I came here to grab a quick bite since I missed the café time at work and went with the special banh mi, vietnamese iced coffee and three macarons. It was a small, cute place. The banh mi was delicious so I can’t complain, it lacked the asian mayonnaise, but the fillings were generous. The iced coffee was a bit strong and not too balanced, but I liked it nonetheless. The macarons were good, not impressive but it was something I wanted to try. They even have egg rolls and other pastries available, but I’ll come back another day to check it out.

When I first started coming, it wasn’t busy. I came in today with the lunch rush, and was actually happy to see the line out the door. I’m all for the mom-and-pop businesses, and this one is even next to a Subway. While waiting for my food, I noticed how disorganized they are with the ordering system. They write your sandwich down on a running list, crossing them off as they are made. It’d be better if they invested in those little receipt pads with a tear-off part that gives you a number. A guy who ordered well before me was still waiting(while I sat eating) for 4 sandwiches and 6 egg rolls, and they got his sandwich order wrong. The owner comped him 2 meat pies for his trouble. So. Awesome. I have tried the grilled pork, chicken, and now the tofu. I don’t care much for paté they spread on the bread to be honest, so I skip that. The meat was quite lean and even marinated. I do love the chewy bread(I saw others order their sandwiches with croissants, and now I want to try that soon) and the flavors of the veggies. One thing to note with the meat sandwiches is, the fish sauce they use really becomes pungent. I couldn’t tolerate finishing leftovers because of it. I make my egg rolls with pork and shrimp, but I got one here to try. I found it generic. I think it’d make a nice snack to have with the taro smoothie. If the taro smoothie is as coconutty as their avocado one, it’ll taste very good.(One of my favorite combos at Frostbites is taro and coconut!) The owner has given me water without me asking, and checked up on me while I was eating. I’ll keep coming back for the excellent service and the awesome inexpensive sandwiches. The roll cakes look yummy here. Hopefully one day I will have room for dessert. Pros: — bakery in-house — excellent customer service — inexpensive for the quality — in a plaza with plenty of parking Cons: — lacks organization to handle lunch rush flow — super teeny location– tables are tv trays lol — zero ambience

The house special on a croissant is awesome! 6 egg rolls for 5 bucks. Can’t beat it for lunch. I come here at least once a week. Call in your order and they will have it ready for you when you get there.

Back again for affordable and tasty Vietnamese sandwich! The place is small but everybody is super friendly and the service is quick. I don’t like pâté so I always ask them to exclude it on my banh mi. Otherwise everything is fresh and tasty. Don’t forget to try their fresh meat pies. It’s pretty delicious with flakey pastry. I also enjoy their drinks with boba/tapioca. Their green smoothie was so good and what’s more healthy.

Really tasty food. I learned about Bahn Mi from mY Asian friends and this one is pretty close to the real thing. Staff is very friendly and you feel like they want your sandwich to be right. Food is pretty fresh and tastes that way… love the toasted rice baguette. I had their signature sandwich and it was TASTY. Cost is very fair for the product. Also one of the best peanut sauces I have had locally… spring rolls were great.

Small venue that looks like it used to be an ice cream shop. Interior is white tile with food behind what looks like it was once an open freezer for ice cream tubs. Seating is minimal and gives a vibe that most patrons are getting food to-go. The menu is small with a limited variety of banh mi. I ordered the house special, which had a mix of meats. The flavors were solid and the bread, though it seemed to be made freshly in-house, didn’t do it for me. Lack of variety like pâtés was disappointing. We also ordered some shrimp spring rolls. These were also in the 3-star range contrasting heavily with the 5-star spring rolls across the street at Phở Kitchen. Overall, I haven’t found another banh mi place in Oceanside yet, but I think I like Banh Mi San Marcos a bit more just based on the quality of food. I would still come back here, though, and hopefully have a better experience.

