Hotel Monte Carlo & Suites

The front door is filthy with yellow sticky dirt, dressers had white powder all over them, bathroom has a closet with broken handle and the bedroom closet has a missing door! The manager named April was very rude. Will never stay here again!

My husband and I just got home from spending a week in OC at the Monte. I was super excited to be staying here because the website photos and Expedia ratings were good. Needless to say, we were not happy. The whole hotel had a very bad smell to it. Specifically the elevator– which there was only 1– for the whole hotel. I know it’s on the beach but sand was built up everywhere in the elevator and halls. You would think they would keep on cleaning it each day in order to avoid the current mess they have going on. Second, we had a room with a fridge, sink and microwave but no utensils, napkins, nothing, normally when you have a kitchenette they provide minimum silver wear. Then the cable was supposed to be 99 channels but we only got 24. My husband called twice for someone to come check on it And no one ever came. They only provided two large towels and two washcloths. No hand towels or more large towels. The room could have also been much cleaner. I wore socks the whole time on my feet and when I left they were filthy. We will not be staying here again and I suggest if you like cleanliness and you want to be comfortable– don’t stay here. Lastly… The pool looks nothing like the photos. It’s on the roof but that’s it.

I was very happy with my trip. My sister and I decided to be spontaneous and drive to ocean city from NYC and we were in need of a room last minute. The cost was high, or higher than we wanted but if we had had more time it would’ve been worth it. Two pools; roof and indoor, kitchenette, nice bathroom, balcony, two beds, breakfast, and free parking. I was happy. The young Irish guy at the counter was extremely helpful and sweet. He even tried to give recommendations to other places that were cheaper to help me out. Super good time there and I’ve never been to a hotel right on the boardwalk so that was nice as well. :)

Stayed here this past weekend with a bachelor party. The everyday employees were great house keepers and girls at front desk however upon arrival I broke the door handle off because it was already broken my mistake by not pointing it out also used the bathroom and the toilet paper roll but not functional real cheap stuff… After leaving and checking my bank statement they charged me 160 dollars for these items not a happy camper because combined the worth of the two wouldn’t clear 20 bucks. I understand the party I was with was a handful but we honestly didn’t break anything and we got charged for it… I guess I should have seen it coming besides that the only downfall was its too far south down the strip… I would only stay here again because of the employees manager was a dick for charging that much for a broken toilet paper roll and door handle that was broken before arrival…

Firstly, I’d like to comment on the front desk staff. We were in town early, called to see if we could get an early check in and was told no, but to come in and get our parking pass. When we got to the lobby, the person we talked to said «absolutely no check-​in before 4pm», in his accent. The other person behind the counter, who was extremely nice and spoke fluent english, told us that there was no reason why we couldn’t check in early and let us get our room, mind you it was 2:30pm when we arrived.
Another run in with the front office staff, was about parking. We weren’t sure where the other lot was located, which was down the street, and asked for directions as the lot across the street was full. While asking for directions, he said we couldn’t leave our car in the garage– we weren’t trying to, we just needed him to tell us where to park, which I don’t believe he understood. We ended up finding out from another guest.
In the morning of checkout, I called to see if it was possible to get a late check-​out, which at this point, I already knew the answer. We were told absolutely not and we needed to be out by 11am at the latest, since the hotel was full. Totally understandable, however, the person on the phone, was completely yelling at me when I asked. I’m fairly confident it’s a question that gets asked often, and all he had to do was politely say, unfortunately we’re full tonight so we need everyone out on time.
As far as the room was concerned, the bed was amazing. The reason I gave it the review of «below average» was because upon arrival, our shower tub had 2″ of water in it with what looked like black specks of dirt. I’m assuming it was from cleaning (hoping that was the case), but still not what you want to come in to. Due to the nature of our experience with your staff checking-​in, we drained the tub ourselves, and went along with our day. We also opted out of the cleaning staff services.
The amenities of the hotel are great. The rooftop pool is nice, along with the convenience of the location to everything downtown OCMD has to offer.
I can tell you that we did win this stay from a charity event and will never actually pay money to return. Being treated less than politely on multiple occasions, coming in to a room that was less than perfect, and feeling less than safe due to the noises/​yelling of staff we heard throughout the nights aren’t what we look for when coming to Ocean City.
I think your hotel has extreme potential, and the hotel itself is great, however, it does need a major overhaul of staff or staff training.

This place has the most rudest staff and management that I have seen at a hotel!
I had a problem with my payment and security deposit for the reservation so I decided to call them. The man who picked up didn’t seem to be the least interested into what I had to say and even hung up on me. When I called back and asked to speak to the manager I was hung up on again and after that was told the manager wouldn’t be here until the next morning. I called the next day and after waiting 20 mins I finally was able to talk to the manager who literally said after I told him the situation «you should just go to a different hotel.»
I will never give these people my money and I advise you to do the same…

Not your typical five star Sheraton Hotel but staff is extremely nice and accomadating. Although I did not get a balcony, the king size room is pretty decent considering the price for memorial weekend. Can honestly say the room is spotless… very very clean. The location is ideal for the young party goers couple or young adults. Lots of entertainment in the area.

