I have been going to Dr. Roe for as long as she has had her office in Oakland, about 14 years. I am her UPS driver and did not have a chiropractor when we first met. I needed one but could not find one I liked or trusted. I had been in a car accident a year earlier where I had been rear-ended at a high rate of speed in my own car. I was having trouble looking left and flexibility in my neck in general along with shoulder pain from the seat belt at impact. I can’t imagine living without her care! Through the years she has seen me in pretty bad shape from work injuries to accidents at home and I have always come out 100%. Not just the adjustments, Dr. Roe is very knowledgeable about a variety of things such as how the body works, healthy eating, nutritional supplements, I have learned a lot. She has gotten me in quickly when I have had an emergency with no appointment. Earlier this year I found myself without insurance, she was kind enough to give me an affordable deal so I could continue to get treatments I needed. My job beats me up on a regular basis, with her help I’ll make it to retirement in great shape!

BUSINESSPRACTICES The following statements are true: i caught dr. roe billing my insurance for services that she did not render. when i called her about it, she said it was a «mistake» and would get back to me. it has been over a month and i have not heard from her. when i booked for my initial consultation i was told that the fee would be $ 31. when i got there they told me it was $ 40.(not a huge deal but indicative of the business tactics of the company) i was then told by dr. roe that i have to come twice a week«until she can figure out whats going on.» when i asked how much my insurance covers, her reply was«don’t worry, once it runs out we have payment plans» The following statements are opinion: This place is an insurance billing machine. It is set up to look like an MD’s office with lots of rooms and a spacious front lobby area with medications on the wall, giving it the appearance of legitimacy. don’t be fooled by appearances. CHIROPRACTICCARE Truth: on my first visit, she did one adjustment on my thoracic spine, a squeeze from behind with folded arms, and told me to come back a few days later, which i did b/c i like to give the benefit of the doubt. she spent about an hour taking my medical history and talking and about 1 minute adjusting. on my return visit, when she tried to adjust my neck, she was yanking it around with no release of any sublaxations. she did not adjust my pelvis or ribs or anywhere else. a failed attempt at my neck and one good push on my back. opinion: dr.roe was unable to perform adjustments on me above and beyond what you could do your friends by cracking their backs. she is very good at talking and sounding like she knows more than you by using medical terminology and telling you about your posture. she also has a very cold manner. there are enough chiropractors in berkeley to choose from, don’t waste your time or your money here. even if the adjustments were amazing, what about ethics? would you want someone who«mistakenly» erroneously bills for services to be your medical provider?

I have been to many chiropractors through the years, and Dr. Virginia Roe is right up there at the top in my book. She is very thorough, precise, stays current with the latest medical trends and offers tips to maintain spine health. I would recommend Impac Health and her care to anyone wanting the best in chiropractic help.