Awesome fresh, Vietnamese sandwiches! We were told that they make their own bread, and you can choose to have a baguette or croissant sandwich(I would personally recommend their baguettes more). You can also get boba, smoothies, and have quite a selecting of desserts. The service is great, and they accommodated changes we wanted in it food(especially for the kids). It is also very affordable. This place is a bit cosy but they accommodated our party of 7 +1 baby. It is also a conveniently located on the busy/big intersection of Oceanside Boulevard and college.

Small shop. I do like their fresh baked bread, wasn’t to much a fan of the liver paste they put in the sandwhich but I asked for how they normally make it. Its like a Viet subway, you can order it the way it comes or pick and choose the toppings. Gets busy in here during the lunch hour bec 8 to 9 ppl came in and they can only seat like 8 ppl. The workers are very nice and greet when you in. Did like the Viet coffee and they have the option of regular or extra strong(as if it needed anymore caffeine in it.)

This place isn’t your average Banh Mi shop… These guys make their own bread throughout the day and take great pride in their food. Their rapport with their guests is awesome and they really want to see you happy with your lunch/dinner. I could honestly say that the service I received her was the best out of any Banh Mi shop I’ve ever been to; and I’ve been to dozens. I would definitely return as a good Banh Mi is hard to come by in North County.

Currently writing this review during my lunch break while eating my banh mi here. 5⁄5SERVICE!!! This place has 2 workers but the service is on point! The guy who took my order was very happy and made me feel really welcomed. I ordered the grilled pork because I always get grilled pork in any banh mi places. It came to a total of $ 3.25 for a big sandwich! They brought my food out in a cute tray and even the water is well-served! It was a big cup w a straw in it. I know this seems ridiculous but it really made me feel appreciated being a customer because they took care of my food. A lot of other places go fast because they don’t want people to wait but this place puts service to customers first. Really great cheap banh mi place if you are in the area!

This place is worth a visit if you are in the area. The staff are very friendly and the sandwiches are delicious. The secret to a good sandwich is the bread, and at Banh Mi they make their own so you know it’s hot and fresh. It is surprising that management would choose a location almost next door to another sandwich shop, but I think that they will do okay. Banh Mi is completely different than the shop next door with regards to the style of food. And as this section of Oceanside is building up with additional biotech expansions and more tradition business, like the new FedEx building, there will be plenty of hungry folks looking for a place to eat that is close by. Their menu selection included various sandwiches, meat pies, teas, and even pastries — all for a great price. I will be back to try out more of their sandwiches as I’ve only had the House Special so far — which is a great choice in case you’re wondering.

Best drinks ever! The Vietnamese iced coffee is perfect strong and thick. And the green tea latte is the best drink in history. Thai tea, fresh made to order. Yum! Nothing is too sweet just perfect. The sandwiches, are just delish. Tried the BBQ pork one and the sizzling beef. Bread is fresh and good. Haven’t tried to the bakery part yet but definitely coming back for it.

Excited to have a new Banh mi spot near work. I’m Vietnamese so I’m definitely picky about my Viet food. Lunch here is is cheaper than most(subway) for sure. Ordered the grilled pork sandwich with no pâté and extra jalapeños and got charged an extra 0.32 cents which was disappointing :($ 1.00 for an egg roll is also too much in my opinion. Food was fine, would probably come back in a bind. Don’t forget the punch card. Your 10th sandwich is free!

The five star rating is based on their customer service and amazing food! My nail lady recommended this place to me because of my love for Vietnamese food! We were greeted as soon as we walked in by all three employees that were working. A hello right when you walk in always makes a difference in the energy-and their friendliness was spot on! There’s no way to describe how nice they were, you’re just going to have to go in yourself and experience it I am literally smiling as I type because… I just can’t. Ha. I got the Combo special for $ 4.50. The sandwich had a variety of meats and fresh veggies that just complemented each other. I wish I had eaten the bahn mi as soon as I got it to experience the fresher taste but I ate it about a hour later and the bread hardened a bit. It didn’t effect the taste of the sandwich but altered the consistency of the bite. Regardless it was a hit!!! I’ve been craving it ever since. We also ordered 5 fried egg rolls at a buck a piece, and they were so tasty. Next time I’m going for the bahn mi chicken and some macaroons. They also have a drink menu with boba that I didn’t get a chance to order from either. I’ll definitely be back!

