Mattucci Winery

This is a great place for wine tasting. The ambience is warm and friendly. The wine is delicious. We stumbled upon it by following the small signs along the roadway and we so pleasantly surprised. They have a great selection of limoncello and orange-​cello.

Are you kidding me! Fantastic red wines from Oceanside? This secluded winery in an industrial park is a must go to for any wine lover. Great atmosphere and friendly knowledgeable people.

Lea was amazing! She went above and beyond to help me get my son a birthday present he would love!

I became a wine club member after first sip. Paul and Stephanie are great. The take the time to get to know you. The members are fun and welcoming. If you are a red drinker, this is your place to go.

All tastings exceeded expectations, the staff and company was wonderful. Would come back here again!

Stephanie & Chris were the hostess with the mostest! We had a wonderful and classy bachelorette wine tasting. A private table. Next to the wine barrels. The pictures were all framers! And Chris was so knowledgeable about the variatles & pretty darn cute! The bridal party was not complaining! XO

Good Wines. I agree that the primativo is really good. Bit disappointed with the Groupon deal. Bought groupon voucher for two tastings for $ 19. Got to Matucci and found out that 2 tastings would have cost us $ 20 so didn’t see the $ 35 value promised by groupon. In summary good winery but don’t bother with the groupon.

We’re new members and we’re loving the wines! Great atmosphere and friendly people. So glad we joined and looking forward to many more bottles of amazing wine.

We love Paul and Stephanie. They produce great wines, in a very friendly atmosphere, without any pretentiousness. There’s always smiling faces in the tasting room and being a club member doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg. They have fun little pick up parties for their members and they are almost always around to great you. I belong to a few local urban wineries and I have to say — I love this one the most. Keep it up!

Came in with some friends after work for some wine tasting. Our friends that enjoy red wine loved it since this is all they have, for those of us only wanting white wine, we were a little bummed because the strong oaky red is just not our thing. But it’s a cute little ‘winery’ in the middle of a concrete jungle… in Oceanside! and they allow you to bring in your own food since they don’t offer any.

Incredible wines at an incredible price. This winery is as artesian as it gets! Paul and Stephanie are by the far the greatest people to have in our lives, they are extremely humble and that shows in their ability to create stunning fermented grapes! Not only do they make you feel like family, but they make sure you never have a worry when you are doing a tasting or picking a wine, truly on the 5 star rating, they deserve 10 stars and an applause for being great people! I recommend to stop by and sample away because time flies when you are with them! Keep on keeping on guys you are ruling it!

Paul and Stephanie, along with their friendly staff, are excellent hosts. They run a warm and friendly wine tasting room, and are always up for great conversation. We joined their wine club on our first visit, and we’ve never been disappointed. It’s a true gem in our neighborhood. Who needs a trip to Temecula when Mattucci is right in your own backyard?

Stephanie and Paul were the most accommodating and generous hosts. I loved being able to experience the passion that they have for their craft. They explained their whole process and story, which was so personal, I felt like I was having wine at a friend’s house, not just simply wine tasting. Oh! And not to mention the initial reason why we were there: the wine. They only have a selection of reds that varies depending on what they are making at the moment, but they were all great. I particularly like the blends that they had and their Grenache was spectacular. I will be back again.

Wow. The wines here are GOOD. We had to join. Its in an industrial biz park off oside blvd but once youre inside you forget about that. Most of their grapes are sourced from the central coast (paso robles) and they have some nice syrahs… You do the tastings in a barrel room… I highly recommend this one.

This is the best winery/​wine tasting I have ever experienced. I have been to probably 100 wineries including those in Paso Robles, Sonoma and Napa and this is as good as it gets.
Every single wine I have tasted here is excellent. They are so good my favorite changes on a regular basis as they battle back and forth for oenophilic supremacy.
But even if the wines weren’t stellar, I’d still come here because of the experience. Paul (the mad genius behind the wines) and his wife Stephanie are hosts nonpareil. No cookie cutter one ounce pours while spouting canned tasting notes here. They, and all the rest of the crew show enthusiasm for their wines and interest in each guest.
As noted elsewhere, the outside contrasts with the interior but that is because in addition to a tasting room, this is a working winery. All the wine is made and stored onsite. This lends a real feel of authenticity to the experience.
I’m a member of the wine club and look forward to pick up day later this month.

Paul was absolutely amazing! And even more so his wines! This place catches you by surprise. When we 1^st arrived we thought the GPS messed up! And from the looks outside of this place it didn’t seem right? We actually had just come from witch creek another wine tasting place in Oceanside which we thought was good. But after Mattucci’s wine tasting… Not even a candle could be held comparing the two! Hands down Mattucci’s wine is absolutely the best wine I’ve had! Our in-​laws were with us and they have developed quite the palette over 50+ years and they said it was the best! We all joined the quarterly club where you get 3 bottle wines shipped to you 4x’s a year for $ 55 + tax
That’s about $ 20/​wine this is an amazing bargain for great tasting wine!

The Mattucci Winery is located in an unassuming area in Oceanside; an industrial park, to be precise. That tidbit initially challenged my conceptions about wine process, but as soon as I walked in through their doors my ambivalence was immediately tempered.
Meeting friends for a tasting, we were led into the back warehouse where we found chairs and tables set up. Surrounding the tables were walls graced with scores of barrels filled with varieties of red goodness. The setting is quite lovely, a perfect ambiance to sip vino and close out the afternoon. The tasting included Mattuci’s version of a Grenache, a Primitivo (a Zinfandel), Conjugal Union (a lovely blend), and Amarone. The Amarone was surprisingly good. I expected it to be dry, but it had a unique personality where the sugars came forward in an unexpected fashion.
The wine I gravitated to, without a doubt, was the Primitivo. We walked out with several bottles of it. And the bottling? Gorgeous. The bottles are so pretty that you would undoubtedly feel shame by discarding them after use. They’re slender on the bottom and more broad on top. Quite elegant.
More than the wine, though, was the hospitality that the proprietors gave us during our visit. They take great pride in their wine and craft, and that becomes evident when you just sit back and listen to them chat about the grapes and their overall approach and process.
I believe they have a wine club. For a reasonable fee, you are provided with several bottles every couple of months or so. I don’t remember the particulars, but it would be something to consider if you really can’t do without their wine. I’ll certainly be remembering Mattucci when I find myself in North County and have a need to stock up.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. Stephanie and Paul were wonderful hosts! We had a table in the barrel room with friends and Stephanie kept checking on us and leaving bottles for us to try.
Paul visited us several times to share his different bottles. Each bottle that he brought had a unique story that it was so interesting and made the experience even more special. They have a great little spread of bread, cheese, pasta salad and crackers for you to snack on while you’re tasting wine.

So passionate about their craft that it makes you appreciate their product even more. We picked up a bottle of their limoncello. We haven’t tried it yet but our friends have had it and said it’s wonderful. Paul told us a wonderful story about how the recipe came about. I encourage you to ask him when you stop in.
All in all if you like and most importantly appreciate the craft of wine. You should stop in!

What a hidden treasure!
I came here using a Groupon with some friends & it was such a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The owners are very warm & friendly, explaining so much about each wine. It’s apparent they have such love & passion for what they do.
And the wine… each one was better than the last & ALL delightful. We each left with a new Wine Club Membership — which is very reasonable priced. I’m looking forward to returning to this local business with all my friends.
