Trained in the latest research regarding spinal motion and wellness living, Dr. Glass’s and Dr. Velichko’s techniques are World Class.

Dr. Irina Velichko and Dr. Ben Glass are passionate about restoring and optimizing physical function of individuals from conception into late adulthood with regular chiropractic care. Dr. Irina is certified in Webster’s Technique, which was designed to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/​pelvic dysfunction which can manifest in dystocia (slow labor progression) during birth process.

Dr. Ben and Dr. Irina are a great chiropractic team. Not only are they skilled at adjustments, but it is their holistic approach that really shines. Ben almost has a PT like approach, with a lot of exercises given to help get to the root cause of the pain. I think one of the unique things I really liked about both of them was their very sincere empathy. They had both really taken the time to talk to me about not only my pain, but how I was feeling. They are constantly evolving their practice and technique, and are involved with the Oakland community. If you need chiro in your life, this is the place to go.

I can’t say enough good things about the Shift Chiropractic, Irina and Ben! The amount of care that Irina and Ben pour into each patient and their practice is truly remarkable. These guys give «labor of love» new meaning, and every patient is a beneficiary. In my experience, both Ben and Irina are always on it — super sweet, attentive, intuitive healers… knowledgeable, too!
While I love and benefit from my regular adjustments (I have scoliosis, so I see Irina every two weeks for maintenance and prevention), I must share a story of acute pain relief! After a week and a half or pretty bad constant pain and hobbling from an injury caused by I-don’t-know-what, I finally made it back to the Shift. I would have made it to her sooner if I wasn’t out of town. After that much pain, I was surprised to experience a major shift (how appropriate) after a very thorough session and a night of sleep. I was back to walking the next day and back to nearly pain free nights/​days within a day and a half.
When I say these two care about their patients, I mean it! Irina checked in with me a few times before and after to send me exercise resources and ask how I was doing. I also knew that if I needed to set up an «emergency» appointment, she would do her best to fit me in, as she has before.
No matter how I feel when I walk in, I always walk out feeling lighter and brighter, like I’ve just been cuddled, fed, counselled and cared for, when only part of that was really true :)
And I love the zero gravity reclining chair — what a great way to end a session!

I’ve been going to the shift for about 2 months and love it! They are very accommodating to schedule changes and last minute requests. Irina is gentle but effective and really looks for the clients input. She has given me several exercises to strengthen weak muscles at home. Overall great team!

The Shift Chiropractic Center is an evolution of well-​being. I like to equate it to explosion power vs. renewable power. The explosive power works for a while, and it has a jolting property to it; whereas renewable energy is longer lasting, better for the environment and overall, stands the test of time. I find that Dr. Irina and Dr. Ben are an integral part of a strong foundation for the future wellbeing of the entire spectrum of health, including the mental and physical aspects of healing.

I love LOVE LOVE this place! Dr Ben is the best chiropractor I’ve seen. He just doesn’t focus on your problem but your overall wellness. He asks really good qualifying questions and is super flexible with accommodating different schedules. He also donates a lot of his time working with different charitable organizations. Ever since I moved away from my FIRST chiropractor (my twin brother Dr. Dale at Back to Wellness, Sherman Oaks) years ago, I’ve been been on the hunt for the perfect Chiro doc! My hunt is over!
Dr. Ben is a great listener, not just to my words but seemingly also to my body and mind. Like many leading chiropractors, he understands finding the root cause to my issues are vastly greater than just working on the symptoms. His adjustments are confident and precise.

I’ve seen chiropractors occasionally in the past, but only for acute pain relief. This Shift is a different breed of chiropractic office.
Dr. Ben has addressed my pain, yes, but more importantly he addresses the root cause of the pain. He works with me on PT-​type exercises for home that strengthen my back, and stretches that keep me limber and relaxed. I don’t take pain pills or muscle relaxers to sleep anymore –and that is huge!
I’m not saying my back and neck are ‘cured’, but I know see a direct line between back health/​lack of pain and how I treat my back and neck –and this is all due to the educational component at The Shift.

