Two Bit Street Cafe

The Blue Chips are to die for and the Creamy Greek pasta salad is awesome. Great place and great food and great atmosphere. This is one of our favorite places to eat on 25^th st.

The food is really great! The history is amazing! The owner is very friendly and sometimes performs a magic trick!

It’s really hard to find a bad restaurant on Ogden’s 25^th street. There are plenty of options on 25^th so its hard for a business to stand out from the rest and the only downside of this place is that it really doesn’t stand out from the others around it.
When you are here you will meet a nice group of waiters and waitresses. They have 2 older ladies who do most of the waiting and I think it really adds to the atmosphere of the café. I don’t know if they did it on purpose but i like it. Feels like «grandmas kitchen» even more that way. They were incredibly nice and really knowledgeable about the menu and made it really convenient for us to know what we wanted to order. Service was exceptional.
The food was great as well. We got talking with the lady who sat next to us and she told us many different menu items that she loves to get. Seems like they have made a name for themselves as far as food goes. They have signature Bleu Cheese Chips that are awesome. However, I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak, because I am a sucker for a good philly sandwich. It was good, but i was not overly-​impressed. I felt that it was a little bit dry and the steak was just a bit overcooked. I had to put a lot of extra sauce on it. Kind of disappointed but it had good flavor. Maybe just a fluke sandwich. I felt like the sandwiches were priced exactly where they should be.
Overall I would come back. I like the authentic atmosphere and customer satisfaction. If you haven’t been here, you need to give it a try. You won’t be let down with the overall experience.

I was starting to believe this place didn’t really exist. I’ve heard so much about the Two-​Bit Café from my family, and yet every time we previously tried to stop in, they were suspiciously closed (I was starting to have an existential crisis: thinking that my parents were crazy and that the café was indeed 100% imaginary… or that maybe I was). However, we got lucky over this past weekend and I was finally able to stop in and enjoy a Sunday morning meal in the Historic part of Ogden.
The set up of the Café is very eclectic — and not in a bad way. There are tons of things to look at, and can keep you entertained while waiting for your food. The old-​timey bar is freaking awesome. You can feel the history of Old Ogden while sitting near it, and can play through many old bar scenarios in your head. Along with the atmosphere and decorations, the menu is also fairly vast with options. They have items that cater to both big meat eaters, as well as my veggie-​lovers, even offering meals that involve vegetarian meats (yay!).
We came in slightly on the back-​end of the morning rush, but were seated immediately and were watered and coffeed up. After quick perusal of their physical menu (I have an addiction to previewing menus, and making decisions before I actually get in the restaurant), I went with their Build-​Your-​Own-​Omelet option: a set $ 5.50, then adding 0.25 cents per topping… really not a bad deal at all. I added six veggies to mine (a freaking super veggie omelet I created!) putting my overall bill at $ 7. You can rarely find a deal like this for breakfast. The omelets come with just toast (or you can sub a pancake when it’s slow traffic — they only have a few burners in the back) which is fine by me. I’m normally an endless potato girl, but adding any more to this dish would have made me overly full.
I was warned by my family when sitting down that the service was a bit slower here… but I hardly noticed. Between the décor and great company, I felt like our food was out in no time. If a little wait is an issue… just be sure to go with people who can help you enjoy it.
We had Holly as a waitress — and she just added to the overall experience. She was very attentive, and funny — keeping our glasses filled and passing on a couple of jokes.
Overall, the Two Bit Street Café made for an enjoyable addition to a Sunday morning. I will definitely be returning to experience the old time atmosphere, the fun variety of food items, and the great service. I’m glad this place ISN’T just a figment of imagination. I needs to be shared.

Really slow. The coffee was good but, after waiting an hour, I had to leave before I got my food.

We were not very impressed. Our waiter was very casual about drink hygene; pressed the pitcher onto the rim of every glass and let straws hit everything while giving refills. My salad was pretty good, but it is hard to mess up a salad. My husband’s steak was not cooked properly and he was put off by that. He had asked for medium and got very rare. The owner seemed nice, but there were a lot of flies coming in and out of the back door. The back area where we were seated seemed like it was more of a storage area for the magic show than resturant seating. Overall, the food was not good enough to make us want to return to the environment it was being served in.

Very cute décor. They seemed to be slow. But service still took a while. Food was decent. The kids loved their pancakes (whole grain) no kids menu though. My sandwich came out about 10 mins before the rest of the family got their meals. Everything was good. Until my son found a white hair in his food.

The co-​owner performed some cool magic tricks for us, a couple of weekends ago, while our breakfast was being cooked.

We were the only ones there on a Tuesday evening, a little warm and musty inside. It took roughly 30 minutes to get our food after we ordered. I had the greek pasta salad with chicken. It tasted fabulous! Unfortunately, I paid $ 2.99 extra to add chicken and received maybe 5 – 6 small bite sized pieces in a big bowl of noodles and spinach leaves. The waitress was friendly and checked on us from a distance, as no one else was there. Overall, it was good.

I was excited to try this place out based on the reviews. Our waitress was the sweetest but unfortunately that couldn’t make up for the food. I ordered the turkey cranberry sandwich and asked if they could switch the cream cheese for Brie. They could not honor the request. Food was mediocre. I could have made better at home.

