touch yesterday.

I had purchased a Groupon deal for a conditioning treatment, cut and blowdry. It is located in the typical suburban strip-​mall so you might be pleasantly surprised that the staff here seem to know how to do hair well. This place is amazing! Usually I’m hesitant with using Groupon deals because the establishments tend to be snobby to the clients; however, the entire experience from beginning to finish was great. The receptionist was extremely cordial, the woman who washed my hair (Raquel?) was amazing friendly and thorough, Irene (the stylist) was attentive to detail and very talented technically. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and explained to her what I was trying to do and she listened to me without trying to do something else entirely. Although I don’t live in the area, I will definitely be back to get another conditioning treatment, cut and blowdry with Irene for full price at this establishment. I highly recommend this place.

I was looking for a new hair salon an d as usual I wanted a cut ASAP. I called this place because it fad gotten good reviews and it was close to where I lived, not to mention open before 11am. You don’t need an appointment but I would always recommend one. My stylist was Jenna and she was wonderful. Not only did she help me make decisions on what I wanted, going from long to a bob, but great highlights. The atmosphere was clean and friendly staff. Prices were reasonable. I got highlight, lowlights, and a cut for a little over 200. Better than some places. If your looking for a new place too, this is a great spot.

Had a very good experience using a Groupon here. This was my first time to the salon and everyone was very sweet. The salon itself was clean and modern. My mom and my 3 month old daughter had to come with me and no one was upset about having a baby at the salon (first-​time mom, I worry about these things!) Jenna did a beautiful job with my hair, listened to what I wanted, and even taught me something about my new bangs needing to be trained to stay in their style. I would consider going again, and would definitely ask for Jenna again. Thank you!

Jenna HOOKED ME UP with the best highlights I’ve ever gotten. They turned out so good that its actually making me mad how much time and money I’ve spent on lightening my hair and here she goes and does it so effortlessly. I ended up skipping the cut since I just got one but her blow out was fantastic. I’d recommend her to anyone!

Another great haircut and blow out at John Anthony’s. They revamped the inside of the salon — very clean & chic. I’ll continue to be a loyal and frequent customer. Trust only the best when it comes to your hair!