Ben goes above and beyond to take care of his clients. I was in a car accident when I met Ben and I’m thankful to have had him to help me recover. He takes his work very seriously and it shows, for him it’s all about health and wellness of the body. He lives to heal people and you can see he’s not your average doctor. I can’t imagine the last time I was excited about visiting a chiropractor but I always look forward to my appointments at the Shift. A few months ago I was in a minor car accident and they’ve really helped guide me in getting back to 100%.
Beyond the amazing care Ben and Irena are true gems who are genuinely adding value to the Oakland community. Their kind, loving, thoughtful approach is what keeps me coming back. Ben came highly recommended from my last chiropractor, he is great with athletes and has helped me play through a tough season injury free. We have been working particularly on strengthening my lower back after I fractured a vertebrae one year ago.

Ben Glass is young, motivated, and more than a chiropractor. I think The Shift refers to what we all have to do, which is to take responsibility for our health, our community, but it’s hard to do that if you’re not feeling well. I don’t come to chiropractic because I ‘have a backache’. I come because every system in my body works more smoothly when I do– and if I don’t come, then little complaints compound and my long-​distance cycling and my standup paddle boarding race training find stumbles.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Ben Glass at Shift Chiropractic for about a month and a half now and recommend a visit if you would like improved posture, flexibility and mobility. For me since I work on my computer all day upper neck /​back movement has been a focus, and I’ve noticed a definite improvement in those areas.
Ben really cares about all aspects of your wellbeing. He doesn’t rush, he takes the time to talk with you and share practical ideas about how to keep improving things. I would say he’s a whole mind-​body-​spirituality-​lifestyle focused person who also happens to do excellent body adjustments and will help you get the shifts you’re looking for. The office environment is a mini-​oasis, nice plants and color schemes that make you instantly feel relaxed.

Dr. Ben is great! I met him at a student health fair at a local high school where he was teaching young people about how to care for their spines and strengthen the supporting muscles. I was intrigued by the methods he was using and decided to come in for an initial visit. I was unsure about the building as it wasn’t clearly marked as a chiropractic office but when I found Dr. Ben’s space, it was like walking into a different world. The space is calming and modern and employs the latest technology.
Both he and his partner Irena are compassionate and on point. I’ve visited many chiropractors and am extremely impressed by the level of service and care these two provide. Dr. Ben takes the time time to really understand what is going on with you and takes the time to really «listen» to your body when performing an adjustment. I always leave feeling refreshed and strengthened. I’ve recommended him to friends and my girlfriend. If you are looking for a chiropractor that gets it and is knowledgeable about holistic health and wellness, The Shift is the place.

Dr. Ben Glass and Irina are both amazing healers and chiropractors. Dr. Glass was focussed on understanding my needs in receiving care, and educated me on what Chiropractic is and how adjusting subluxations in my spine would improve my health.
He analyzed my spine using far infrared heat sensing technology and showed me areas of nerve interference. His adjustment was gentle and I felt like all the pressure and tension in my neck was relieved. I laid in the zero gravity chair for 10 minutes after my adjustment, feeling relaxed, clear and revitalized.
The shift office is clean and all staff were very nice and helpful. The place has a pleasant and peaceful energy. Chiropractic is amazing!!! I’m excited to keep receiving chiropractic care and noticing incredible results!

If you are curious about chiropractic, or looking for a great chiropractor conveniently located near Broadway and 880 in Oakland, I would like to heartily recommend Dr. Irina’s gentle healing hands at Shift Chiropractic!
I’ve been to several chiropractors over the years and I’ve learned just how much a good chiropractor can help my body to move freely and stay healthy. Since I began getting Dr. Irina’s adjustments, I’ve really never felt better. I can easily check my blindspot when changing lanes again! I can touch my toes again without pain! My tension headaches have greatly reduced. I’m falling asleep easier and sleeping through the night again. In general I feel a lot less stressed and have more energy. My appetite, digestion, and libido have all improved.
It’s inspiring to feel my health improving! I’m eating healthier and exercising without pain again. Thank you so much Dr. Irina!
Super close to the freeway, there’s even a very reasonable pay parking lot right next to their building. Getting in and out quickly and easily is important to me, and this helps a lot!
