Dippity-Dog Self Serve Pet Wash

Love this place and they are really good sports about grooming my cranky 120lb shepherd ! Love the service and they make my dog smell so good !!

Like most dogs, mine hates bath time! Unfortunately, he has skin issues that require me to give him 2 – 3 baths each week… which has been a nightmare! Someone at the dog park recommended I try bringing him here to make the process a little easier. I AM SO GLAD I DID!
As soon as we walked in this morning, the staff was so helpful! They walked me through every detail and shampoo/​conditioner option and helped me get him up into the tub (he did NOT want to go up that ladder!) She checked on us every so often to see if I needed anything else. I will definitely be returning!

WTF?! Okay it takes really bad customer service to get a one star rating from Big Sid, so you can already imagine how this is gonna go.
After checking out so many of the reviews on this place I was very excited to bring the dog here. I was very disappointed at the lack of friendliness from the front desk, the lack of cleanliness to the store & wash areas, and very disappointed at the lack of options on shampoos, conditioners, etc.
Please «let me explain», Saturday early afternoon walked in with my small dog for a nice bath, and as soon as we walked in, Big Sid «the Great One», almost had an asthma attack from the lack of cleanliness. Big Sid saw fur EVERYWHERE!!!
Perhaps Big Sid was expecting to much. Maybe being clean similar to a veterinarian office? No. Windows, sprinkler system, pipes, floor, counter top, and chairs! «C’mon Man» really?
Walked to the front counter with two people standing there, one female on the phone (holding), the other male standing there. He says, «Hi, right this way.» This guy didn’t ask, Have you been here before?, How may I help you?, Do you know how this works?, or ANYTHING. Wow…
So we start washing the dog, in a tub with clogged drain, and watered down shampoo. Is this really happening? We kept looking around for help, asking different shampoos, conditioners, a different rub even, and No one behind the counter even acted like the gave a SHIT!!! This was unreal.
It literally was an eye opener to how a business SHOULD NOT be ran. As a business owner, if I saw any of my employees doing this, they would ALL be fired. «Until Next Time America», this is Big Sid out.

Wonderful service. Super friendly staff! They treated my dog like they would their own.

REVIEW ON SELF SERVICE DOG WASH ONLY:
We had a great experience here. My sister took my mom’s dog and I took my dog here on Christmas eve. The front desk girl was great. She was very helpful and informative. My sister has relatively no experience washing dogs and the girl showed her what to do. I even learned some tips!
They have complimentary shampoo, a spray leave in conditioner and perfume for your dog. They also have towls, brushes, a a blow dryer at your disposal.
For an extra fee you can get special conditioners that specialize in either flea, de-​shedding, etc. I chose the extra desheder conditioner for 3 dollars I think. Totally worth it! My sister chose the basic option but has a vizsla mix so shedding isn’t an issue. She was happy with the basic option (14 or 15 bucks total)

I took a foster dog in for a bath. I did not have alot of information on the dog and the staff was very willing to accommodate my requests. They kept me updated on how the doggie was doing and worked around my schedule for pick up time.

I dropped off our Shitzu at 11:30 (his appt time). Groomer agreed to take off half of his fur, so he’d remain with his fur several inches long. I arrived 5 hours later to find our dog getting shaved with clippers. His fur was practically bald. I asked her to stop and please use scissors because she was about to use clippers on his face. I also asked why he was so short. Groomer’s response was that she’s a new groomer, doesn’t know how to use scissors and had too many dogs. I wish she would’ve told me this when I dropped him off. I would’ve never left him.

I wish I could do more than 5 stars! Ever since I first called to make an appointment, they were very helpful. I just picked up my dog and let me just say I am so happy on the way they left my Yorkie. They are fairly priced for full grooming! I will recommend Dippity Dog to all my friends and family!

I’m new in town and all the ladies here were amazing with my 10 year old pup, Ringo. They were gentle with him and for his first visit took good (quick) care of him. They even helped me with a referral for a vet and where to get him his flea medicine (Dexter’s Deli). Thank you so much for making our Sunday!

In order to groom my 4 year old Malti-​poo you need ton’s of experience, a big heart, and nerves of steel. CC has all three in spades and she and her team did a fabulous job today. We’ll be back, and job well done!

I have on a Lhasa apso and a Shitzu for the last 10 years or so and if you are familiar with these breeds you know that I have paid for a lot of grooming. In the early years I tried a few places out and they were OK but eventually we settled on Dippity Dog. Simply put this is the best grooming establishment I have ever had the honor of using. Cies The owner is not only one of the coolest people I’ve ever met but also runs her place hands-​on with true love and commitment. As we all know our pets are like children to us and it means the world to me to know that not only is she getting a great haircut and bath but also being treated with kindness and attention. Of all the times I’ve been here I’ve never had a bad experience and have even notice my pet looking forward to the visit. Do yourself and your best friend a favor and check these guys out!

