A chic beauty shop with hard to find California/​west coast hair, skin and nail products. They have the most incredible brands, including Kiehls, Moroccan Oil and Butter nails. They have unique jewelry and candles that feel very Ojai.
In the back they also have a full service salon where I’ve had my hair cut and colored by Denise. Denise is very skilled and knows what she’s doing.

My friend and I had been dying to try this place! We drive by it almost everyday and finally went in to try. When we walked into the nail part of glowest there was 2 ladies seated on their phones with no customers. One got up and asked what we wanted done. We told her we both wanted a manicure one with gel the other pink and white. She then turns to the other lady (who once again doesn’t have anyone at her station) and asks if she’s got time to do a manicure. Without even looking up she replies no. Then they go «oh we don’t do acrylic nails.» My 2 stars isn’t for the fact that they don’t do acrylic nails, it’s because the ladies made us feel very unwelcome and we where simply wasting their time

Kay did an amazing job on my hair!
Kay and I had a consultation prior to my appointment and she took the time to explain what to expect as far a management of color, process and approx. how long I would be.
The day of my appointment went as expected and she clarified a few times if we were on the same page as color and yes, we were! My appointment was close to the time frame and I was offered drinks from Kay but the other two gals also.

I got a Brazilian blowout and I absolutely love it… Great for curly or frizzy hair. Highly recommend GloWest.

Kay was an awesome stylist. She totally listened to what I wanted and accomplished it. She was looking out for me more than trying to create her own design. Two people offered me water, tea, or coffee which I thought was a nice bonus (wine would’ve been even better, but it was only 11am). This is a quaint salon with a lot of soul. I already prebooked my next appointment! Can’t wait.
p. s. Kay spent extra attention during the shampoo scalp massage, I feel that alone deserves 5 stars.

«Denise is extremely talented and skilled. she’s cut and coloured my hair after discussing in depth with me what I wanted to achieve. Clearly from other clients in the salon who stopped to say hello Denise is highly respected and admired. I just moved to Ojai and I already found my colorist & stylist! I was feeling unkempt & disheveled after our move & Denise gave a much needed cut: it’s easy and looks great without any work, and she gave me a beautiful natural overall color & highlights. Love her & will be going to her regularly now!

What a transformation! The new space is neat, clean and efficient. I have had several cuts with Stephanie who also cuts hair for my children and does an amazing job (sweet, talented, and quick — a mother’s kid haircut trifecta!). Would highly recommend.

Denise is great! I am very picky about my hair color (a nutural brunet who prefers to be blonde :-) and recently moved to Ojai. Thought I might have to drive back down to OC every 5 weeks just to get my hair done. Was so lucky to find Denise and Glo West. The whole staff is friendly and helpful.

Although the salon has new owners an apparently some changes, it appears some of the previous employees have remained the same. The lovely Stephanie gave me the most beautiful curls, and I enjoyed showing them off later in the night!

Another perk to this amazing salon is that the store literally has all the top notch products for women and men. Hair, skin, cosmetics, body, bath, fragrance, tools, candles, gifts, etc. The selection was impressive. Some of the items can be found on the official website.
N E G A T I V E S:
Minus one star since they overbooked appointments, and my mom needed to find a new salon at the last minute. This was not only inconvenient, but the reception confirmed the appointment the previous night.

OH NO! Busy Babes sold to someone else! LOVED Busy Babes — HATE the new place (Westward Glo, or something??)
Took my $ 100 gift cert that I had received from my mom for my birthday to the new owners and they wouldn’t honor it! Now, I could understand that if they had become a furniture store or a restaurant or something… but THEY BOUGHT THEIR BUSINESS! Shouldn’t they honor their ‘debts’?? Well — ripped off for $ 100! Will NEVER shop there again and will let all my friends in Ojai know about their bad business practices!

I had Kay do my hair and makeup for my wedding and she knocked it out of the park! I was on a tight schedule and was flying from DC to Ojai for our wedding so I definitely had my fingers crossed but Kay completely put me at ease. I told her what style I was going for and she nailed it! Couldn’t have been happier with the results! :)

Had a great haircut and color with Kaye, she’s amazing! Love this place.

Let me start by saying this is a mixed review. I had my haircut by Kay and my eyebrows waxed by Roxanne. Both girls did a fabulous job! Such a good job in fact, that I was so blissed out I almost missed the fact that the lady at the register overcharged me $ 60! Two days later, after several phone calls I finally get a return phone call saying they will send me a check for the mistake, because they can’t just put it back on my card. Even though the actual salon services were fantastic, the inconvenience factor brought my rating way down. I am so disappointed, because I was planning on making this my go-​to salon. Now I will probably look elsewhere…

I had my hair and makeup done for a wedding yesterday by Kay. The updo was way more beautiful than anything I could have ever imagined and my makeup was amazing.
This was my first time getting my hair styled and my makeup done and I now understand why people spend money on things like these. The entire staff were so friendly and welcoming, and Kay was so sweet.

Came inside because there was a sign out back advertising 1 hour massages for only $ 50 and walk ins welcome. There is only one massage room and one masseuse, so I was very lucky that they were able to accommodate me right away. Deb gave me an amazing 1 hour massage using lavender oil. The room was dark, soothing music, candles and relaxing. Because the shop is quite small, you could hear the sounds of people talking in the hallway here and there. But overall, had a great experience. Can’t beat the price!

If you ask me I would tell you Busy Babes is the best hair salon in Ojai. I believe it is already well established that Busy Babes is the best place to get a haircut in Ojai, but I have built a personal respect for this salon. Not only the best place to get a woman’s haircut, but also the best place to get a man’s haircut. I always had this thought process that a man’s hair cut was not worthy of a skilled professional until I went to Kay.
Kay has been cutting/​styling my hair for some time now and I am amazed at the skill and professionalism that she exhibits. I don’t know why I ever thought that just because I was a man I deserved to go to a cheap hair cutting place and get my dreads butchered? So I can say if you are a guy and want a really good hair cut that will actually be styled to look better than you could imagine, go see Kay, the best hair stylist in Ojai. I know you will enjoy your experience and will be amazed at what she can actually do with your hair.

Came here to get my hair done for my wedding in Ojai last month. I believe I worked with Natasha. She was great! I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted but she made miracles out of this old mop and it stayed together ALL NIGHT! Would definitely recommend.

I wanted this experience to be good. It’s my birthday tomorrow, and I wanted to treat myself to a great haircut. I’m tight on budget, and low on time, and have to work on my bday, so this was the extent of my celebration. I arrived 5 minutes late, and they said they didn’t have time for me! If I had been on time, they «could’ve squeezed me in.» I made my appointment a week ago! Not the relaxing treat I had hoped for. Too bad.

Came here a few days before my wedding and got my eyebrows done! Having really fair skin, waxing defiantly takes a toll on me with normally having a full day of redness and puffiness. Can’t remember the lady’s name, but she was fantastic, really gentle and after put essential oils on my eyes for the redness! I was back to normal a few hours later, never had a great experience with waxing before, but I will defiantly come back here.
