I made my appointment for a second opinion regarding possible Invisalign to correct my overbite and reduce painful inner lip bites while eating. — A bit much to swallow but with all that in mind, I want to report that Dr Righellis took my concerns seriously by carefully including me in the evaluation and performing tests to determine what might be going on. He was honest and forthcoming while discussing options and NEVER tried to guide me away from my regular dentist. A true professional. I am grateful for the appointment and his expertise.

As an adult seeking braces for the first time, I wanted to find an orthodontist who had a track record of success. I was referred to Dr. Righellis by a friend of a friend and after meeting a few other adults with braces who all went to Dr. Righellis.
I am now half way through my orthodontic treatment with Dr. Righellis. His staff (dental techs/​assistants, reception, and billing) are professional, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. They have a high volume of clients and yet are always on time, polite, caring and sensitive to the differences between treating adults for ortho vs. teens.
So far everything is moving along well, but if you have concerns that your treatment will take longer be sure to ask Dr. Righellis about AcceleDent.

He fixed my smile :)). I had a huge underbite that could only be fixed with surgery. I consulted with an orthodontist elsewhere for the first time and they told me that I could just wear braces and not have jaw surgery. This was the first and only time that I have ever heard «no surgery» because I have always been told I needed surgery by other dentists I have seen throughout my life. I decided to consult Dr. Ringhellis and sure enough, he said I needed surgery like everyone else did and I also spoke to an oral surgeon and he also confirmed it. My treatment here went so smoothly. I was ready for surgery within 8 months, which was super fast b/​c you have to wait a yr. normally. I wish I didn’t have to get it, but it was the only way to fix my bite without having to worry it coming back. He made my recovery so smooth. They were never late for my appointments. If they were, then it would have been my fault for showing up late.
I paid $ 8K for braces. The price is not the cheapest but the results were worth it. Dr. Righellis teaches at Med schools so he knows his stuff. Also, why would you be cheap on your smile and braces? I heard that if an orthodontist messed up, it’s really hard to fix your teeth later on b/​c your teeth are basically connected to your bones. Do you research thoroughly before committing to an orthodontist. I totally recommend Dr. Righellis!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Righellis. If you live in the area and you want the best orthodontist for yourself or your child, Dr. Righellis is the one to see.
I have experienced Dr. R. both as a patient (yes, I had to get braces as an adult) and a parent of two children who are both his patients. I have never been to a better run doctor’s office. They are very punctual, they have their processes down to a science, and they use state of the art technology. I have always found his entire staff to be professional, friendly, warm, and patient.
Dr. Righellis himself is simply amazing. He never forgets a name or face, has a memory and attention to detail like no other. He is at the forefront of his profession, keeping very current with developments in his field and utilizing the best technology. He is personable, charismatic, and a clear communicator, which is helpful when you are trying to understand a medical recommendation. He is a perfectionist, just what you want when you are dealing with your teeth. He spends a lot of time with you at the introductory meeting and the more in-​depth consultation to show you what he is seeing and explain his recommended treatment plan. This is not a one-​size-​fits-​all solution; he tailors the treatment to the specific issues that he sees. I have two children who both had serious under-​bites, and I therefore assumed that they would both have the same treatment plan. But after looking at the panoramic xrays, there were compelling reasons to treat my younger daughter differently from my older daughter. He really studies the problem and figures out the best solution.
My kids also love going to his office. They have a patient reward system that my kids really like — and they earn itunes gift cards and other prizes that they love, all for earning points by being on time, making their next appointment, brushing their teeth well, etc.
The financial manager worked with me to figure out a payment plan that would maximize our dental/​ortho insurance benefit and our 125 plan pre-​tax dollars. When it turned out that our insurance company covered more than we anticipated, I promptly received a refund for the difference without having to ask for it. I truly appreciate an office that is organized and efficient in every way, consistently, every time you visit.
If you are looking for the best, Dr. Righellis is it. I wouldn’t trust my smile to anyone else.

Our daughters had a very good experience with Dr. Righellis, who is clearly extremely competent and attentive. However, I just called to see if I could make some appointments for my sons and was so offended by the snide, passive aggressive, unhelpful attitude of the receptionist that I will be finding another orthodontist to work with my two sons.

Dr Righellis seems great so far. The reason for the 3 stars is that the office as a whole hasn’t been as good of an experience. The receptionists on several occasions came across curt and unapproachable. Bad day, jaded, perhaps. We will give them the benefit of a doubt and continue treatment there. The orthodontist himself has been a pleasure to work with, as well as the other administrators.