I’ve had the Sizzling Beef Banh Mi and the House Special Banh Mi, which has Vietnamese ham, pork roll, grilled pork and char siu, which is a type of thinly sliced beef brisket. They all come with pickled veggies, jalapeño, cilantro, mayo, cucumber and pâté on a French baguette. They were both good, but I didn’t care for the texture of the pork roll, which reminded me of beige colored bologna. I thought they were both a little dry, so I would ask for extra mayo next time. It’s a great deal though. The sandwiches are tasty, huge and inexpensive — they vary in price between $ 3.95-$ 4.95. For dessert I had a mini crème brûlée cheesecake that was literally two-bites. It was good for a portioned-control treat. My kids LOVED the bark that looked like a rice crispy treat, but isn’t. It had chocolate chips, marshmallows, crunchy pieces and some kind of peanut butter binder to hold it all together. The service here is so friendly! Both times I’ve been here I’ve been warmly welcomed and taken care of excellently.

I stumbled upon this place on my way to get my typical 6 inch Subway sandwich. Boy was this a pleasant surprise. First, the service here is really friendly. The House Special instantly caught my eye; when the woman(who I presume was one of the owners) stated that«it was really good», I knew I had a winner. My next stop was to Starbucks, but when I noticed they had Vietnamese iced coffee. I had to have it. The Vietnamese iced coffee was good but very strong — just the way I like it. I also really enjoyed my sandwich. It had lots of flavor. Give them a try folks. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as well.

It’s great to have a new banh mi place up in north county! Even better is that their food, prices, selections and service were gooood! If you haven’t had banh mi before, it’s a sandwich roll with French baguette, your choice of marinated meat and/or cold cuts, pickle carrots and daikon, cilantro, cucumber, pâte, jalapeño, butter and lots of flavor and deliciousness. Their sandwiches were pretty stubby and big which can definitely fill you up. I tried the house special #1 which was a good way to try out all the ingredients, including the tender and juicy marinated pork! Don’t just try out their banh mi, go for the desserts, meat pies, egg rolls and Vietnamese coffee too! The coffee was rich and strong, way better than Starbucks coffee. I was quite impressed with their choice of desserts including the hard-to-find pandan cake and macarons of a variety of flavors(about 9), so I got one of each flavor! The cookie of the macarons was spot on — crunchy yet moist with the right amount of sweetness, and I liked how they had some uncommon flavors like black sesame. However, I’m not a fan of the jam filling primarily used here and always prefer the buttercream filling, although this is really based on preference. Service was very good! The owner/baker Yung(sp?) was very friendly and she was happy to answer our questions. With the punch card that we received plus the amazing sandwiches and desserts, we’ll definitely be back soon! No tables inside but nice picnic tables and benches outside to your left!

Family owned, local Vietnamese shop that just opened up today. This place offers coffee, tea(hot), iced coffee, green tea, smoothies, sandwiches, egg rolls, pastries and other treats. I had the Sizzling Beef Banh Mi sandwich, an egg roll, and two green tea macaroons. All were delicious. I was hesitant on some of the things that are added to the sandwich, however I was being open minded to the whole«Vietnamese style sandwich» experience and gave it a try. I was surprised to find it had a spicy/sweet taste which I love. Once I was on the road, and finished my sandwich I was craving another one, it was that good. All sandwiches are served on a house baguette with house special mayo, pâté, cucumber, pickle carrots, daikon, jalapeño and cilantro. Prices are affordable. I’ll definately be back again.
