Rules for Natural Hair (when applying heat)
*Work with a stylist who works with natural hair/​styles on a regular basis.
*Realize there’s always a risk of damage to natural hair when applying heat i.e. flat iron, blow drying, etc.
*Heat protectant is key.
Stephanie can do hair, but natural hair is not her specialty.
Stephanie washed, conditioned, blow-​dried, flat-​ironed, trimmed and coifed my natural hair into a sleek do. I left the salon comfortable with my new style, appreciative of her timeliness, and her overall professionalism.
Ten days after Stephanie flat ironed my natural hair, I washed my hair, to find to my dismay that portions of my hair had become severely damaged by heat. Leaving an area of my hair «perm straight.» I contacted Stephanie right away to inform her of the result, and was reminded that there was a possibility that could happen. She suggested that I try washing my hair several times, and suggested a product, to help in restoring my hair back to its natural curl pattern.
Now, eight weeks since Stephanie has flat ironed my hair there has been little change to the damaged sections of my hair. After visiting my regular stylist and researching online, I was informed that my hair was damaged by excessive heat, which will result eventually in having to cut my hair, excessive washing nor product would be able to correct what occurred.
As a woman, who has come to relish my natural hair and who does not use heat on her hair often, I’ve come to learn the aforementioned rules. While, I can’t recommend Stephanie to care for those who rock their natural hair. I would recommend her, to those who wear their hair straight, on a normal basis.

Stephanie is amazing! Very nice clean shop, comfortable atmosphere with nice, friendly people. I got my hair cut into a short style that I absolutely love, if any body is to be trusted with the scissors it’s Stephanie! She loves what she does and it shows. I have gotten so many compliments and cannot stay out the mirror. I would defiantly recommend her to any one and will for sure be a repeat costumer myself. I’m glad I found her!

Let me start with Stephanie is AMAZING! Truly a talented stylist! Before the hair Gods put Stephanie into my life, my hair was in a funky place. I was wearing braids for a while and I love my braids and I’m not a weave girl (no shade to the ladies that love their weaves) but it’s not for me; my hair was a weird neck length and completely damage. I knew deep in my heart I wanted to go short, I knew the commitment was serious the only thing was can I find a good hair stylist in the Bay Area? I asked some friends but I didn’t know many ladies with cute short hair cuts! So I went straight to Unilocal and found Stephanie! I knew she had some skills because she was from Atlanta and the ladies hair in the ATL, is always laid! I saw some of her hair models pics online, contacted her and she was as nice as ever. She made making an appointment easy! The shop is in a nice area, clean, friendly and stylish! She’s a master with the shears and made finding a hair style comfortable and simple. I’m so happy with my decision and I’ve found the perfect hair stylist! She also does it all! Whatever you want, Stephanie can supply! I’m constantly recommending people to her! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Stephanie!!! I was recommended to her by a family member. I moved back to Oakland from Atlanta and had not found a good, efficient hair dresser-​one who listens to your wants and delivers with complete detail. When I lived in Atlanta, I had that, so when I found out Stephanie was from the Atlanta area too, I instantly booked an appointment! I have been going to Stephanie now for more than 6 months and she sends me out the door FLAWLESS every.single.time!

Stephanie never ceases to AMAZE me and everyone else who sees my hair after she’s «did» it. I found Stephanie almost 2 years ago on the very first day she started working in Oakland after relocating to Atlanta. Like many ladies I was fed up with the long waits, inconsistent schedule i. e flakiness, and sliding scale pricing. It was a tough decision because my stylist of 10 years was truly talented. But I’m a grown woman with a job, kids and a husband and gone are the days when I could sit at the beauty shop all day Saturday.
Stephanie is professional, to the point, sticks to the schedule, yet is flexible. Most important (to me) she does not overlap and overbook; which makes you feel as if you are her most important client.
Stephanie’s true calling is hair, and she brings that Hair capital of the world /​Hotlanta technical skill but without the bootsy (unless of course if you want that –she can deliver that too). I have supershort hair and she’s particularly adept at creating modern styles.
I’ve waited 2 years to let the secret out — so run don’t walk to this amazing stylist!

AMAZING!!! Its hard to find a good hair stylist in northern California but Stephanie is a Winner. She is always on time and timely… she did a full weave in my hair and by far this is the best weave that i have ever had. My hair looks awesome and its looks so natural, its exactly what i wanted. Stephanie has done my hair twice and the first time i took my weave out my hair was healthy and it actually grew alot. she has a really good technique and she can do it all… color, cut, relaxer, healthy hair … it doesnt get any better then this. I love telling everybody about her and i drive 2 hours just to get my hair done by her.

She charged more than the quoted price this does not incl include a wash/​condition. I’m upset that my sew in doesn’t blend :(I’ll have to work on it when i get home, unfortunately. Clean atmosphere though. I finished in a timely manner. She seems like a nice person however I’m sure I won’t return.

If Grown and Sexii is what you WANT, STEPHANIE’S chair is where you NEED to BE! I found Stephanie on Craigslist and she is literally Oakland’s Best Kept Secret!
Prior to scheduling an appointment with Ms. Stephanie, I called her on the phone and informed her that my hair was a HOT ASS MESS! I got my hair done on Saturday by someone else and lets just say… it looked like my hair was done two months ago (sad, but true). Ms. Stephanie advised me on what to do and scheduled me an appointment the same week to prevent my hair from falling out. I came to see Ms. Stephanie right after work and she was pleasant, friendly and a great conversationalist. My hair went from a hot mess to FLYYY, SEXII and SOPHISTICATED! I was FRIED, DYED and LAID TO THE SIDE (you know how we do)!!
She does the BEST Short CUTS EVER!!! I will be going back to Ms. Atlanta (AKA Stephanie) again and again and again!!! No one will EVER touch my hair, unless Ms. STEPHANIE IS DOING IT!!!

Stephanie is the best stylist that I’ve had since I moved back to the Bay Area in 2010. She definitely knows what she’s doing.
I got my hair done by another stylist in the same salon a few times and found myself watching Stephanie work her magic on her clients. She’s got a wealth of knowledge about hair and has a ton of valuable experience– you can tell she knows what she’s doing. I have really fine hair and she handles my hair very carefully and also offers me tips about how I can take better care of it.
Aside from her talent, Stephanie is extremely professional. She is always on time, never double-​books, and is 100% attentive to her clients. Scheduling is easy and she always gets back to me immediately.
Her infectious personality doesn’t hurt, either. I’m so glad I’ve found her. She does a great job– get in with her now because she’ll have a huge clientele soon!

Stephanie Williams at Hair Studio 99 will leave your hair looking dipped, flipped, and all the way whipped, gurls. YAAAAAAAAS!
I had an appointment for 2pm at Lazarus Hair Studio and showed up ON TIME, because getting my hair done is not a game. My stylist was nowhere in sight and did not appear in the 20 minutes I sat there waiting in sheer perplexity. I gave up — as should ANYONE put in a similar situation. I Unilocal’d nearby hair salons, found Hair Studio 99, called in fear and trepidation, hoping against hope that this place would take me — practically a walk-​in — in the next 10 minutes, on a FRIDAY, before a major holiday (CHRISTMAS). They took me. Stephanie hooked me up — QUICKLY — even though there was a person in the chair and one on the way. She fit me in her booked schedule at 2:45, I was in the chair by 3:30 and done and ready to run by 4:45pm. What? Yaaas boo. YAAAS.