As an adult in a waiting room filled with pre-​teens and their parents I felt a little out of place. After all, I did have braces when I was 12 years old. Why was I revisiting this stage of my life?
I have a muscle wasting disease that has impacted my jaw which affects my ability to chew. My dentist referred me to an orthodontist.
Everyone in this office was so friendly and made me feel very comfortable perhaps realizing it was an unusual visit for me. Dr. Righellis asked me the right questions and we discussed the options. He – unlike so many doctors — really listened to me and agreed that braces and/​or surgery would not be appropriate.

My 14 year old daughter finished her orthodontic treatment with Dr. Righellis last week. Her teeth are beautiful, the braces came off exactly as scheduled, and we have loved everything about Dr. Righellis and his staff. Dr. Righellis has so many good qualities: he is an expert and a perfectionist who knows how to achieve results but he is also kind, tuned in to each patient and family. His office has devoted a lot of thought about how to incentivize patient involvement and progress: there are great web resources and also contests and rewards. Appointments run on time, which is important for keeping school and work schedules on track, and everything that is done during the appointment is clearly explained. I wish every doctor’s office was this welcoming and well run!

I am thoroughly impressed with Dr. Righellis and staff. The attention he gives to each patient is remarkable, and he is clearly very skilled. The operation is extremely efficient, timely, and friendly.

I am an adult who is mid-​way through Orthodontic treatment for a mechanical bite issue (which was damaging my teeth), and I’ve been very impressed with every aspect of the treatment, from diagnosis through the current stage. I appreciate how they set very clear expectations and also give me choices. For example, they recommended an extra step to achieve better cosmetic results ultimately; at the same time, they were comfortable with my decision to treat the mechanical issue only (the cosmetic aspect is of less concern to me).
And, at one point my Invisalign trays were destroyed by my dog (long story, he’s a terrier), and they replaced the set at cost — which I greatly appreciated.
I highly recommend these good folks!

I heard by more than one person that «Dr. Righellis is the best!» Additionally, he has great reviews. I have no doubt that he’s an excellent orthodontist. But as an adult in need of orthodontia, I felt overwhelmed and rushed by what seemed to me like a sales pitch. I went in thinking I would get some Invisalign and maybe some periodontal work to even out my gum line, and I’d be on my way to a better smile, invisibly. I was told not only that I need JAW SURGERY to correct my malocclusion which does not work with Invisalign, but that the total treatment (orthodontics and surgery) would cost «somewhere between a new Prius and a BMW 7-​series.» That’s a pretty damn big range. The difference between those cars alone is $ 60,000, so essentially I would be in debt for the greater part of my adulthood. I was also scheduled for follow-​ups for molds, a meeting with «the team,» and my referral for X-​rays was shipped right out. Other reviewers indicate that they move swiftly, which I can appreciate from the efficiency angle.
However, I feel that after hearing such a daunting diagnosis, a girl needs some time to absorb and ponder the prospect of paying tens of thousands of dollars to get her jaw cracked open while wearing braces as an adult.
Again, I’ve heard nothing but excellent things about Dr. Righellis. But the fact that the possibility of insurance coverage for this exorbitant surgery was dismissed right away in favor of working exclusively with his specific team, and the fact that no one in the office even acknowledged my concern about payments was a little alarming. I like to have options before I spend a butt load of money.

My brother and i were patients of Dr. Righellis years ago (decades, actually!) Today, I don’t hesitate to drive through the tunnel to take my daughter to him because he has more than just great results to offer. He is a groundbreaking pioneer who has invented many of the practices used in modern orthodontia (is that a word?).
Beyond the science involved in aligning jaws and teeth, there is an art to creating the «perfect smile» that is different for each patient. What works on one patient does not work on all, and Dr. Righellis approaches each patient as a unique individual and thoughtfully crafts a treatment program designed to minimize discomfort.
My daughter’s teeth were pretty wild (overbite with front teeth sticking out) and he chose to take a slower, more careful approach because it would be more comfortable for her. He said it could be done faster, with the same results, but it would be less comfortable for her. I was really touched at his compassion– even if it meant a few more months of treatment at no additional cost.
Speaking of care and compassion, his staff is really wonderful. His team is not the usual assistants you find in a dental office. The team are highly trained and VERY knowledgable individuals who are wonderfully good at making my daughter feel relaxed by thoroughly explaining what will happen at each step. This morning, my daughter had braces put on her lower teeth (phase 2) and she was nervous about what would happen. Claudia (one of the technicians) spent a few extra minutes with a mirror and the braces and tools showing my daughter exactly what would go where and what it would do and what she could expect to feel and hear during the installation. By the time Dr. Righellis came over, my daughter was relaxed and calm. Claudia stayed beside my daughter the whole time just to make sure that she was fine.
I love that Dr. Righellis and his team take such good care of my daughter, and that they make the experience fun and enjoyable. It says a lot about their dedication to their patients and their dedication to their craft. I have seen a huge change in his practice since my days in his chair. Righelis was good then – he’s GREAT now!

