History

Established in 1976.

Founded in 1976 in Granada Hills, and moved to Westlake Village in 1977. Established local newspaper weekly design column in 1977, then in 1980 began writing weekly design column in the LA TIMES. By 1979 Blakeman work was published in prestigous periodical, DESIGNERS WEST. The firm continued to be honored with awards and continued publication in newspapers, magazines and books. One of the longest established interior design firms in Ventura County.

My work is also my favorite thing to do – and I do it because I love it. Creating special places for people to live and work is a real privilege, and my client’s happiness brings me great happiness.

I’ve had the good fortune to win many awards, be published, and meet and work with lots of wonderful people.

I have degrees in Fine Arts from UCLA (BA) and California Institute of the Arts (MFA)