Only a place to sleep at. The room is decent, nothing special. The bathroom is 1990s and a little dark. Its one of those creepy hotels in the old movies with fuchsia pink lights at the front desk. Apparently coffee makers are only available in the suites? I didn’t know that was incentive… I booked a double bed suite and upon arrival, I was only allowed to check in at the double bed room. Do not book through the website even though it may seem $ 12 cheaper than hotel sites.
No maid service either, we stayed for this past Easter weekend and not once was our room cleaned. Apparently it was just one guy working.
If you really care about your stay, choose another place!!!

I did not even stay here and I feel compelled to give this place a bad review. I tried calling them to book a room (you know, like… give them my money and give their establishment some business) and the man I talked to was rude and condescending. I was trying to figure out where this «2 night minimum stay» came from. There is nowhere on their website or on any travel website that says you must stay a minimum of two nights. I almost booked a one night stay through
! Good thing I called first or else who knows what they may have done… charged my credit card an extra night or something? I saw a few bad reviews and I thought I’d take a chance, but it seems like they don’t even want you to stay there. Shady place… steer clear.

Well, let me first say that this was fine for what we needed it for… Sleeping. We stayed at the Suites. Just want to warn that the suites are VERY different from how they look in photos online… The windows were high, which made the rooms very dark. We also had a large group (8 of us) so I wish it would have been more open.
Our toilet was very (!!!) slow to drain, which led us to use the bathroom by the pool. which ended up being larger anyway.
The funniest part was when we wanted to put a CD into our DVD player and listen to music through the TV. While yes, a DVD player is included with the room, there was no cable or cord to hook up the DVD player to the TV! It was annoying but we all had a good laugh about it. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience at all, but I don’t think we will be staying here again.

No wifi as advertised. All excuses of why it is not working. Rude front desk. Nothing seems clean. Dirty overall like most hotels on the boardwalk. Breakfast is a joke– weak coffee, tiny muffins and 2 oz drinks. Spend your money elsewhere. Only good thing is location, parking and the rooftop pool.

Stayed in the middle of summer for $ 100 and without a reservation. Right off the boardwalk. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly.

I have been in many different hotels in OC and for most part I was always disappointed. We went to Monet Carlo for 4^th of July and they were very organized. Considering the busiest time of the year, they managed to take care of the booking and the crowd very well.
The rooms were very clean, AC was working, all the locks were working, sheets were clean, service was good, concierge was very welcoming and attentive.
We did not have even one issue with them (which is very common with OC hotels in summer).
If I were to improve a few things about this hotels,
1– Elevators (super slow)
2– Clean roof top pool. The water was very dirty
3– Ice Machine (they had none).
Aside from that our short term experience with them was great.
They also have a fridge and mini kitchen with sink in the rooms.

This hotel was OK for the most part… the rooftop pool was great and the staff is really nice. The hotel is in a great location but our toilet was filthy and I had blood stained sheets and I had to call them twice to come change them! If you room faces the road you can forget about sleep because you hear eveeything going on outside. They also charge you for ice here so if you need some get your own. Only one car gets parking for free but there is free street parking so it wasn’t too bad.

Side ocean view was hardly a view! Room was clean but no ice machines you had to purchase a bag from the from the front desk. Delivery trucks started at 6am directly outside of room, very noisy!!! Staff was friendly but not very helpful!!! Hallway smelled of dirty laundry!

Three stars for the great location, price (at least now during the off-season…not sure what they charge in the summer), friendly staff, free parking (again, in winter… not sure about summer) and size of the room. Bathroom is small and outdated and the treadmill doesn’t work. Indoor heated pool is still very cold and rooftop deck is closed during the winter. Free «breakfast» of prepackaged muffins is only available til 8 AM – even on the weekends! Room was «ocean view” – if you went out on the balcony and craned your neck. Our room was non-smoking…but the one smoker in our group was put off that she was told by staff that she couldn’t even smoke on our balcony – even if she shut the door all the way. Instead, she had to go down five floors to the lobby and stand outside by herself in the snow, which she was not happy about. All in all a satisfactory experience and would consider staying here again if the price was right.

I was very happy with this place. We stayed here the last weekend of march for only $ 60/​night. Our room had a mini fridge and microwavein it which was good for late night snacks. The room was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly.

very clean hotel, nice staff. nice pools, good location. Very accommodating as far as allowing us to use pool, bathroom prior to check in – can’t check in til 3pm.
A few quibbles.
1. Don’t say the rooms are efficiencies if all they have is a dorm fridge, small bar sink, and microwave. That was annoying.
2. Also, we paid for a parking pass for one day ahead – sunday when we checked in saturday – and found we did not need the pass. The pass was not valid until 11am. Prior to 11am, we asked to return the pass for a refund and were refused– and thus ripped off for $ 20. This policy is not conducive to positive feelings.

This hotel not bad at all… Has a microwave, and refrigerator. Went here around mid June for the weekend with the kids. The price was decent around $ 200 a night. Has a pool rooftop, in door pool, gym, (wasn’t that nice) customer service was good they were helpful. The hotel not oceanfront but it’s on 3^rd street right next to the boardwalk where everything is. I wouldn’t mind staying here again.