I moved to the Bay Area from the East Coast with just six more months of orthodontic treatment left, so I was pretty disappointed that I had to switch orthodontists so late in the game.
Based on Unilocal reviews, I made a consultation appointment at this office. I was seen by Dr. Sears, who was confident that my orthodontic treatment would be done within nine months using the current appliances I already had even if it wasn’t the same equipment they use on their patients. Better news came when Dr. Righellis told me that they would be willing to complete my treatment for the remaining balance I had with my previous orthodontist. Eight months later, my braces came off. However, the treatment didn’t stop there. They fitted me for retainers. After the retainers came in, I was seen 2 weeks, 6 weeks, then two months later and will be seeing them again 6 months from my last visit to ensure that the retainers are doing their job.
On top of all that, I was always seen on time or no later than 15 minutes after my scheduled appointments and the times I did have to wait, everyone profusely apologized for making me wait.

Excellent work. They have perfected their system so that from the moment you have your consultation, to the day you get your braces off (which is today! yeah Gracie!) everything is seamless.
They have state of the art equipment. My kids never complain about anything. There is an award system for timliness, which equals no waiting, ever.
They demonstrate a lot of support for the kids, by posting newspaper articles about their patients, and pictures of post braces smiles.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The office is clean an airy. The teeth are straightened on time as predicted. Great experience overall.

Superlative orthodontist – variable staff, who sometimes are inappropriate when talking about patients (rolling eyes and stuff like that). But, there is no one better than Dr. Righellis. He is so competent with very difficult cases and unafraid to pull teeth when necessary. Seen too many cases where teeth should have been pulled, and the person still looks like they have buck teeth/​too forward bite, post-​braces.

My son started seeing Dr. Righellis 3 months ago and I’ve been impressed with him and his staff. They are very child-​friendly, do a good job explaining things, and the office seems high-​tech. It’ll be a while before I can tell you about the results, but so far, I’m impressed.

Dr, Righellis and his staff are very professional, very timely, have dedicated parking spaces for clients, and very high tech too.
Not sure if they can fix my open bite, but the consultation was quite satisfactory.

My sister came to Dr. Righellis about 10 years ago and he still remembered her when i came in for my consultation. (he actually called me by her name during one of the visits. This happens alot cause we look alot alike so I’m pretty used to it) I decided to get braces as an adult and Dr. Righellis serves both adults and children.
Once you call for a consultation they move pretty fast. The will take a ton of pictures on the first visit and they do some casting of your mouth. They use a lot of high tech equipment, the office seems to use a lot of different computer technology.
So far I haven’t been in a lot of pain. After each appointment my teeth are pretty sensitive. I would say extremely uncomfortable rather than painful. Advil is my friend.
The office is pretty high tech and they get you in and out. They are very organized and they will answer all of your questions. The dental assistants (I’m not sure what they are called in an Orthodontics office) are very friendly.
I didn’t really compare prices before I went to Dr. Righellis but people have asked how much I’m paying and they think it’s kind of expensive. The thing is the price they give you in the beginning covers everything — All of your visits for tightenings and loose brackets as well as the 2 – 3 years of aftercare (retainer and follow up visits to make sure everything is staying where it should. I like the idea of paying for everything and not having any surprise later.
So far my experience has been great. It’s been about 4 months but I’m ready for them to come off. 10 more months to go!
Update: They have a new associate in the office, Dr. Sears. I’m not if he will eventually take over the practice or if he is just a permanent addition but I do know one thing… He is fine as hell. Pretty green eyes and handsome as ever. I knew they had a new guy but this was my first time meeting him in person and all I could say while he was talking to me was uh huh… uh huh and I couldn’t take my eyes off of his. I would be willing to keep my braces on a little longer just to look at him but alas I only have 6 months to go. maybe I’ll have to keep having «problems» with the brackets so I can go in more frequently!
