They quoted me $ 400.00 to remove tree sap from my vehicle.
I was smart enough to decline and go to Mickey’s in Oakland. They removed the tree sap with soap and water for $ 11.
I feel offended that Quality body would try to cheat me like that. They exploited my lack of knowledge of cars. I will not be bringing my car back here for repairs.

Just picked up my 65 Corvair convertible, which some dummy backed into broadside and took off. These folks did unbelievable work. Looks better than the actual resto. From top to bottom, incredibly professional operation — everybody is warm, courteous, straightforward– no shenanigans. Right when they finished, my daily driver got sideswiped, told the other guy’s insurance company, «I’m taking it to Quality.»

They were very unfriendly… it was hard to even get a hello or any clear information. They gave an insurance estimate and then refused to take the car for several weeks. When I asked for the insurance check that was being mailed to them back, they flat out refused to hand it over. Weird, and a bad experience.

I had the pleasure of having my car worked on twice by this place. The first time honda service center sent my car for recall on paint on the hood and fender. I ended up paying them to also fix egg damage all over the roof and trunk for reasonable price. They did a terrific job. The second time i went to them was because a liberty mutual client hit me on my right side and ruined my fender that they just repainted. Also messed up my bumper mirror and hubcap. I brought it to them myself this time and it amazed me how friendly the workers were and of course the owner. They seemed like they were happy to be at work and are very professional. I highly reccomend this place to anybody. They do an amazing job and are reasonable on the price. The owner is definetly trustworthy, honest and knows what its like to actually work on the car himself.

I’ve unfortunately had to use these guys twice in the last year and I truly can’t recommend them enough. They are honest, helpful and very transparent throughout the whole process. Both times my car was finished days before they estimated which was a nice surprise. They also drove me back home so I didn’t have to deal with getting a ride. I worked with Miguel both times and will 100% go directly to him if I had to (although let’s hope I’m not back for a while!). Overall all, HIGHLY recommend!

Dave was very honest and took care of my Toyota Highlander. My gate was replaced and it looks so good!

These guys are great.
They fixed my ignition and locks after my car was broken into. A few weeks later at 4:45 on a Friday afternoon, I was stuck in a parking lot a few blocks from their shop and couldn’t turn my ignition. I called and the owner of the company came to meet me to help me, minutes before they close on a Friday afternoon. Turns out there was nothing wrong and I just needed to giggle my steering wheel (it’s an old car). They had no obligation to help me and went out of their way to help me. Thanks guys!

I have used Quality Body and Fender twice and each time they restored the car so perfectly you cannot see where the damage was done. My Progressive insurance agent recommended them to me the first time, and I was able to meet their claims agent there. He took over my claim from beginning to end and Quality handled the extra damage they found with Progressive. Ricky even sent their shuttle to bring me in when I went to pick it up. They really do Quality work!

I was impressed by the way the crew at Quality handled my claim. Excellent service; they knew what they were doing; they took care of all the insurance issues and when an extra issue came up they were the intermediary between the dealer, Enterprise, and the insurance company and they handled all of it at no extra cost.

My experience here was disappointing in a few ways.
First, I waited 5 days for them to contact me, after I chose them to do the work as an approved body shop with my insurance. When they didn’t contact me, I called them and asked when I could bring the car in. When I brought it in, they told me it would just be an estimate appointment, but after seeing the car they told me that it wasn’t safe to drive. Then why did it take you 5 days to even contact me to find out what I was still driving?! So I got a rental car, and was told the work would take about 5 days. When I called on day 5, I learned that the work hadn’t started yet because they were still waiting on the part needed. Um, okay I guess, but that seemed like a long time to me.
Finally, my car is ready and I pick it up. The work looks good, but they had to replace one of my headlights so one headlight is sparkly new and the other is clouded and crazy looking. I mean seriously, my car looks ridiculous. The woman who works there points this out to me and suggests that I try cleaning the headlight with mosquito spray. Given that between myself and my insurance this business just got $ 3000 from me, I am not impressed. I call the manager and ask why they couldn’t simply have cleaned the other headlight so that my car could leave the shop looking a little more normal. She explains that insurance doesn’t cover that and that the process takes 3 – 4 hours and is expensive ($ 75-​$ 100). Well, duh my insurance doesn’t cover that, but I point out that from a customer service perspective it would be a nice thing to do, and hell, some shops want people leaving with cars that look GOOD. She lets me know that I am welcome to bring my car back and pay $ 75-​$ 100 to have them do it for me. Really?!
So I went to a car wash and got it cleaned for $ 25 in 10 minutes. No joke. It looks great and I don’t know why they couldn’t just do that. I guess $ 3000 is no biggie for them, and clearly they don’t care to go the extra mile for their customers.
There are a lot of good shops in Oakland – my experience left me feeling that I should have chosen another one instead.

