I know my experience is very different from the other reviewers here and it’s likely because of my particular situation: I got here before 3pm on both visits and arranged for will-​call, and relabel them to send back out to Amazon.
I missed the UPS delivery (2) times and called for it to be at Will-​Call (missed the 7pm deadline), but I showed up the next day anyway. I was the only person there and the personnel greeted me, took my ticket, and checked in on the package. She was very helpful in making sure that all (19) packages on (2) different shipments were going to be delivered to their warehouse on Monday (today).
I came back on Monday around 2:30pm and was again the first person in, and luckily, got there before they put the packages away, so they brought them out and did their inventory while I looked over the packages. I spoke with the personnel, and she was very helpful in answering my questions on what the best way to relabel them. Other thing is that I had (2) labels for each package: (1) for Amazon, and (1) for UPS. She gave me clear sleeves to put each label in, so I started doing that, and after she got done with her inventory, she started to help me out in putting the labels on the packages. As people came in, she helped them, and then came back to help me finish up. A couple of the other workers helped with removing existing tracking labels and moved them to the conveyor belt to send back out as they got done being relabeled. I’m very grateful for the help that they provided because I expected to be there for 1 – 1.5 hours doing it on my own, but with their help, I was able to get everything done in about 30 minutes.
I know my experience is likely different from most reviewers here, but wanted to give them kudos for their help today.

UPS was supposed to deliver a package for me to a business address where a receptionist is at the front door. Tracking for this item informed me «recipient not there» at 7:30pm for first attempt delivery. Ahh. problem is SECURITY CAMERAS INSIDE STORE & STREET CAMERA CLEARLY SHOW UPS NEVER SHOWED UP ENTIRE DAY. Also, delivery location is only a few miles from UPS but package was on truck from 6:30am-9:30pm
& never came. Driver had recipients phone number also, who happened to be waiting all day for package. Terrible, I won’t use UPS ever again.

I purchased new boots as a Christmas gift for girlfriend, 20 days later they still have not left the Oakland yard. Now I have to go through the hassle of getting my credit card company to give me a refund. I wish I could give them negative stars.

Someone is very naughty at this shipping center. He is playing secret santa and stealing packages. My Nordstrom package got sent here and never arrived to me. Hope he has fun in my size 4.5 boots. Maybe UPS should be more selective with who they hire. When you are getting review after review that packages are going a missing don’t you think it’s time to see which of your workers is the naughty one?

I downloaded this app just to say you guys are THE worst. I had 2-​day shipping on the Monday before Xmas. It arrived in Oakland on the 23^rd… And was out for delivery on Xmas eve. Never came. Now… Today is Xmas and the delivery date has been changed to the 28^th. Seriously… You guys are terrible at what you do. Your service has been the drizzling shits every time I’ve had to deal with you, but now this is the icing on the Cake. Because you’re so shitty at your jobs, I don’t have my Xmas gift for my sister. I hate you people so much.

I can not find a package that arrived in Oakland on the 17^th and was supposed to delivered on the 18^th and now its 22^nd. UPS has no idea what has happened to the package after it arrived at the Oakland airport.
DOn’t use UPS — use the post office — they are doing a much better job with their priority mail system.

This UPS shipping center is horrible.
UPS has specific pick up and drop off times; they literally close to make changes for these times! They say it’s because of their Union… Not all of their employees are trained to do both jobs… Who has time for that?..
They do NOT take cash. You must pay with a card and they LOVE to nickle and dime you.
The FedEx Ship center across the street is 10 times better. The FedEx Shipping Center has the latest East Coast next day/​overnight cut-​off time in the Bay Area at 6:05pm. They accept cash, debit and credit cards.
The FedEx shipping center also accepts (and conducts business for) both FedEx Express and FedEx Ground shipments. FedEx Ground is the cheapest shipping method any FedEx company offers and is cheaper than any other shipping method; including the Post Office and UPS.

I do not conduct business with UPS whenever possible due to their horrible customer service. I cringe when I have to contact their 800 customer support number as well.

Never in my wildest dreams would I expect the Postal Service to deliver standard «no rush» packages 3 times faster than UPS 2^nd day air, but that is exactly what is happening these days. I have a half dozen 2^nd day air packages that are now over a week late because they are sitting in the UPS Oakland shipping center. I also have a scheduled pickup from two weeks ago that’s looking like UPS is going to completely ignore.
I really wish Amazon and others would add an «anything but UPS» option for shipping.
What is going on in this shipping center? From what I’ve read, they «weren’t expecting increased package volume in December.» It doesn’t take a rocket scientist…

If I could leave zero stars, I would. My husband and I have tried 3 times to have overnight delivery of seafood from Maine to Alameda. The Oakland UPS Center on Pardee Drive is the worst in the nation. One shipment took 5 days, another took 48 hours instead of the 24 promised and paid for but only because we were on the phone for 2 hours raising hell, and now the third order was to be here at 10:30 this morning and it’s now 3pm. When I called, they just blew me off and assure me it will be delivered. Yeah right! Before it rots would be nice. I will never order again from a company who uses UPS. This Oakland office sucks. Use Fedex.

