Hey guys just want to take the time out to leave this review. I must say I enjoyed my very first experience at savvy salon, especially Kianna. She was very helpful, nice and professional and my hairstyle was on POINT really love it! I’m considering making this my go to salon with Kianna my hairstyle.

I used to love Khiana until my last appt. I left the shop very dissatisfied after a partial install she did, Khiana rushed through my head because she was trying to make it to her dance class, when she finished I told her the weave looked really thin and I would like to add a couple more tracks, she then told me she could not add anymore because the braids were too close together, this was untrue because I had another stylist add tracks a week later also after the first week I realized my head was still hurting so much to the point it was stinging the stylist that was inserting the tracks told me my scalp was raised and she would advise me to remove the install, so immediately text Khiana regarding the info I was giving and asked her what she thought I should do, she also said take it out but did not say anything about a reinstall or a refund, when I told her I could not remove the install by myself she offered me an appt to remove it. still no offer of a refund or any compensation but what she did do when responding to me she answered my text with an LOL… I was so insulted that she thought the situation was funny I couldn’t even talk to her anymore, I feel Khiana is not mature enough to run a business she seems to a little immature and naïve when it comes to taking care of her customers properly, she did not apologize for the inconvenience or the pain I endured.

I had the best experience today with Kianna! First of all I called on New Years Eve, to make an appointment for Saturday, and she was able to fit me in. Second she is very warm, friendly an polite. Third she gives the best shampoo ever… And finally she is very detailed and cares about her work. She have me the exact style I asked for… It’s so refreshing to meet a stylist that does what you ask, and does with with great skill and pride! This is the best way I could have started off 2015! I’ve already booked my next appointment.

I’ve finally found my hair stylist! I’ve been looking for local hair stylists, bouncing around to different beauty shops for about a year now. I found Kianna from a Unilocal review (thanks Unilocalers!) after being stood up by another stylist. Kianna took my appointment for a sew-​in last minute. Kianna is punctual, professional, and FRIENDLY, which isn’t always a given. I gave her an idea about the style and cut I was going for and she executed it perfectly! I would recommend Kianna to anyone, and I will definitely be back :). Thanks Kianna!

I recently went to Kianna’s to get my hair redone and she was by far the best hair dresser I have ever had. I have had many experiences before with different hair dressers but none of them reached my expectations. I have very sensitive scalps and Kianna was very gentle and friendly when doing my hair. I was very happy with the results and definitely recommend her for anyone who is looking for someone to give you the best experience when doing hair.

I met Kianna a few months back when I wanted a consult for a partial weave before a photoshoot. I had never had a weave before, and was not familiar with the process at all. Kianna was very patient with me, helped me pick out the right hair for me, the right color and always answered my questions without hesitations. The day of my appointment, she was punctual and did an amazing job of sewing my weave in. I trained with 22″ of hair, ran, and even tied it up– nobody could see the tracks. When I told people it was a weave, nobody could believe it, as her work was extremely professional and the rows didn’t show whatsoever. I ended up taking my hair out, as 22″ of hair can be extremely hot in the summer time. I definitely recommend Kianna to anyone and everyone. I will be going back to her for my next weave as well.

5÷23÷14 Kiana is a lovely person. She was fairly punctual. I only waited thirty minutes. She washed and took down my hair and then she she did a total head weave. Although she is a good braider she is not a good professional weaver. She did not know how to weave where the tracks do not show. I was extremely disappointed with the job that she did. She is not a detail person. The braids came loose in spots after one week. She had to be shown how to fill hair in the top of the weave by the other stylist. In most shops the price of the weave includes your style. In this shop you are charged separately for taking the weave down, washing the hair, styling etc. It would have been ok if the job was professional, but it wasn’t. The following week I had to go to another stylist to correct the mistakes done by Kiana.