Tried the Vegan Thai PANINI. I was not able to eat more than three bites since it was EXTREMELY salty. My Stepdad enjoyed his Philly Cheese Steak however.
I liked the location and the old look of the place. They probably should remove some of the blue painters tape that is still on the ceilings around some of the fan bases.

My wife and kids stopped by here on a Friday night because my wife had heard they did some kind of magic show or something for the kids. We did not see anything like this. Overall not the best of experience but not the worst either.
The good: I liked the look and feel of the restaurant. It was pretty laid back. My kids wanted pizza but they were out do we had to get them a much more expensive dish, ravioli. The good was they loved it but didn’t want to spend that much on there dishes. I tried it and the sauce was really good and the cheese raviolis were excellent. I had the garlic burger and the flavor was good but a little overcooked. It was a bit dry for me but the flavor made up for it. My wife was not very hungry so she ordered a salad and the cauliflower and carrot soup. The soup was just ok. The service was excellent and the food came out faster than expected.
The bad: We tried to order 2 different things and both items they said they ran out of. The kids pizzas and the scotch eggs. I get upset at a restaurant when they run out of things. They did not offer anything to make up for it either. Would have been nice of them to offer a discount or something. Between the 4 of us we spent 51 bucks, 2 adults and 2 kids. My burger was dryand they ran out of food we wanted so that was my biggest complaints.

Housed on Historic 25^th Street, the Two Bit Street Café offers a cool atmosphere to enjoy a meal. The inside is similar to a lot of the old bars on 25^th street as the wood work in each one of them is untouched from days gone by. It adds a nice flair to the place and lends to a good experience.
I ordered a Cuban sandwich, which was tasty and good sized. The fries were outstanding and the waitress very friendly. The menu offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner and a wide variety of appetizers. I wanted to try the Scotch Eggs but the waitress told me the kitchen wouldn’t make them outside of breakfast. When I pointed out they were listed in the appetizers she merely stated the kitchen staff didn’t like to make them. Too bad as they looked great.
There is a full bar here and you can get a beer or mixed drink while you dine. Come to relax as it isn’t «fast» food but it is good food.

I had the eggplant sandwich and sweet potato fries. Wow! Everything was fresh and hot and delicious. The ambience was that of an old fashioned saloon, or parlor. They have ample vegetarian entrees or sandwiches on the menu. I’m trying to eat less meat so I looked up vegetarian restaurants and this was on that list. They didn’t disappoint!

A nice old fashioned Café with friendly service. A good selection of menu items so. I did this review after several visits to make sure it was a fair. I found the tables and some of the dishware to be dirty on each of my visits. Needs a bit of work in this area.

Fantastic find in the historic area of Ogden.
I came here based on Unilocalers reviews and left feeling the same. I ordered a baked Brie sandwich with a citrus salad side. The bread was fresh cranberry and so Delish!
I say GO!

If I could I would give them a half stars because they are teetering on the edge of being really great.
While working in Ogden we were directed to this place by Unilocal.The downtown district of Ogden has a fun historical feel, and 2 bit seems to fit right in.
On recommendation of a fellow Unilocaler, I ordered the garlic burger (no bun) and subbed out my salad for some sweet potato fries. The bf got the ham steak and eggs.
The prices were reasonable and I could smell the garlic in my burger wafting from the kitchen. Our server was very friendly and accommodating.
The bf’s meal was pretty standard, though he was disappointed by what they called «country potatoes» which turned out to be nothing more than big chunks of your standard Idaho spud. He had also asked for them extra crispy, which they weren’t, though I imagine it would be difficult to get chunks that size crispy.
My bunless burger didn’t visually wow me, but the flavors were on point. I did notice that the fairly standard pattie was still a little pink on the inside. I don’t know if they have a license to cook their burgers to anything other than done, but I’m hoping that they at least got it up to temp. (if I become violently ill soon we will know what is what). If I don’t get sick, then I must applaud them for quality of the beef. It was tender, juicy, and bursting with garlicky goodness.
The sweet potato fries were thick cut and a little dense, but not bad. I prefer somewhere in between shoes string and where they fall, but that is purely personal preference. So long as I have a gallon of fry sauce I’m a happy camper.
Overall this place has a ton of potential, and the prices are a selling point along with the cool vintage feel of the building. I would be willing to give it another try someday… So long as I survive the night.

Funniest experience ever. Delicious food, good price.
Hostess told us we’ll have to wait. Got seated. Cook kept coming out rolling his eyes at all the people and the server. Warned us how many people were before us. He kept wishing people would stop coming in. We could see him in the back, chef had flare, and everything was made fresh.
Hostess was server too, very nice to us and our baby. Everything took forever, but sounded like they were short a few people, and there was an arts festival in the area. Will definitely come back.

This funky bar/​café is somewhere we have walked past forever — and have just never been in. Looking for somewhere different for weekend brunch we went in… and became fans!
Being from across the pond, the Scotch Eggs were a must! And, oh boy, they were so good. I had the Brie and cranberry sandwich to follow, which was made from lovely cranberry bread. The spinach salad that came with it was perfect with the lightest of dressing.
The owners are brilliant and I can’t wait to hear more of James’ stories!
