Our friends came to dinner and brought dessert from Agrigento. The apple pie was delicious, usually, I am not a huge fan of this pie, but this one was amazing, delicious crust, not too much cinnamon or sugar, and just bursting with a great sweet apple flavor. The Italian cookies were OK, I am just not a fan of these cookies no matter the bakery, but I am going to stop next time to try their cannoli and rainbow cookies.

I’ve passed this place about a million times, always said I wanna go in & try it and I finally Did. I’m kicking myself for not coming here sooner. Being a guy with Brooklyn roots, I’ve been to a bakery or 2 in my day. This bakery CAN compare! From the bread, to the pastries, to the cookies — everything is fresh & made with quality. If it’s available– buy a meat bread! It won’t upset. Pastries– from the creams to th actual pastry. Amazing. The cookies– all are great by nothing compares to Pignoli cookies. They are phenomenal. Service can be a little abrupt but that’s because they always have a line and wanna keep It moving. I can understand that. Parking is a little limited since it’s located on busy Austin Blvd. watch for traffic when opening your car door!

I don’t understand all the hype about this establishment. I came here today and bought 2 cannolis which both tasted burned. I bought a pound of cookies, they were just okay. Cosco has better tasting cookies and cheaper. I then purchased a ½ pound of biscotti, seems like their scale is broken, they only gave me 4 of them. I also bought a wheat pie, what a total waste. Seems like long islanders don’t really know what a really good bakery is like. Villabate 18 the ave Bk, Villabate 28th ave Bk, Villabate 18th ave. This is a real Italian bakery hands down. If you can’t get to Brooklyn, then bring an Entemman’s, your better off, at least it’s consistently.

Best bakery in the area. They are from the«old neighborhood» where I grew up with all the Italians in Glendale, Queens. You will find old fashioned Italian desserts you won’t find elsewhere. The cannoli dip is a hit at every party. Pastries are fresh and light. Best place around — I used to drive to Brooklyn for good pastry until I discovered this place. I walked in and knew the family from where I grew up. Small world, very good place.

My brother and I stopped here on Christmas Eve in a hurry to pick up dessert for Christmas Eve dinner at someone’s home we were invited to. The woman helping us really helped identify approximately how much we’d need for the group of people we were feeding. It was VERY busy, which I always take to be a good sign! Everything we got was divine, but the rainbow cookies really stuck out in my mind. They were DELICIOUS! Highly recommended!

Not only are the baked goods absolutely delicious but this is the kind of bake shop that existed in the 1950s in Brooklyn. Everyone who enters is treated like an important customer. I just got off the phone with the baker, Pasquale, about ordering something to meet someone’s dietetic needs on Christmas Eve. He was so accommodating. Imagine a store wanting to do something special for a customer during its busiest season! I love Agrigento and everyone there. And where else can I buy fresh made marzipan in the shape of fruits — the best sfogliatella — a huge assortment of mini Italian pastries — I could go on and on but I’m making myself hungry!

I married into a fairly large Italian-Irish family and parties and get-togethers are large, noisy and fun. The food expectations are very high since there are a number of great cooks in the family. We always get our giant cannolli’s here for special parties. Best giant cannolli ever! The cannolli cream is perfect and so fresh. All of the pastries are so good and the owner and others that work there are exttremely nice. Highly recommended.

Let me tell you something about picking a good bakery… If you’re not picking Agrigento Bakery, YOU’REPICKINGTHEWRONGONE! This bakery sets such a high standard of excellence through both their treats and the service that it is impossible for any other place to compare. I could eat the rainbow cookies for breakfast, lunch and dinner… and I swear the last time that I brought the pastries into work they were gone before I even got one! What a phenomenal bakery. 5 stars are well deserved without question.

Recently had a Lobster Tail and a Cannoli and they were by far the best I’ve ever had. The french cream in most bakeries is too heavy and sweet. This place does it right-light, creamy and extremely addictive. Just the way it should be. After living in Manhattan and Brooklyn for years, I was shocked that the best Italian Bakery I’ve been to is located in Long Island.

Really, only 2 reviews? I can only think its because all the old school die hard Italians come here, and they ain’t on the Unilocal ;-) This bakery is DYNAMITE! My husband & I usually buy 30 bucks worth of mini pastries, just for us, and its all gone in 2 days. Hands down the best pignoli cookies of my life, and the rainbow cookies(get the larger triangle shaped) are more than a step above any I’ve ever had… and Im Italian, they’re a staple to my diet. I just ordered my first cake, one layer of canoli and one of chocolate pudding. I know I’m going to wish I bought a bigger size! Very unassuming, you really have to go! Better than Whistle Stop, way way better than Country Boy.

Our favorite Italian bakery near Long Beach! I love the Saviads… my wife gets rainbow cookies and Pignolis all the time. They have GIANT cannoli’s too… crazy big for parties. Kicks the crap out of Country Boy in my opinion. We are regulars.

This Italian bakery is amazing! A benchmark for Italian bakeries on Long Island. The scent of fresh baked goods(One of the most wonderful scents in scentdom) hits you as soon as you open the door. The cases full of delicious pastries, cookies, pies, and cake. It has taken the top spot as my favorite bakery. The Sfogliatelle are amazing(One of the hallmarks of a good Italian Bakery IMO), and I just tried the Canoli tonight at the bakers suggestion. OMG! Canoli was never my favorite until tonight! AWESOME! Tried some sesame cookies, too. Nice to dunk in coffee, and they were still fresh three days later! Mini éclair were tasty as well. It’s like going to a Brooklyn bakery 30 years ago when things were done old school. This place is a winner. If you’re in the mood for tasty pastry, go. You will be happy you did.