After my long search for a hair stylist since my move to the bay area, i stumbled across Kianna’s number online and i went to her to have extension sewn in. Let me just say i am glad i went to hair and i was not disappointed. i finally have a hair stylist in the bay. she is good at what she does and most of all she is patient, accommodating and works well with your schedule. My hair is amazing and i am grateful i went to her. thanks Kianna

My rating is really 3.5 but I am rounding up instead of down. I felt conflicted about this review because I think Kianna is really nice and very talented. But I have to be honest about my weave experience with her. First off Kianna got right back to me when I was trying to get an appointment (unlike the shop owner). She scrambled to find me hair at the last minute. Her braiding was neat, she styled me nicely and I got TONS of compliments on my hair. But my lace front was set too far back and you could see where it was sewn in a little but. At first she sent me out like that despite might questioning but then when I said I wanted it fixed she did get me right in and work on it. It got much better but not perfect, my mom had to put in work too (found out when the owner redid it that the lace front was parted wonky and needed some doctoring to fix it so that was part of the problem). The other problem was about 3 tracks came loose and though she was willing to fix it I ended up having to do it myself the first time because it looked so bad so when the other tracks started falling I fixed them myself. I know a lot of her clients are happy and the weaves I saw her do were cute so maybe she was just having an off day. The last thing was more minor but she was too noncommittal for me. It was my first weave and I wanted recommendation and direction and she was more like «if you think that looks good then do it that way». As she gets more experience she may feel more confident in giving strong recommendations for one approach versus another.

Ok… so…I have taken a hiatus from beautyshops due to unprofessional, messy, over priced hair nightmares. So after some years (5+) I decided its time to transition from the kitchen to the shop again. I found Studio 99 on Craigslist and let my research begin there. I noticed that the owner if the shop was «That One» I needed to see to achieve a great style and experience. I called her and was not able to book with her but she recommended Kiana. I was not too happy, I have had lots of disappointments, but I decided to try her since «That One» had referred me.
I went to my appointment and met with Ms. Kiana. At first I thought oh lawd whats this lil girl fenna do to my head and how long has this lil girl been out of cosmo school? I figured I would be an experiment for the young girl which I didnt mind at the time because if I didnt like it I would not pay plus I needed my hair washed and combed out.
I sat down…
I noticed at first how gentle she was when taking down my weave… ok…during the consultation I noticed her actually listening and asking me for specifics on how I wanted my hair styled… she washed, deep conditioned, massaged my scalp and blew me out all gently and all while taking her time. Her braids were not too tight before or after my install. She flattened out my weave and styled and cut it exactly hiw I wanted it. She had an appt that showed up early and she didnt rush through my sistah curls to go make that $.
I stood up…
I stood and wanted to hug her because she had restored my belief in beautyshops again and my style was the bomb but most importantly I felt human, not like a $ and the experience was super pleasant! Kiana did a great job and I have alot of respect for that Grown Woman. She shut my mouth with her actions and thats all I wanted. I will be seeing her again within the next 2 weeks for my wash n style and for every other hair need after that. Im even bringing in my 6 yo for her braids now.
Being treated right and high quality skills are my selling points in a stylist, I dont mind paying for either and with that I highly recommend coming to see Kiana she is truly a breathe of fresh air in this chaotic world of «hair stylists».

Kianna is my new Stylist! I have gone to her twice and each time I Loved my Hair. She is very patient, friendly and affordable. The first appointment I scheduled with her i was over 1 hour late due to unexpected traffic delays, she was still very cool, calm and collective. I wanted my hair weaved with a little hair left out and she created the look I was after. I was in and out in less than 3 hours both times. The braids underneath are neat and small which is the foundation for any great weave, and they were easy to take out which is always a plus. I HIGHLY recommend anyone looking to get their hair hooked up to call KIANNA @ Studio99 in downtown Oakland!

Kianna has styled my hair twice and I’ve been very happy with the results both times. I even traveled to hair crazy Chicago after she had did my hair and women were coming up to me asking who did my hair. Kianna is fast, reasonable and very good at doing hair. Plus she is very professional, on-​time and nice.

I have locs and over the years have shampooed and twisted them myself, I recently started going to Kianna and I don’t think I’ll ever do my own hair again! It is such a treat to have her do my hair. She is professional and likes to make her clients happy. In addition to shampooing and twisting, she touches up my color when I need it. So happy to have her as my stylist.
