History

Established in 2012.

Formerly known as Alex Auto Repair, two long time Friends decided to purchase the business that was struggling. With over 35 years experience in the industry including 5 years of management at an Auto Repair Franchise. The two friends hope to turn this location into a Customer Friendly & Economical Auto Repair Shop from the alternative dealerships because they know in this economy every savings helps! They have a goal in mind at that is to make sure you and your vehicle is taken care of because «WE CARE».

Came in here to complete a oil change for my friends car last week and it was super quick! I got to use a Unilocal coupon easily and saved a few bucks. One of the mechanics even assisted me with figuring out why the truck wouldn’t close! I recommend this place for an oil change or any mechanical needs!

This was my first visit here. I was looking for a smog check & liked what the guys stated on their website. It seems they really care about their customers and their business. Arrived on a thursday after noon and it actually took a while (10 mins or so) for someone to acknowledge me even waiting there for service. You’d think that for a company that prides themselves in customer service that a 10 – 15 min to be acknowledge (especially since I was right behind the next car inline and made eye contact several times with the service tech) would be excessive… guess not. The price was rather steep. Full Synthetic 90 bucks, no tire pressure check, no fluid check, no nothing. Atfer I was greeted, the service was quick. I always wonder though, how do I really know they are putting 90 bucks worth of oil in my car unless I sit there and stare at them the hole time… I ain’t got time for all that! haha.

I’m so happy I chose this shop, I needed to find a good local shop reasonably priced. I came in for the good reviews and mentioned seeing them on Unilocal and they honored their special price for the oil change posted here, the gentleman was polite and very efficient I was in and out great spot, they also have car washing next to the shop and attached to Valero a convenient spot I’ll be back here!

Thanks Unilocalers for this find in my ‘hood. Took a newly purchased 1998 quest and Francisco was nice and did an oil change in 20m and in a second visit did my smog in about the same period of time. Not open this past Sunday so perhaps I’d check in with them on their days of operation. On the other hand, Abdul (the other guy) lacks personality and does not instill a warm fuzzy feeling. He may have a great skill set with cars just not with people.
Just ask for Francisco anytime you visit

First let me say this place is open SUNDAYS and that was definitely a plus plus plus…
The guy was fast straight to the point, i was in and out in less than 45mins.
It was only one guy there the owner he was very nice an knowledgeable i felt comfortable with him and the smog he did on my car. I was looking for a place cheap on Sunday called at least 5 places they were over charging just because it was Sunday. He was my last call he was open and only 50 bucks, i was there in 15mins. lol
Sunday has not set hours i think he’s jusy open till 12ish or 1, which is cool with me.

Very fast and reasonable price. Smog and oil change, count me in. Abdul and Francisco helped me and even tighten some bolts that were loose. They even helped me put on my wiper blades for free. Like others have said they recommended some stuff and were not pushy about it.

These guys are great. Got a smog check from them and returned a few weeks later to have them replace the worn-​out motor on one of my power windows. They delivered ahead of schedule and on estimate, and were really friendly and easy to deal with throughout — always picked up the phone, left me courteous messages, etc. So glad to have a place like this in the neighborhood!

I came here after I failed the smog test on my ’78 Vette and another repair place quoted me a ridiculous amount just to diagnose what I already knew was wrong (a minor issue of disconnected valves and high idle). Abdul gave me a great deal and provided prompt honest service. I will definitely come back here again and recommend to friends!!! Wish more places like this existed :)

Great deal, quick service, they helped me right away.
I went in after seeing the Unilocal ad offering an oil change on the cheap however my car (Honda Fit) takes premium oil. :(I was sad they told me it wasn’t the same deal or discount (I forget what the deal was specifically). But they took off $ 5 anyways for me. They were nice personable and gave a great oil change for far less than jiffy lube.

Like said on other reviews, this place has changed its ownership recently. Had came here before back in February and got a smog check on a SUV. So before I came to Smog Car Care & Lube for the 2nd time, I called to ask for price on a smog check star certified for my car (sudan). I gave my cars details to the receptionist. (By the way when i went the first time the actual worker picked up there was no receptionist) Once she told me the price I didn’t hesitate to go. I have to say, the workers are fast and efficient. Good prices. Clean surroundings. They also have a waiting area with coffee and magazines while you wait. I felt appreciated as a customer. Its in the neighborhood, what more can i ask for. I was a little weary about this place because of the one review but I was overdue for an oil change and was calling around all morning for quotes. I kept getting quoted $ 70-​$ 85 for my 2008 mazda3, which I know was more than it should have cost. I do need a synthetic oil blend, so i expected to pay more, but not that much more. I called this place and they quote me $ 44 and broke down the costs.
I hurried myself on over and was able to get in and out in about 20 minutes. Abdul, one of the guys there, was really nice, professional, and thorough. He checked my fluids and car and let me know what needed some work. I didn’t feel pressured to make any decisions then. He even gave me a print out with the work he’s recommending for future reference.
I’m new to the Bay and have been on the search for a go-​to guy. These guys do it all at a budget friendly price, I may have just found my place!
I would recommend this place to anyone who needs work on their car done.
