l LOVE the Captin’s Grounds coffee cart. I seriously stop by here almost everyday on my morning walks for an Americano with cream. It’s awesome to connect with Jen and the girls working. It makes me happy and gives me such a sense of community to see familiar faces that know my name!

I don’t know why I was so hesitant to try this place but after 15 minutes of hunting on Unilocal I decided to just try it. I’m so glad I did! The vibes of this little place are so great all around. Jen was so nice from the start, I told her it was my first time there & she let me know I can ask any questions. You can tell she really cares about her customers because she was making genuine conversation and being really nice! I’ve only had one drink here but so far it’s

I was excited to find this coffee cart while waiting for a table at Beach Break Café. The service was friendly otherwise I would be giving them one star. The workers were very slow and the lady in particular did not seem to know what she was doing and how to make the drinks. Finally when all was said and done, my «dirty chai» had no chai powder, so it was basically an iced latte. Pretty disappointing and I doubt I will go again.

I walked to this super super quaint coffee cart while waiting to be seated at Beach Break Café. One of the best iced Americanos I’ve had to date. Streets ahead Starbucks and even other small coffee shops. Great customer service and friendly employees.

5 stars all around for a coffee place that made me question at least 39 times «are you sure this is a soyyyyyyy chai tea?» It sure was! My sister and I walked from her house down the road looking for a coffee joint, we first shopped at Captains Helm then ordered our chai tea lattes iced. I always watch the baristas intently whenever I can to ensure I’m not getting any dairy.
The barista made our drinks to perfection. They were rich and creamy, actually super filling and very sweet. LOVE this place! Highly recommend it to anyone in Oceanside looking for a great pick-​me-​up

I have tried so many coffees in so many different places and can honestly say that nothing compares to the coffee that Jen makes here. If you ask her she will tell you the story of how her coffee cart business came to be. She is an amazing barista and shop owner. She is beyond sweet and friendly. No matter what I’ve tried they have all been delicious. She knows just how I like my favorite drink but I will definitely be trying out others. Killer place with amazing service and product.

Upon discovering my favorite local coffee joint (Kona Hut) closed at 12pm on a weekend, my sister and I entrusted Unilocal to find us an alternative within walking distance from my house.
I had passed Captain’s Grounds several times while browsing the racks at Captain’s Helm but had never stopped for coffee. Luckily, they were open and ready to serve whatever delicious caffeinated drink our little hearts desired.
We both chose iced soy chai lattes, which ended up being the most delicious versions we’d ever tasted. What made them special was that our barista mixed the ingredients and added ice as any other place would do, but then she shook them in a drink shaker until they were creamy and frothy. Seriously, the. Best. Ever.
Try Captain’s Grounds for yourself. It’s a win-​win, you’ll be supporting a small business and you’ll never crave Starbucks again!