I wish I could leave zero stars. My package never arrived. «Customer service» lied about getting in touch with me to track it. Nothing on the website was updated in five days. I finally gave up a week after the package was supposed to be delivered and instead of dealing with fake customer service at UPS, called the original shipper of the package and told them to cancel the order and let UPS sort it out.
I have received all my other shipments on time from other shipping companies this month, but EVERY shipment from UPS has been delayed or completely lost.
I will be as vigilant as I possibly can from now on to ensure that ANYONE other than UPS gets my shipping business.

Regarding my UPS experience I would give it a 1 star, but I am giving it a 5 star review simply because of one person Alison. My package was lost, I talked to supervisors and everyone was giving me the run around with wrong information. Then I met Alison and she was amazing. She listened to my problem, took my information and followed up with me for several days until I actually received my package. She called me multiple times to check in with me, gave me updates, and was extremely courteous and helpful. Alison saved Christmas this year and is amazing at her job. Totally satisfied even though my package was delayed by almost a week. She is that good! Thanks Alison!

Horrible customer service. Went there today during lunch to pick up a package that had to be reshipped because the original went «missing» and found over 25 people in line and the line not moving at all. The only time it moved is because people got fed up and left. One person in line said they’ve been there for close to 2 hours and haven’t made much progress with getting to the front of the line. UPS has definitely gone downhill over the last couple of years and it may be time for someone else to step up and do what UPS apparently can’t. If you have a few hours to waste, please go ahead and try to pick up your package from this place.

Will keep this short and sweet. I opted for a pickup in order to save time waiting at home! BIG mistake. Line 40 deep staffed by two employees with zero urgency!

UPS c.s. is nonexistant & still stinks. I’m a syndicated radio host, print columnist & spent hours recently trying to do a simply mail hold to protect agst thieves stealing packages again off our front porch. As occurred several times this year, was told an «Escalation Supe will be contacting you within an hour to resolve this.» Of course no one ever called back from UPS.
I even v-​mailed and emailed heads of our nearest corporate UPS office. No one returned. Whereas Fedex, Airborn make it easy/​quick to hold packages; UPS makes it tedious, a time waster and impossible. Telling everyone to use anyone but UPS (ABUPS). They’re the worst in our experience and have been for years.

Things got better for a bit, but now, UPS is sinking back into the abysmal customer service we have all come to know and hate. I have had one package that has not moved from San Pablo in two days, and just got a «rescheduled delivery» for tomorrow. Package #2 was also supposed to be delivered today between 10 – 2 and just got yet another «rescheduled delivery» text, stating that it will be delivered tomorrow instead (Screw the Two-​Day Air that I paid for and scheduled around!), never mind that it has been in Oakland since yesterday. I know it is the holiday shipping season and I try to take that into consideration. But of four expected packages, it appears that one may actually arrive on time (Nope. wrong… NONE of them came today), so I guess I will have to sit here all day tomorrow as well, hoping that it isn’t the jerk on our route, who will likely mark it «attempted delivery» without actually attempting to deliver. To add insult to injury, I paid $ 8 for a two hour delivery window for today, get a text stating that my packages will be delayed due to «adverse conditions». I have already asked one of the shipper’s to recall the package, as I have had enough.
Guess it is time to utilize some of the contacts at corporate who were very helpful in improving our service for awhile. And another tidbit of advice to this hub: If your employees would actually spend as much time working as they did posting selfies of themselves on the UPS Oakland Facebook page, perhaps more packages would have been delivered?

If I could give zero stars… Please avoid UPS at all costs. I had a package that I have been tracking for three days now, and each day it says the package is «Out for delivery». Then, between 6 and 7 pm, the status changes to «in transit» and tells me the next day the package will arrive. Yesterday it even said «We left the package in our facility. This may cause a delay. We will deliver as quickly as possible./Delivery will be rescheduled.» The short version of that? We forgot to do our job.

I leave a note on my apartment building door with my phone number on it. They won’t call. The dispatcher tells me UPS drivers are not allowed to have mobile phones. Either he’s lying or the drivers are breaking the rules because I see them driving around Oakland talking on cell phones. Total bullshit service. Wish they’d go broke.
The worst delivery service in America. When I order something, I find out who they use to deliver; and if it’s UPS I ask for FedEx or the postal service. If they won’t guarantee FedEx or the postal service, I cancel the order.

UPS is the Biggest piece of shit delivery service. Had Fidelity send a very timely document.. Paid for the 24 hour service. Supposed to be here on Friday. My entire schedule was changed around this. On the website the tracking information it said it was to be here by the end of the day on Friday. 8pm rolls around. No UPS. I call, they say that its on its way. We wait til 10pm. No sign.
Ofcourse they are closed on Saturday so I have to wait til Monday. Monday they say the package is lost. They tell me that I have to start an investigation. I HAVE TO START THE INVESTIGATION? WTF??? THEY HAVE TO START AN INVESTIGATION. I ASKED THEM TO LOOK IN THE TRUCK. TALK TO THE DRIVER. I am still dealing with the bullshit. On the phone with Fidelity. Asking them to use Fed Ex instead. Fuck UPS. Use Fed Ex. Fed Ex is awesome. UPS sucks.
