Allure Makeup Academy prides itself on helping students become well-​rounded professional makeup artists. We believe that to do this all artists must have a basic knowledge of beauty makeup and hair design. Students also need to know how photographs will reflect their work. These are the essentials to becoming a successful working artist.

Our staff is here to provide lots of one on one attention and to help you excel as you learn. Over the years each of our staff has specialized in an area of the beauty industry.

Business Owner

Janet Pippins is a certified makeup artist that has worked with photographers, film producers, models, modeling agencies, designers, and brides throughout Southern California. Her new passion is teaching others what she has learned through out the years and how to succeed as a makeup artist.

This place is a joke!!! The instruction (or should I say lack of instruction) was horrible. We have not been able to start our spray tanning business because we have to go somewhere else to get properly trained! The owner Janet pippens was not receptive AT ALL when we asked for a refund and explained why and presented her with facts that we were not properly trained. She ignored our calls and emails. You would think that as a business owner she would want satisfied clients but apparently she doesn’t care. We were the first two people to go through their spray tanning training and hopefully the last– do NOT get trained there (well you don’t get trained there). Total waste of time and money!!! Completely unprofessional!!! Who runs a business like this???

My mom went to this school recently and she called me everyday after class telling me all the exciting things she was learning! She genuinely loved the school and she even got a job right out of school. I’m so happy for her and her accomplishment, she was a stay at home mom for 24 years and now after attending school here and getting her certification she is in the working world again and loving it. I’m so proud of her! Thank you Allure!

As a fashion and beauty photographer I find the makeup artist as an instrumental part of the creative process. The makeup will make or break a picture. With that said I only want to work with the best!
I’ve worked with Janet Pippins over 4 years on numerous shoots. I’ve also worked with her graduates from her San Diego makeup school, Allure Makeup Academy. When I need a markup artist I like to know that they had the proper training and education. When I find out they were trained by Janet I don’t hesitate on brining them onto the team. I’ve worked with plenty of makeup artists from her makeup school on multiple occasions from photo shoot to video productions.
When putting together the creative team for my photo or video shoots my priority always goes to makeup artists that graduated from the Allure Makeup Academy.