I called My insurance progressive on Wednesday recommend me to quality body and fender I had a milder accident that I did on my left side of my rear car. So my insurance or the body shop send a tow truck to get my car to the body shop. So the day got my car back and Ricky at the body shop send me a shuttle to go to their body shop to get my car I never heard a body shop have a shuttle to take customer to the body shop. Now that what I call a customer service I have my car fix my rear of my car fixed and I’m happy do my business with them again.

I received some repairs here a little less than 2 years ago. I had to get my bumper replaced on my subaru impreza wrx after a minor accident. They quoted me $ 1200, so I paid my insurance deductible and went with the repairs. The bumper looked fine when I picked it up, but after a few days, I noticed that some parts of the bumper were not put in. This included plugs to hold the fender in the wheel well area, and some other small parts that went in the bumper for aesthetics. In addition, the bottom engine cover had a crack down the middle of it from the accident and that was not replaced… so obviously I went back in. I told them of all the things they missed based on their quote and they agreed to take the car back in and fix their mistakes. After waiting another couple days, I got the car back… the missing parts were in, but they still did not replace the bottom engine cover.
Eventually I said forget it and didn’t want to take it in for a 3^rd time, so I’ve just lived with the cracked engine cover since. I unfortunately will not be going back to them for any body repairs.

Currently I am sitting in the waiting room seething. I was sent here by my insurance agency when I got rear ended before thanksgiving. I asked them to do some extra work since it needed to be done. I was told that Ricky would be the one handling my car. 1. It has taken 10 days to get minor work done. 2. I had to do all the follow up. 3. I arrived early because I had no choice and Ricky literally laughed in my face then proceeded to ignore me. There was no coffee offered even though there is a coffee make. No, invitation to read a magazine. Just a back turned while I’m sitting here clueless about what will happen next. I have no idea how the others are that work at this place, but never go to Ricky– He. Is. Awful.

I have had the pleasure of doing business with Quality Body for nearly ten years now and have always driven away happy and satisfied. They have done everything from simple bumper repairs to helping me restore a vehicle that my insurance company wanted to junk. To help me save money once, they hunted for a replacement door on an old SUV… and even found it in the right color! I also have a «classic» 2001 Honda Prelude Type SH that people love to ding and dent… they have helped me keeping it looking like new over the years. No matter what kind of repairs or vehicle type you have, I think you will be very satisfied with Quality Body and Fender.

I have been to Quality Body & Fender two times now and they continue to exceed my expectations! The staff is very personable, responsive, and knowledgable. Ben managed my repairs on both occasions and he obviously had my best interest in mind. He offered realistic quotes, that were significantly lower than other body shops I took my car to, and the end price was lower than the quote on both occasions. This last time I visited, they told me repairs would take a few days and then called me 4 hours later saying everything was completed. The quality of the work is unquestionable as the end products allow me to forget there was damage in the first place. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND PLAN TO CONTINUE GOING TO THEM FOR SERVICE!!!

Once again (unfortunately) I took my car to Quality for repairs after my car was hit.
Quality did a fabulous job repairing my car, and in working with my insurance company and in getting a car rental. They could not have made the experience easier.
I have sent many friends to Quality, and they have all had the same great experience as me.

Great place– really personal service! Jacqueline was great right from the first call to the personal shuttle home! Miguel was very helping coordinating the charges through insurance! Our car had a stupid little fender smash and a couple day later, it looked like new! Such an easy process and helpful team!

Not terrible, but certainly not the best and I would not recommend this place.
I was rear ended by a drunk driver over spring break, so my entire bumper needed to be replaced. I have progressive insurance, and they said Quality body and fender was contracted with them, so the work should be done quickly and efficiently. I brought my car in the day after my accident, and they were nice enough to give me a ride back home. Then I waited a few days and didn’t hear anything from them, so I gave them a call. They said they had just finished going over the damages with the progressive rep, and would start repairs on my car. The work on my car then kept getting delayed, with little to no communication from Quality. They gave me an estimate of one week, and when I called to confirm my car would be ready the next day, Manny said the dealership had somehow messed up and delayed sending the parts. Doubtful, but okay. It was pushed back a few days, and when I called again to check, Manny said that their employees had missed something while going over my car and had to order some additional bolts to attach the bumper. Had I not called, I would have been uninformed about this second delay. I didn’t get a rental car because I didn’t want to deal with the process and figured I could share a car with my mother since it shouldn’t take too long. However, it took an extra week for me to get my car back and it was extremely frustrating since I had made plans around whether or not I would have a car or not. I commute from the East Bay to San Francisco throughout the week, and my experience with Quality was much more of a hassle than I thought it would be.
Maybe it was a fluke, hence the 3 stars. Everyone else seems to have had a much quicker and better experience than I did, and the folks at Quality were very nice. But, considering the delays and the lack of communication, I would not definitely not bring my car back here (I mean, hopefully I never have to right?), and I would not recommend it.
