Bubbles & Bows Mobile Dog Grooming

Mavis is a lovely person and does superior mobile grooming in her pristine cute van. Where other groomers are in a hurry to make a buck, Mavis takes pride in her work and takes her time to get every little detail right. She’s an excellent groomer who will add your dog to her calendar every month so your dog looks marvelous all the time. I love how I never have to make trips to the shop and wait all day for them to be done. Mavis offers an excellent service I appreciate and you will to.

I just had my big dog groomed by Mavis. She pulled up in this van that is completely self contained, and quickly went to grooming my beautiful great prynees. Normally she doesn’t do large dogs, but I offered to help with any of the lifting. I had no idea what what she would do, I had to trust her, but she did a precision cut all around her body. I was very happy with the result, and happy that my dog was treated well. Thanks Mavis!

Mavis is a very nice person. Something is very wrong; however, with the way she grooms. I am currently in a leg cast and cannot drive, so we needed a mobile groomer for our two Miniature Schnauzers. Unfortunately, I did believe most of the reviews here and now am sad that I chose her to do this.
First of all, she was not helpful in getting the dogs to the van… I told her several times before booking that I was in a non-​weightbearing leg cast and needed help. She was not helpful at all… it was a huge struggle for me.
Secondly, I gave her a picture of how we like our dogs to be groomed and she went to work on the first dog. When our first one was done, he looked HORRIBLE. I was shocked. We had yet another conversation on how our dogs should look, and she took our second dog. Ten minutes later she brought him back and said she could not work on him. She said he was difficult and tried to bite her… he NEVER has bit anyone.
The whole time she complained about them being «greasy» and dirty and in need of a groom… hello! That is why we needed a groomer! She complained about normal little things that most groomers deal with because that is why they need grooming! Our dogs were no worse than they normally are 8 weeks after a groom.
So…now I have 1 dog that is groomed very badly and 1 dog that needs grooming. The dog that she gave up on is the alpha, so what happened? He started attacking my other dog really badly… they are brothers, but this was completely different and mean. So here I am, stuck at home not able to drive with one dog attacking the other. Thankfully my neighbors and extended family are so AWESOME that they were able to help me get him to our normal groomer (Classy K-​9 Clips) that afternoon and get him taken care of.
I agree with Unhappy C. Mavis must be the old school type of groomer who is not kind and nice to the animals… Dogs KNOW when a human is not nice and they do react… as they should. Perhaps it is time for Mavis to retire.

I have had my dog to several groomers and her hair cuts were mediocre. Sometimes she would have Knicks and cuts from the groomers. Then I found Bubbles and Bows… what a great experience. Mavis is wonderful with the dogs, my puppy loves her, and she gets the best hair cut ever.

Mavis has just groomed my Schnauzer and Brussels Griffon fur balls. Both were greatly in need of a patient and professional heroine. They now look beautiful and feel so much better. Mavis, owner of Bubbles and Bows Mobile Grooming is talented and sensitive to the needs of the pets and the preferences of their guardians. If she was a Hair stylist I would be her first client !!! Mavis is a lovely lady who takes pride in her artistry and radiates warmth and integrity.

Mavis has groomed my three dogs with accurate precision for over 2 yrs & has a gentle hand every time– she is also the most adorable, hard working & gracious woman you will ever know! I saw the van in my complex parking lot today and decided to go up to it to ask for a price brochure to book an appointment. Needless to say I DID NOT EVEN ASK FOR A PRICING BROCHURE because when I walked up to the window and attempted to get the lady’s attention by saying ma’am I watched her repeatedly tell the dog she was grooming to stop it (which is fine) but then also repeatedly slap the dog on the face every time it flinched or moved its head while saying «stop it», it was not just one time or two times it was in a mean demeanor and continuously. I instantly stopped trying to get her attention and walked away. I would not want my dogs treated like this for minor behavior which is normal when they are getting trimmed or bathed.
If I could I would give them 0 stars

It’s been two years since I wrote my last review of Bubbles & Bows and I have not changed my mind. I am convinced that Mavis is the best dog groomer in the San Diego area. I know for a fact that her van is the cleanest. Sometimes, while she’s grooming, dogs will have accidents. Mavis takes it in her stride. She chloroxes everything, and then begins again I know
this because my dog had an accident when
she was a puppy. Actually it happened on
more than one occasion, yet Mavis was still smiling when she handed Noodles over to me. Come to think of it, Mavis is always smiling. Another good thing about Mavis is that she bends over backwards to please everyone. She will tweak my dog here and
there until I am a happy camper, and I’m
sure she does the same for everyone.
Usually my dog’s already perfect, but Mavis always asks if I see anything that needs fixing. The bottom line is I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend that Bo and Sunny, who live in the White House, be groomed by Mavis.

I had my first mobile grooming experience with Mavis and she is amazing! She is a fabulous dog groomer and a wonderful person. You will be very, happy with her services! Call her she is wort it and so is your dog.

When it comes to groomers, just like hairstylists, or any other service provider, doctor, dentist, whatever, it takes years to find one that you feel you can trust, who understands what you’re looking for and who actually delivers. As an NJ to CA transplant, it’s been a journey building out a new network of go-​to providers/​businesses (in the last year i’ve seen my NJ hairstylist 3x, if that’s any indication!). That said, Mavis and her Bubbles & Bows Mobile Grooming is a breath of fresh air :)
She listened to how I wanted my 10 yr old Peke, Dino, and 6 yr old Shih Tzu, Oliver, groomed and was spot-​on with the result. My boys look sharp and smell amazing! Mavis was sweet and super gentle with my pups, bathing and grooming them with precision. I’m glad I didn’t let the one not so great review deter me, because I’ve finally found a groomer who is more than that really — it’s pretty obvious Mavis loves dogs and takes her craft seriously. Bubbles & Bows offers great service right at your doorstep that i’ll definitely recommend to others :)

Mavis is an AMAZING groomer — and curbside to boot (YAY no doggie kennels & hauling Lulu around town!). Prices are incredibly reasonable & mobile grooming salon is SO clean — simply amazing! Thank you, Mavis!