I love this place!!! They know my dog by name and try to fit her in for an appointment even when I call in last minute. My dog has special needs when it comes to being groomed and they are very accommodating to those needs. I’ve never been disappointed with the services they give. And even when they can’t get her in for an appointment I’ll still bring her in for the self service dog wash because I love this place that much!!!

One positive note– nail trimming quick and easy for both me and my dog. But the rest of the self serve wash experience was rather lacking. One towel given per customer, no explaining of anything for new customers, one staircase for dogs to get in and out of tubs that is stored behind the front counter (had to ask for it when I was done because employees (3) were watching a you tube vid together in the back). And two dogs incessantly barking that were there for grooming and flea bath services. Stressful environment for my dog. Not what I’m used to from living more south in the City of San Diego. Going to search for a different spot to wash my dog… Or just at home. Just realized my dogs dew claw is now bleeding. Looks like they cut a little too close :(

Awesome! I found this place on Unilocal,called talk to the lady (wish I caught her name) about the options I had with my Australian shepherd. I just needed him bathed, and that self-​serve option was cool! $ 14 to wash your dog yourself, they provide everything! I will definitely be coming back here!

I honestly do not know how I haven’t reviewed Dippity Dog… Max and Abby know it by name, even after we were transferred away for three years! Well, we are back in Cali, and they are happy to see Cees. This place is the best, and so is the staff. I can’t get my beasts into our tub as it is, and they have the best ladder so the kids climb right into the tubs… okay, sometimes they need a little encouragement. The shampoo is ready, towels, and the blow dryers are the best! Plus, the kiddos see our nail clippers and run the other direction, so paying the extra and having the groomers clip the claws is SO worth it. And cage free boarding? Everything here is awesome, and we are so thankful that we did not have to worry about this ONE thing when we moved back to Oceanside. Thanks guys!

DAY CARE & SELF WASH:
The pricing here is very reasonable, however, it is a bit older and run down than other facilities in the area — the dogs probably don’t care and it is a sign loads of people use it! The staff was nice.
DAYCARE:
I would not take my dog to their day care again. The dogs are left alone unsupervised. There were four dogs, plus mine, in their yard. For me, that’s totally not okay, ever. Their temperament test is a whopping 5 minutes whereas other day-care’s in the area are 3 – 4 hours (most don’t charge for their temperament tests so that’s not correlated) For me and others who have babies and not dogs this isn’t up to my standard. However, if it were a dog to be stuck in a crate at home uncared for I’d say they were better off at dippity dog than being locked and alone at home. If you don’t hold your dog to this golden standard as me and other crazy people do, this day care will be okay.
SELF WASH:
The self wash is pretty straight forward. The staff is very helpful. Again it appears the facility is a little older, but that’s fine. The water temperature was perfect and you don’t have to sit there fiddling with it yourself. They wash down the tub before you use it and give you a towel, shampoo, a standard human hair brush, and you get to use the high powered blow dryer. The blow dryer worked better than any I’ve used at doggy self washes. What’s the best? You don’t have to clean up your mess. It was hard for me to leave a messy tub since I felt bad doing so. I got the chunks of hair out but it was dirty. It’s pretty nice after breaking your back bathing your dog you don’t have to somehow hold your dog and wash the area down, too.
Overall this place is okay. Again, I wouldn’t do the day care since I wouldn’t ever tolerate my dog being bullied or getting into a fight, but the self wash decent and the staff is nice.

They were incredibly kind and were able to take me on a Sunday (open 7 days/​week). Hoku is old and has old injuries, so it was important to me that they took their time with him. They even offered to take him as the last appointment of the day so that he didn’t have to be tied up for a long time. He was happy, clean and smelled oh-so-pretty…still does days later!
WILL CERTAINLY RETURN and RECOMMEND
TIP: Pick up your dog on time or get charged an overnight fee. We barely made it on time!

Wonderful place. I drove from Seattle and my dog stunk very bad. Cane here to wash him. $ 14 for unlimited usage of sink. Soap, towel and dryer included. Nice staff. Would return.

I love this place! They are always super friendly and attentive! They have the best shampoo and conditioner ever! Your dog will smell so amazing in a nice clean subtle way. I use to take my fur baby, a havachon, to petsmart but I’m so please I checked this place out :) they did such a good job grooming his hair I’m definitely coming back again and again!

Yayyyy! This place is PERFECT! I brought my maltipoo here this morning after calling and making an appointment yesterday. And I am IMPRESSED! Mary took her and walked me through the process and explained what shampoo and conditioner they were going to use and why and what kind of cut would be best. I didn’t mind that it took three hours cause it was Ladies first time and they told me how with puppies it takes longer to make her comfortable and to not ruin her experience. When I picked her up she smelled AWESOME! And had a cute bow. She was happy and looked like she had a great time. Everyone is very sweet and the place is cute. I will for sure recommend this place to all my puppy friends!:)
