I could have sworn I reviewed Whistle Stop before. I’m shocked that I haven’t. Well, here it goes. I dont have pictures, because the cake gets demolished every time I get one from here. It’s a badass cheesecake, if there ever was a badass cheesecake title. I’ve gotten canollis here before too, and they’re very good. They’re done the right way– shells are in a jar until you request one, and then it’s filled with fresh canolli cream filling. Their crumb cakes are great, too. There’s no complaints– just wish it wasn’t in the middle of nowhere! But it’s worth a little detour over by oil city if it means a celebration will have whistle stop cheesecake: P Definitely go try it out if you haven’t before! It’s a hidden gem of the south shore.

Coming from 12 years in the city with some of the best bakeries in the country, I have been a huge snob as many of the restaurants in Long Island just don’t cut it. Living in Rockville centre, lines are out the door at Front street bakery(especially during holiday time), but I really don’t see what all the hype is about. My neighbor told me about whistle stops amazing cheesecake, and after 1 visit, it is the only bakery I go to now. Amazing cheesecake, and their rugelach is the best I’ve ever had! My husband and son also love their rainbow cookie. Thanks whistle stop!!!

This place has become a new obsession… especially for the Mr. Everything we have tried has just been fantastic. The cheesecake, the chocolate covered macaroons, the pumpkin loaf, the apple pie. Everything is just so well made and delicious. If you find yourself anywhere in the vicinity, it is worth seeking out this unassuming little bakery.

I’m not a huge cheesecake fan, but I’ve been dreaming about Whistle Stop since a coworker brought a variety for a party. I’m a pig, so I tried 3 different slices of cheesecake: their original, chocolate marbled, and I believe some strawberry/raspberry swirled slice. They were all AMAZING! It was the creamiest cheesecake, and the graham cracker crust had just the right hint of salt. I popped in once and tried their carrot cake, and it was OMG delicious. I am dying to come back here and try their other desserts. I will for sure order some pies for the holidays. Definitely recommend you check it out!

Cakes and cheesecakes are both great. I even used them for my wedding cake — I got a vanilla cake and added some fresh flowers. Delicious!

I have heard good things about this bakery for years but it is in a location that makes it easy to miss. Then someone gave me the Chocolate Swirl Cheesecake as a holiday gift and my life was changed forever!!! The graham cracker crust and rich flavor of cheesecake with the chocolate swirl is absolutely amazing. For such a great dessert, $ 17 is not a bad price. The girls working there are polite and friendly. The display case is filled with beautiful and delicious-looking desserts and I urge you to try it out for the holidays!

This past weekend we purchased another cake from Whistle Stop and just as we have in the past, we really enjoyed the cake. It was for my daughters 5th Birthday and all of our guest were discussing how great the cake taste. It was very moist, the flavoring was awesome and the cake appearance was fabulous. This is my favorite Bakery now. We even bought cupcakes and they tasted great too. Thank you Whistle Stop.

I’m about to get fat, really, really fat. In fact, my whole family is too, because we just discovered this bakery. My PTA has done Whistle Stop pie fundraisers before but I never realized they had a retail outlet! Yes, I’ve missed out on many occasions to wow my family with their delights, but no more, because this is my new go-to bakery! Like a hole in the wall, this local gem’s quality of baked goods is like home-made(no skimping by using cheap ingredients). I have only tried their pecan pie and fruit tart, which my family rave about, so I’m looking forward to my summer journey of trying everything in this little bakery.

I’ve been coming here since they opened(about 20 years?) and this is by far THEBEST bakery to get occasion cakes and cheesecakes from. Even the sugar-free cheesecake is amazing. I really have no idea why I waited all these years to review this amazing bakery! Our favorite cake to order is their Tres Leches cake and every time we order it for any party or birthday, people always ask where it came from. We have even picked this cake up many times to bring to other friend’s parties who do not live in our area. The cakes are consistently perfect and delicious and their raspberry crumb cake is to die from! Their pies are great too! If you like yellow cake with the best chocolate fudge anywhere, try their Chocolate Heaven.

Whistle Stop is a great dessert store. Have never had bad food here. Napoleons are great. Pecan pie is killer.

This place is a solid 5 stars! They are super consistent, and are the best around! They make the richest, creamiest most delicious cheese cakes. I recently went and tried a very popular cheesecake place out in the Hamptons that everyone has been raving about, it didn’t stand a chance compared to the whistle stop bakery. Go get some!

Ridiculously good cheesecake, canoli cake, raspberry crumb cake, apple fruit pie… I could just go on and on and on. Everything in here is delicious. You literally can’t go wrong here. Best cheesecakes/cakes on Long Island.

The Best Red Velvet Cake In Town Hands Down I have yet to get something that was not terrific. You can’t go wrong at Whistle Stop. Even my hardest to please friends love everything I’ve bought from there. It’s my go-to item to bring when I go to dinner parties. The guests ALWAYS ask where the cake/pie is from. They make the best Red Velvet Cake in town hands down with just the right amount of buttermilk and don’t over do it with the chocolate like others do. Yellow Cake w Chocolate icing, Rainforest cake, Carrot Cake, Apple & Pecan and Cheery pies, & all of the cheesecakes are great!

If you grew up on the South Shore, you probably know this beloved family owned bakery on an industrial stretch of Lawson Boulevard. Everyone in my family goes crazy for their cheesecake: we usually get the one with quadrants of pineapple, cherry, blueberry, and strawberry toppings so everyone gets a flavor choice. Their pies are also very good, but the assortment of butter(Italian) cookies is my absolute favorite. Umm num num!

Simply put: the best cheesecake. The best. Their other items are fantastic, too!(My best friend and his(now) wife had Whistle Stop bake their wedding cake. If you grew up on LI’s South Shore you grew up on this cheesecake. A few years ago I sent one of these cheesecakes to my in-laws. They loved it. I ruined all other cheesecake for them. They made me ship one the next year… then Hurricane Sandy struck shutting down the bakery’s production temporarily and, seemingly more permanently, their shipping capabilities. I’m so glad that WS is up and running — I got to have some of the cheesecake over Thanksgiving while visiting family friends on LI — but very sad that I can’t have the cake shipped to my in-laws. We managed last year, and will manage again this year, with Junior’s cheesecake. It’s good. It’s very good. But it’s no Whistle Stop. None-the-less, I’m glad that I got to introduce some people to WS cheesecake who otherwise never would have had the best cheesecake there’s to be had.

The… absolute…best…Macaroons…in…all…the…Land! Possibly life changing macaroons. They are sweet, creamy, coconutty and covered in delicious chocolate. You might be tempted to share one because they are so large but trust me, don’t. Be selfish and indulge!

DELICIOUS. I ordered a custom sheet cake for my boyfriend’s birthday bbq. It was such a pleasure to work with the people here. There are a lot of custom options to choose from. I got a layer of chocolate cake and a layer of vanilla with a fresh strawberry/whipped cream filling and topped with whipped cream. I also got a picture scanned on and it came out very clear and sized just right. Everyone loved the cake! It was SO tasty. def recommend getting your custom cakes here! No surprise this is a top rated bakery in Long Island Will def come back again! Can’t wait to try the other baked goods!
